The present study aimed at clarifying unsteady flow characteristics of the industrial motors. High- resolution CCD camera(2k×2k, ES 4.0) and Nd-YAG laser are adopted to clarify flow characteristics of the motor. Quantitative velocity distribution and related flow information is presented and macro flow structure, generated via the motor axis and the cooling fan, also is investigated. Moreover, from the velocity field data, discharge flow rate through the air duct is compared at each measuring sections.

In the case of wind turbine design, Optimization of tower structure is very important because tower generally takes about 20% of overall turbine cost. In this paper, we calculated wind loads considering vortex shedding, and optimized tower flange using the calculation results. For optimization, we used FEM to analyze structural strength of the flange and blade momentum theory to calculate wind loads.
수정된 Hardy-Cross법을 이용한 전동기내 유량 분배 해석

Modified Hardy-Cross Method is introduced to analyze the flow rate distributions in a motor. The Hardy-Cross Method has been used to analyse the water pipe networks. In this paper, some calculation parts of this method are changed in order to apply the air pipe systems. The computed results were verified by the comparison with a commercial CFD package FLUENT analysis. The flow rate distributions in a motor are investigated analytically.

In this study, we performed the CFD analysis to predict the cooling performance of the motor for golf-car application. The motor for the golf-car is different from the general motors in the cooling method and the operating condition. So, it is important to predict the motor's temperature generated by the electric losses. We investigated the inner temperature rise using the unsteady state analysis and compared with the experiment for the reliability evaluation of the CFD results through the present study.

The foundation insert is a tubular steel section which is embedded into the concrete of the foundation. The tower base section of the wind turbine is mounted on it. It has a top flange (L type) protruding far enough above the concrete to allow bolts to be inserted from underneath. The load is transmitted to the concrete at the base of the section through a T shaped flange. It has many holes for the reinforcements and the cables. The reinforcements of the concrete foundation run through the insert via a series of holes to bind the inner section to the outer section. Holes are provided for the power and communications cabling. The design follows normal European wind turbine practice, based on GL 2003 and Eurocode regulations.

The optimal design and characteristic analysis of Double Fed Induction Generator(DFIG) was performed. The purpose of the paper is to verify the accuracy of design and the reliability of DFIG by experiment. A grid connection experiment is performed to confirm generating performance in wide operating range. In this experiment, 2.7MW M/G set is used. The finite element method is applied to calculate parameters and characteristic analysis of DFIG. And in order to reduce design time and efforts, Design of Experiment(DOE) is used. The experimental results are compared with the optimum design results.

This paper shows operating characteristics of DFIG(Double Fed Induction Generator) for wind turbine. The back to back PWM voltage-fed inverter connected between the rotor and grid network operated sub and super-synchronous operating mode, and the vector-controlled DFIG enables the decoupling between active and reactive power as well as between torque and power factor. This paper is validated by simulations and experimental results.

Recently, the interest for renewable energy producing system is increasing rapidly. Among these, the wind turbine is most highlighted. It is installed at severe environment and generate electricity for a long time to exceed in 20. Components of wind turbine are required high reliability. Therefore, structural strength analysis for wind turbine is needed an accurate FE model. This paper is to provide reliable fine element modeling method of yaw bearing for wind turbine.

Load analysis software enables to design wind turbines effectively and exactly. In this paper, Bladed software developed by Garrad Hassan and Partners is used for load analysis. When using Bladed software, many time is requested to input data which is called by pre-processing. So in this paper, pre-processing Is automated by in-house software(BX) With this BX software, we can reduce the total time for pre-processing about 90%.
