차별이라는 수수께끼, 그 답을 찾아서

『파친코』는 현재 세계에서 베스트셀러 열풍을 일으키고 있는 작품이다. 애플TV+에서 『파친코』를 드라마로 제작하면서 더욱 주목받기 시작했다. 『파친코』는 4대에 걸친 재일교포 가족소설이다. 그러나 역사소설이기도 하다. 1900년대 초부터 1989년까지 한국과 일본의 역사를 누구보다 객관적으로, 담담하고 정직하게 서술하고 있다. ‘선자’라는 한국 여인의 4대에 걸친 가족, 사랑, 이별, 운명, 극복이 담긴 서사. 이러한 한국적 정서와 한국의 역사가 세계인의 공감을 불러일으킨다는 것에 깜짝 놀라지 않을 수 없다. 작가 이민진은 ‘한’으로 점철된 한국인의 정서를 담백한 문체로 서술하고, 한국 이민자의 역사를 간결하게 담아냈다. 작가는 2권의 장편소설이라 자칫 지루하고 늘어질 수 있는 작품을 여러 장으로 구분하고 있다. 그리고 장마다 새로운 에피소드를 담아내고 있다. ‘소설은 재미있어야 한다’는 작가의 신념에 맞게 책을 손에서 놓을 수 없게 하는 흡입력을 갖추고 있는 작품이다. 이민진 작가는 역사를 재미있는 소설 속에 담아내고 있다. 『파친코』는 인간의 본성과 정직한 역사에 대한 담백한 서술이고, 현 시대의 다문화를 애달프게 반영하고 있는 소설이다. 그래서 많은 세계인들이 그의 작품에 공감하고 호응할 수 있는 듯하다. 『파친코』는, 이제는 차별과 혐오의 역사를 끝내고 정직한 역사를 이끌어가야 한다는 메시지를 보내고 있다. 그리고 다문화 시대에 소수자로 살고 있는 이민자들이 차별이라는 수수께끼를 어떻게 풀어내고 극복해야 하는지, 그 방향을 제시하고 있는 소설이라 할 수 있겠다. 『Pachinko』 is a work that is currently creating a craze for bestsellers in the world. It began to attract more attention when it was made into a drama on Apple TV+. 『Pachinko』 is a novel of a Korean-Japanese family spanning four generations. But it is also a historical novel. It describes the history of Korea and Japan from the early 1900s to 1989 more objectively, calmly and honestly than anyone else. A narrative of a Korean woman named ‘Sunja’ that spans four generations of family, love, parting, fate, and overcoming. I can t help but be surprised that these Korean sentiments and Korean history arouse sympathy from people around the world. Writer Lee Min-jin describes the sentiments of Koreans dotted with ‘Han’ in a plain style and concisely captures the history of Korean immigrants. Since the author is a two-volume novel, he divides the work that can be boring and lengthy into several chapters. And each chapter contains a new episode. In line with the author s belief that ‘novels should be interesting’, this work has a suction power that makes it impossible to let go of the book. Writer Lee Min-jin puts history into an interesting novel. 『Pachinko』 is a simple narrative about human nature and honest history, and it is a novel that sadly reflects the multiculturalism of the present age. Therefore, it seems that many people around the world can sympathize and respond to his work. 『Pachinko』 is sending a message that we must now end the history of discrimination and hate and lead an honest history. And it can be said that it is a novel that suggests how immigrants living as minorities in the multicultural era must solve and overcome the riddle of discrimination.

한약 단독 치료로 호전된 소양인 환자의 도한 : 후향적 증례보고 6례

Introduction This study is the first to report a significant improvement of Soyangin patients with persistent night sweats through herbal medicine treatment. Methods We reviewed the total of 6 Soyangin patients with moderate to severe persistent night sweats who visited the outpatient clinic. The patients received herbal medicine treatment alone for 4 to 9 weeks. We evaluated the treatment outcome using Night Sweats Degree criteria, developed by Lea and Aber(1985), every other 2 to 4 weeks. In addition, we recorded the treatment period from the first visit to symptom alleviation. Results Persistent night sweats improved significantly in all 6 Soyangin patients, and 4 out of 6 patients had better sleep quality after the treatment. It took 1 to 3 weeks until the symptom alleviated from moderate or severe to mild, and 3 to 7 weeks until the patients have no sign of night sweating. The progression of persistent night sweats and treatment period until no sign of symptom varied according to the Soyangin External and Internal disease diagnosis. Discussion The Soyangin patients having persistent night sweats treated with herbal medicines showed a significant improvement in their symptoms. This result proposes the possibility of using herbal medicine in primary care patients experiencing persistent night sweats.

다직종 암환자 교육·상담에 대한 설문 개발과 환자 만족도 조사

Background: Presently, a multidisciplinary team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and dietitians provides patient education to impart information on chemotherapy. However, studies on multidisciplinary education satisfaction are inadequate. In this study, we aimed to contribute to the improvement of quality of multidisciplinary education counseling for patients with cancer by developing a satisfaction questionnaire and analyzing the satisfaction survey. Methods: A questionnaire was developed by an expert group, and the responses were recorded using the 5-point Likert scale. After conducting a pre-test, factor analysis was performed to evaluate validity. The reliability of the questionnaire was measured by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. A satisfaction survey was conducted by self-administration method. Results: Based on the results of factor analysis, factors can be divided into two parts: "overall education" and "each team member's education" (total 14 questions). The construct validity and reliability of the questionnaire are sufficiently high. Fifty-one patients took the survey between January 2, 2018 and January 20, 2018. Twenty-six (51%) patients responded that they were "very satisfied" and 22 (43.1%) patients responded that they were "satisfied". Conclusion: By developing a questionnaire on multidisciplinary education counseling for patients with cancer, it is possible to perform evaluation and research of cancer patient education. This study will contribute to the management and improvement of quality of multidisciplinary education.

Introduction This study aims to report a significant improvement of Sjögren's syndrome patient with irritable bladder, diagnosed as 'Soyangin chest-binding symptomatology' based on Sasang medicine. Methods The patient had treatment with 'Dojeokganggi-tang' and western medications. We evaluated the treatment outcome of Sjögren's syndrome symptoms by using a numerical score of 0 to 10, based on the patient's subjective discomfort of dry eye and dry mouth, and irritable bladder symptoms by recording the number of night urination every month. Results Sjögren's syndrome symptoms were significantly improved, and the number of night urination was decreased. After 41 weeks of treatment, the patient didn't have dry mouth any more and had only a little dry eye. The number of night urination was decreased from 3-4 times to once a night. Discussion The patient diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome, treated with Dojeokganggi-tang and western medications for 41 weeks, showed a significant improvement in dry eye, dry mouth, and night urination compared to the first visit.

대전천 수계의 장기 모니터링 (2004$\sim$2007)에 의한 물리적, 화학적, 생물학적 평가 변수 분석

본 연구에서는 대전광역시를 관통하는 도심하천인 대전천의 4개 지점을 선정하여, 2004년 8월에서 2007년 10월까지 총 8차례에 걸쳐 생물학적 건강도 평가 및 물리적 서식지 평가를 실시하였고, 환경부 수질측정 망 지점자료를 이용하여 화학적 수질특성을 분석하였다. 물리적 서식지 평가 지수(QUEI)는 평균 78.2(범위: 47$\sim$124)로 "보통상태"(Fair)로 나타났다. QUEI 값은 최상류지점(S1)에서 최대치(112, "양호상태")를 보인 반면, S3에서 SS(보통$\sim$악화상태)로 가장 불량한 서식지 상태를 보였는데, 이는 심각한 하상구조의 교란, 하상도로 및 인위적활동에 의한 것으로 사료되었다. 화학적 수질변수들은 하류로 갈수록 점차 악화되는 것으로 나타나 하천주변 도심으로부터 유입되는 유기물 오염에 의한 것으로 사료되었다. 또한 TP 및 전기전도도(Conductivity)는 집중강우로 인한 희석효과가 뚜렷이 나타난 계절적 변이가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 총 5과 24종 6909개체의 어류가 채집되었고, 피라미(Zacco platypus)가 81.6%로 우점하는 것으로 나타났다. 다변수 어류 평가모델인 생물통합지수(IBI)는 평균 17(범위: 12$\sim$30)"보통상태"(C)로 나타났으며, 하류지점으로 갈수록 생태건강성이 악화되는 양상(S4: 14, "불량상태")을 보였다. 따라서 대전광역시 도심의 상가밀집지역 및 주거지역을 관통하면서 생활하수 유입 및 각종 오염원에 의한 심각한 수질저하 현상에 의한 것으로 사료되었다. We evaluated stream health, based on integrative approaches of qualitative habitat evaluation index (QHEI), chemical water quality and the index of biological integrity (IBI) using fish assemblages in Daejeon Stream during August 2004 - October 2007. The QHEI values in this study averaged 78.2 (n=28, range: 47$\sim$124), indicating "fair" condition based on the criteria of US EPA (1993). The highest value was in the headwater site (S1) that was 112 (good), whereas the value in S3, mid and downstream was SS (fair-poor) that was the lowest owing to a disturbance on the bed and an artificial bank. Concentrations of chemical parameters such as BOD, TP and conductivity increased from the upstream to the downstream due to higher inputs of organic matters and nutrients from the urban area. Conductivity and TP showed a dilution of stream water by rainwater during summer monsoon. Analysis of fish compositions showed that total number of species was 24 and Zacco platypus was predominated (82%). The mean IBI was 17 (range: 12$\sim$30) during four years and the IBI values also decreased from S1 to S4. These results indicated that ecological health was degradated distinctly as the stream goes down through the city-center. We concluded that Daejeon Stream running through the city are influenced by chemical impact such as an influx of domestic sewage as well as the quality of habitat.

정전분체코팅 공정으로 제조된 SUS316L 분말 다공체의 기공 특성에 관한 연구

Porous metals demonstrate not only excessively low densities, but also novel physical, thermal, mechanical, electrical, and acoustic properties. Thus, porous metals exhibit exceptional performance, which are useful for diesel particulate filters, heat exchangers, and noise absorbers. In this study, SUS316L foam with 90% porosity and $3,000{\mu}m$ pore size is successfully manufactured using the electrostatic powder coating (ESPC) process. The mean size of SUS316L powders is approximately $12.33{\mu}m$. The pore properties are evaluated using SEM and Archimedes. As the quantity of powder coating increases, pore size decreases from 2,881 to $1,356{\mu}m$. Moreover, the strut thickness and apparent density increase from 423.7 to $898.3{\mu}m$ and from 0.278 to $0.840g/cm^3$, respectively. It demonstrates that pore properties of SUS316L powder porous metal are controllable by template type and quantity of powder coating.

A Case of Cystitis with Bilateral Hydronephrosis Presenting with Gross Hematuria

평소 건강했던 아이들에서 육안적 혈뇨는 드물게 나타나며, 수신증과 동반된 경우 또한 드물다. 3세 남아가 육안적 혈뇨와 배뇨통을 주소로 내원하였다. 소변검사에서 농뇨, 혈뇨 보였으나 소변 배양 검사에서 균이 배양되지 않았으며, 혈액검사와 신체 검진상에서는 특이 소견 관찰되지 않았다. 초음파 검사상 양쪽 수신증과 함께 방광 벽이 두꺼워진 소견 보였다. 배뇨 요도 방광 조영술상 방광 요관 역류는 관찰되지 않았으나 방광 벽 비후가 심했으며, 방광 용적이 줄어들고 모양이 찌그러져있었다. 진단 후 ceftriaxone을 2주간 치료하였다. 항생제 치료 일주일 후 혈뇨 소실되어 초음파 검사를 다시 시행하였고 양쪽 수신증의 호전과 방광 용적 및 모양이 정상으로 호전됨을 관찰하였다. 환아의 배뇨통 증상도 호전되어 퇴원하였다. 외래 추적 관찰 중에 역류 검사 재 시행하였으며 정상 소견 보였다. 육안적 혈뇨 및 현미경적 혈뇨는 더 이상 관찰되지 않았다. 본 저자들은 육안적 혈뇨를 보인 소아에서 양측성 수신증을 동반한 방광염 1례를 경험하여 보고하는 바이다. Gross hematuria is uncommon, and rarely associated with hydronephrosis in healthy children. We describe a 3-year-old boy who complained of gross hematuria and dysuria. He was diagnosed as cystitis with bilateral hydronephrosis, and treated with antibiotics and conservative therapy. Our experience suggests that cystitis with hydronephrosis can occur in healthy children presenting with gross hematuria.

고콜레스테롤 식이 투여 마우스에서 복분자 미숙과 추출물과 홍삼농축액 복합 투여의 콜레스테롤 개선 효과

본 연구는 복분자 미숙과 물 추출물과 홍삼농축액으로 C57BL/6J 수컷 마우스를 이용하여 콜레스테롤 억제 효과 및 지질대사에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 기능성 식품으로의 가능성을 알아보았다. 실험동물은 C57BL/6J 수컷 마우스를 사용하였으며, 12주 동안 고콜레스테롤 식이를 급여하면서 복분자 미숙과 물 추출물과 홍삼농축액을 경구투여 하였다. 그 결과로 고콜레스테롤 식이군과 비교하였을 때 복분자 미숙과 추출물과 홍삼농축액 식이군에서 체중증가량, 식이섭취량에는 변화가 없었다. 콜레스테롤 합성의 가장 중요한 기작인 LDL receptor와 SREBP2 발현에서는 복분자 미숙과 추출물 투여군과 복분자와 홍삼 복합 투여군 모두 유의적으로 증가하여 세포 안으로의 LDL 흡수를 촉진시킴으로써 체내 콜레스테롤을 낮추는 것으로 판단된다. HDL 관련 유전자 발현에서도 복분자 미숙과 추출물 투여군과 복분자와 홍삼 복합 투여군에서 HDL uptake 유전자인 SR-B1의 발현을 증가시켜 콜레스테롤 개선 효과를 보였다. 또한 간의 형태학적 변화에서는 고콜레스테롤 식이군과 비교하였을 때 복분자 미숙과 물 추출물과 홍삼농축액 복합 투여군에서 지방 형성이 현저히 줄어들었고, leptin과 FAS의 농도를 측정한 결과 유의적으로 감소하였다. 결과적으로 복분자 미숙과 물 추출물과 홍삼농축액 복합 투여가 콜레스테롤과 고지혈증 예방에 긍정적인 효과를 보일 것으로 사료된다. We examined the effects of unripe black raspberry (UBR) and red ginseng (RG) extracts on cholesterol improvement in C57BL/6J mice fed a HCD (high cholesterol diet) for 12 weeks. Hepatic total lipid and total cholesterol contents were significantly induced in hyperlipidemic mice. However, supplementation with UBR, RG and simvastatin effectively reduced these lipid profiles. Further, UBR and co-treatment with UBR and RG increased expression of LDL receptor, SREBP2, and SR-B1 mRNA compared with HCD. The ApoB/ApoA1 ratio was reduced by co-treatment with UBR and RG compared to treatment with UBR. In addition, histopathologic evaluation showed that co-treatment with UBR and RG suppressed lipid accumulation as well as FAS and leptin expression in plasma. These results indicate that co-treatment with UBR and RG may be useful for the prevention of hypercholesterolemia.

이효석 소설의 크로노토프와 여성성 고찰

이 연구에서는 이효석이 재현해 낸 크로노토프를 들여다보고, 그 시공간에서 여성성을 띤 존재로서의 가치를 살펴보고자 한다. 이효석의 작품 중 그동안 다루어지기는 했지만 다소 소외되었던 작품 「계절」(1935), 「석류」(1936), 「장미 병들다」(1938)를 중심으로 살펴보기로 하겠다. 이 세 작품은 이효석의 작품 중 공간의 확장, 시간의 응축, 시공간의 응축과 전치 속 여성성을 띤 인물이 비교적 주체적으로 그려진 작품들이다. 「석류」는 서사의 응축(서사의 강화), 공간성이 가장 약하게 드러난 작품이고, 「계절」은 서사의 약화, 공간성이 가장 강하게 드러난 작품이다. 「장미 병들다」는 시간의 가속, 압축(설명, 요약), 공간(묘사)과 이미지로 형상화된 인물의 내면 심리, 「석류」, 「계절」의 타자들이 가지 못했던 고향(타자에서 주체로의 도약)으로 떠나는 모습을 그리고 있다. 세 작품의 이중 타자들의 주체성은 점진적으로 발현된다. 「석류」에서는 재희가 자신의 ‘첫사랑’을 통해 주체성을 자각하고, 「계절」에서는 보배가 낙태를 통해 주체성을 추동하고, 「장미 병들다」에서는 남죽이 ‘성적자기결정권’을 통해 타자에서 주체로의 여정을 떠난다. 이효석은 현 시대를 살아가는 우리에게 뒤틀림이 있는 시공간이라면 그것을 바로 잡아야 하고, 주체의 동일화가 아닌 타자성을 인정하는 시공간이 되어야 한다고 말하고 있다. 이효석에게 문학이란 길 위에서 끊임없이 반복되는 ‘길’의 담론이라 하겠다. In this study, we will look into the chronotope reproduced by Hyo-Seok Lee, and examine the value of the existence of femininity in that space and time. Among Lee Hyo-seok's works, we will look at the works "Season" (1935), "Pomegranate" (1936), and "The Rose Sick" (1938), which have been discussed but somewhat neglected. Among Lee Hyo-seok's works, these three works are relatively subjectively drawn depicting the expansion of space, the condensation of time, the condensation of space-time, and the femininity in displacement. 「Pomegranate」is the work in which the condensed narrative (strengthening of the narrative) and spatiality are the weakest, and 「Season」is the work that shows the weakest of the narrative and the spatiality. 「Rose Sick」is the acceleration of time, compression (explanation, summary), space (description) and inner psychology of a person embodied in an image, a hometown that others in 「Pomegranate」 and 「Season」 could not go (a leap from others to the subject) ) is depicted leaving. The subjectivity of the double others in the three works is gradually revealed. In 「Pomegranate」, she becomes aware of her subjectivity through her ‘first love’, in 「Season」, she promotes her subjectivity through abortion, and in 「Rose Sick」, she sets out on a journey from the other to the subject through the 'right to sexual self-determination'. Hyo-seok Lee is saying that if space-time is warped in our lives, it should be corrected, and it should be a space-time that acknowledges the otherness of the subject rather than the identity of the subject. For Lee Hyo-seok, literature is a discourse on the ‘road’ that is constantly repeated on the road.
