Biocontrol efficacy of abamectin and entomopathogenic bacteria (Photorhabdus temperata) material against Meloidogyne incognita was evaluated in summer season cultivation of cucumber. The highest control efficacy of 89.2% was observed when suspension concentrate (SC) of 1.68% abamectin was treated once before cucumber plantation and six times after cucumber plantation while 81.8% of biocontrol efficacy was observed with entomopathogenic bacteria metarial. After 109 days from planting, the number of M. incognita was significantly lower than non-treatment, showing 94.7 and 141.3 juveniles per 300 g soil with 1.68% abamectin SC and entomopathogenic bacteria metarial, respectively. Significant difference in the death rate of cucumber was observed between treatment and non-treatment. When treated with 1.68% abamectin SC and entomopathogenic bacteria metarial, death rates of cucumber in greenhouse were 1.7% and 5.3%, respectively, resulting in approximately 70% higher cucumber yield.
