N/A Precent study has been carried out to clarify the ecological characteristics of Tintinnina community, during the period form March, 1998 to January, 1999 at twelve stations in lower Seomjin river system. During the surveryed period, a total of 56 species were identified. Seasonal variation of number of species occurred was varied: 43 species during spring season, 21 species during summer season, 27 species during autumn season, 20 species during winter season. Total abundance of Tintinnina ranged from 0 to 170,134 indiv./㎥. The abundance was high in March and low in September. Among 22 dominant species, 18 species(81.8%) were Tintinnopsis genus. The relationships between environmental factors and Intinnina community were as follows; 11 species(Tintinnopsis rara, T. angulata, T. sp. 1, T. sp. 4, T. sp. 5, T. sp. 8, T. sp. 9, Stenosemella pacifica, S. steini, Codonellopsis nipponica, Favella taraikaensis) occurred from 10 to 15℃ and 2 species(Codonella amphorella, Leprotintinnus neriticus) occurred from 5 to 30℃. Many species occurred from 10.1 to 25.0‰ of salinity. Four species(Tintinnopsis acuminata, T. angulata, T. sp. 10, T. sp. 11) occurred in freshwater only, while four species(Tintinnopsis rapa, T. baltica, T. lata, Codonella sp.) occurred from 0.1 to 31.2‰ of salinity.

        정정의,유형빈 ( Chung Chung Eui,Hyung Bin Yoo ) 한국하천호수학회 1983 생태와 환경 Vol.16 No.3·4

This research performed at the three stations in the Lake Jangseong intends to clarify the ecological characteristics of the Copepoda of freshwater zooplankton during the period from March to June, 1982. The results obtained from this study were as follows; 1. During the investigation period, water temperature ranged from 5 to 26。C, secchi disc from 2 to 3.5m, dissolved oxygen from 3. 8 to 15. 2ppm and pH from 6. 7 to 8. 4. 2. The Copepoda were identified and classified as 2 Suborders, 2 Families, 4 Genera, 5 species. Cyclops vicinus, C. strenuus, Mesocyclops leuckarti, Thermocyclops kyalinus, Canthocamptus staphylinus. 3. Clearly the appearence of the dominant species of the Copepoda fluctuates monthly. Cyclops vicinus was distributed from March to June continuously but particularly in March; C. strenuus in March and April; Mesocyclops leuckrarti and Thermocyclops hyalinus in May and June; Canthocamptus staphylinus in May. Nauplius of Copepoda were distributed during the investigation period continuously. 4. The vertical distribution of the Copepoda appeared centrally at each layer as follows; Cyclops vicinus at the 5 to 20m layer in March, C. strenuus at the 15 to 20m in March and 5 to 10m layer in April, Mesocyclops leuckarti at the 5 to 20m in May and 0 to 15m layer in June, Thermocyclops hyalinus at the 5 to 20m layer in May and June, Canthocamptus staphylinus at the hypolayer in May and Nauplius of Copepoda at the 5 to 10m layer in May. 5. The seasonal variation of the Copepoda`s standing crops varied extensively by month/station, ranging from 1762 to 31716 indiv./m³ and grew in number as time went by from March to June.

In order to clarify the ecological characteristics of Freshwater Copepoda, this study was carried out by monthly during the period from June, 1990 to May, 1991 at six selected stations in Lake Naju, Korea. Throughout the investigation period, total 5 genera and 6 species of the free-living Copepods were identified: Paracyclops fimbriatus, Cyclops vicinus, Mesocyclops leuckarti, Thermocyclops tailhokuensis, T. hyalinus, Canthocamptus carinatus as well as Nauplius of Copepoda. Monthly distribution of copepoda appeared as follows: Paracyyclops fimbriatus distributed in June only; Cyclops vicinus from December to June; Mesocyclops leuckarti from June to January; Thermocyclops taihokuensis from April to January; T. hyalinus from March to January; Canthocamptus carinatus June, October, December, March and April on the bottom, and Nauplius of Copepoda occurred during the period of this study continuously. On the monthly number of species, 7 species occurred in June; 5 species in March, July, October and December; 4 species in January, April, May, August, September and November; 2 species in February. Total biomass of Copepoda ranged from 2,040 (Station 6, May) to 305,891 indiv./L(Station 3, September). Also, biomass of species ranged from 582 to 74, 934 indiv./L. Dominant species were 4 species. thermocyclops taihokuensis, T. hyalinus in Summer and Autumn; Cyclops vicinus and Thermocyclops taihokuensis in Spring; Cyclops vicinus in Winter. While, Nauplius of Copepoda appeared dominant species during the investigation peirod, continuously Dominance index (DI) ranged from 0.56 (June at middle) to 1.00 (November and January at surface; February at surface, middle and bottom; March at middle). Species diversity index (H) ranged from 0.318 (March at surface) to 2.271 (June at middle) and appeared middle, bottom and surface in order. Generally, the dynamics of Copepoda was closely related to the environmental factors (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, transperency and ChloropyII a).
