The purpose of this treatise is to prepare objective and basic data in connection with attitudes and structures of perceptions in daily life of housewives living in Taejon to survey and analyse their attitude and cognitive structures and trace their current life styles and any changes found recently. The focus in this treatise is placed on discovering the status of basic elements in family life such as foods, shelter and clothings and home economics and then look into social involvement and value judgement of housewives through checking on their relationship with family members, friends and neighbors and their social attitudes, leisure and hobby activities and health controls etc. This is an attempt for overall analysis of the life patterns of housewives living in the said territory and focus was on providing basic data on the issues of housewives in future and the results are as follows; (1) While majority of housewives aspires for social activities for this purpose of self-realization socially but they maintained an attitude that happiness of themselves is with success of their husbands and children rather than their own social successes. (2) In connection with raising their children they maintained and attitude of impartiality in their favoring gender of their chidren but still they have more and positive expectations on the futures of their sons rather than daughters. (3) While they perceived values of their works at home as equal to that of their husbands but still kept a high degree for yearning for self realization with social participation. (4) In terms of their attitude they treated natural parents home and homes for their husband`s family as equal but in actuality there appeared chism between their attitude and [ractice as shown through llack of reading and hobbies and impulsive shopping without any preplanning and neglects for self-development while pursuing self-development under the reality of more family members related to their husband side coinhabiting. (5) But it was shown that housewives living in Taejon area have been seeking for scientific life styles based on more rational thinking and building more worthy life environment an women of independence by overcoming traditional customs for this reason the future of the housewives in Taejon area will promise more progress for them.
