오징어 유래 포스파티딜세린(phosphatidylserine)의 in vitro 항염 효과

본 연구에서는 Raw264.7 대식 세포주에서 lipopolysaccharide (LPS)로 유도된 tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α)와 interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β)의 분비에 대한 오징어 유래 포스파티딜세린(phosphatidylserine)의 효과를 확인하였다. Raw264.7 대식 세포주에서 PS의 세포독성 효과는 MTT 분석으로 조사하였으며, TNF-α와 IL-1β의 mRNA 및 단백질의 발현 정도는 각각 RT-PCR 및 ELISA 분석법으로 확인하였다. PS는 100μg/ml 농도까지는 세포 독성을 나타내지 않았으며, 세포 독성을 보이지 않는 농도에서 LPS로 유도된 IL-1β와 특히 TNF-α의 mRNA 및 단백질의 발현을 저해하였다. 이러한 실험 결과는 염증성 질환을 위한 유용한 물질로써 PS의 개발 가능성을 시사한다고 사료된다. In the present study, the effects of squid-derived phosphatidylserine (PS) have been evaluated on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- induced release of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) in the macrophage Raw 264.7 cells. The cytotoxicity of PS in Raw 264.7 macrophages was measured by MTT-based cytotoxicity assay. The mRNA and protein levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-1β were measured by quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. Cytotoxic effects of PS in Raw 264.7 macrophages were not observed at concentration up to 100 μg/ml. Squid PS inhibited the mRNA and protein expression of TNF-α but not IL-1β. Taken together, these results indicated that squid-originated PS exhibited a significant activity of anti-inflammation in vitro and might be a useful candidate for treating various inflammatory diseases. 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 행복감 구조모형

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and test a model of the happiness of mothers with young children based on the stress-coping-adaptation model of Lazarus and Folkman. Methods: The data collection period was from May to July 2016. A self-report questionnaire was used to collect data from 210 mothers with children under 5 years of age living in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon provinces. The exogenous variable was parenting stress, and the endogenous variables were parenting alliance, depression, optimism, ways of coping, and happiness. Data from 201 questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs. Data analyses included descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Results: The final modified model showed a reasonable fit to the data, and out of 25 paths, 13 were statistically significant. This model explained 78.4% of the variance in the happiness of mothers with young children and confirmed that depression, optimism, parenting alliance, and social support-focused coping have a direct effect on the subject’s happiness. Parenting stress also influenced happiness through parenting alliance, depression, and optimism. Conclusion: In order to bolster the happiness of mothers with young children, positive psychological interventions that can minimize psychological vulnerabilities, such as depression, and that can enhance their strengths, such as optimism, may serve as effective ways of coping with and adapting to stress.

다문화가정 학령기 아동의 정신건강과 어머니의 정서·문화적 영향요인

Purpose: This study investigated the current mental health status of school-age children from multicultural families and explored the maternal factors influencing their mental health. Methods: The subjects consisted of 70 pairs of elementary students and their mothers who were registered at Global Children Center in A City and Support Center for Multicultural Families in H County. One of the dependent variables was the children`s mental health measured using the Korea Child Behavior Checklist, and the predictors were the maternal factors measured using the Korean General Health Questionnaire, modified East Asian Acculturation Measure, modified Acculturation Stress Scale for International Students, and reformulated Social Support Scale. Results: 14.7% of the children were within the clinical range for total social competence, and 8.7% showed elevated total behavior problems. Maternal acculturation stress, marginalization, and depression were the predictors of the total social competence, explaining 25.0% of the latter. One of the contributors to the total behavior problems was the maternal mental health, explaining 18.0% of such. Conclusion: The findings indicated that promoting the mental health of children from multicultural families requires comprehensive support for positive acculturation and the promotion of mental health in interracial married women.

COVID-19 팬데믹 기간 중 학령초기 자녀를 가진 여성의 스트레스 취약성, 부모소진이 정신건강에 미치는 영향: 영성의 매개효과

Purpose: This study examined the effects of stress vulnerability and parental burnout on the mental health of women with early school-aged children, with a focus on the mediating role of spirituality. Methods: A survey was conducted among 171 women with early school-aged children in Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and Seoul. Data were collected from September to December 2022 using the Korean-Symptom Check List 95, the Parental Burnout Assessment, and the Spirituality Assessment Scale. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with SPSS/WIN 22.0 and AMOS 20.0. Results: The study model demonstrated a good fit, explaining 40.5% of the variance in mental health through stress vulnerability, parental burnout, and spirituality. Spirituality had a significant direct impact on mental health. Additionally, participants’ spirituality directly influenced their mental health, while stress vulnerability and parental burnout indirectly affected their mental health and were mediated through spirituality. Conclusion: Stress vulnerability and parental burnout are negatively associated with mental health, while spirituality partially mediates these effects. Implementing a program to promote spirituality is suggested to assist mothers in recognizing the value and meaning of parenting activities during nursing interventions for mental health.

Purpose: This study examined the characteristics of preparation to perform activities of suicide prevention according to professional type. Methods: A structural survey was conducted from Dec. 10, 2012 to Jan. 4, 2013 for 355 participants working at suicide prevention institutions in S city. The data were analyzed in terms of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson"s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Self-evaluation knowledge of characteristics was a significant distance depending on education and economic status. Participants were classified according to four groups based on professional type; public health nurse, social worker, fire officer, and administrative staff. Significant differences in experiences in suicide, the several items of self-evaluation knowledge, and the preparation to perform activities of suicide prevention were observed according to professional type (p<.05). Correlation among the experience, self-evaluation knowledge and preparation to perform activities of suicide prevention showed a positive correlation in public health nurse, social worker, and administrative staff (p<.05). In all professional types, the variable that predicted preparation to perform activities of suicide prevention was self-evaluation knowledge (p<.001). Conclusion: Tailor-made suicide prevention programs that affect changes in preparation to perform activities of suicide prevention should be developed by professional types.

흰쥐의 Adjuvant 유발 다발성 관절염에 대한 마황 약침의 치료 효과

The current studies investigated the therapeutic effects of Ephedra sinica Stapf (ES) herb-acupuncture on the inflammatory responses of rat arthritic joint, which was induced by the intradermal injection of heat-killed Mycobacterium tuberculosis emulsified in squalene to the base of the tail. The measurements of body weight and articular index were exploited as the assessment methods addressing arthritic symptoms, and the expression profiles of cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 in the, rat joint were analyzed using RT-PCR. The articular indexes of arthritic rats were significantly restored after the treatment with ES herb-acupuncture. Although the clinical symptoms of arthritic rats were apparently alleviated by the ES treatments, their body weights were not recovered. It maybe due to the weight-loss and energy enhancement effects of ES extracts. The expression of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 enes, which were highly stimulated in the knee joints of arthritic rats, were restored to the levels of normal rats after the ES treatment. The therapeutic effect of ES herb-acupuncture was not observed in ES-treated, non-acupoint arthritic group as a sham control. The ES herb-acupuncture into an acupoint ST36 was found to be effective in alleviating the arthritic symptoms in adjuvant-induced arthritis rats as regards the body weight, joint appearance and the expression profiles of inflammatory cytokines.
