The structural seismic responses with viscous fluid damper were investigated for the multi-story steel braced frames. The analytical modeling including brace stiffness ratio was studied for the response of SDOF system using state equation and direct integration method. Displacement responses from two different methods were compared with various support brace stiffness ratio. The results from two analytical methods were almost same and constant responses were shown in the case of 1.0 or more of brace stiffness ratio. Therefore, most efficient value of brace stiffness was 1.0. For the MDOF system application with viscous fluid damper, seismic performance estimation considering the proposed modeling was investigated based on capacity spectrum method (CSM) and inelastic time history analysis. For the different brace stiffness ratio, different performances were shown. Finally, performance results including proposed modeling by the capacity spectrum method were slight different from the results of inelastic time history. It was shown more precise modeling and methodology were required for the performance estimation using capacity spectrum method.
규산나트륨을 알칼리 자극제로 사용한 알칼리 활성 슬래그 콘크리트의 강도 특성

This study investigated the strength development of alkali-activated slag concrete, which used ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBS) as a source material, based on the mix proportions for alkali activated(AA) mortar from previous research. Alkali-activated slag concrete exhibited excellent early strength development, and the strength was about 1.5 to 3 times higher than ordinary portland cement(OPC) at age 1day and 3days. As strength property with mixing condition, the compressive strength was higher as water-to-binder(W/B) ratio was lower. Although the early strength was higher as the value of alkali quality coefficient QA was higher, the relationship did not continue in the long-term age. The equation proposed from investigation of AA mortar was applied to alkali-activated slag concrete with a slight modification and without additional variable analysis process, and the compressive strength predicted by this modified equation at 28days corresponded well with experimental results.

The paper describes an experimental study on the shear strengthening of concrete beams with exposed wire rope. The strengthening method is using the mechanical bolting of wire rope tensioned on the exterior of beam section. There are two shear strengthening types. The first is closed type wrapped beam section with wire rope like as closed stirrup. The second is U type tensioned at the anchor located in the side of beam section. The results showed that the ultimate shear strength and ductility of strengthened beams increased significantly compared with non-strengthened beams. Especially, the strengthening effect of closed type was very preferable to U type. Therefore, the shear strengthening method with wire rope is very reasonable in view of repair and rehabilitation of beams.
