There was evidence that loneliness was by no means an unusual experience. However, the nature of the loneliness is changing as the person ages. Relying on unstructured but extensive interviews with the 227 elderly Koreans, we found a set of characteristics of loneliness they experienced. They are activity, economy, health, widowhood, relationship with their offsprings, and relationship with their friends. Using paired comparison method with the other 360 elderly, it was found that the loneliness resulting from unsatisfactory relationships with their offsprings was the most pervasive and decisive reason why the elderly Koreans feel loneliness.

미국의 흑백관계에 대한 한국인의 태도

The aims of this investigation are: I) To analyze the opinions and attitudes of 86 Kwangju citizens on: a) Causes of the Black-White conflicts in the U.S. b) Whereabouts of responsibility for the conflicts c) Race riots in the U.S. d) Solutions to the problem II) To find out the extent to which above opinions are supported by philosophers, social scientists, and many other well-known scholars and writers in Korea. 1. Causes of the conflicts: .a) The fundamental cause of the conflict lies in the psychological facts such as the feeling of superiority and racial discrimination of the White Americans towards the Black. This opinion has received the agreement of 88.4 percent of the respondents. It might show that the respondent recognized the importance of psychological aspects of the conflict. This opinion enjoys a strong support by a good deal of scholars and writers. b) Black-White conflict comes out of socio-economic conditions where the Black has to put up with their low incomes and to live in a ghetto collectively. And historical fact, which shows that the ancestors of the Black were brought into the U.S. as slaves, not as free-men, has played the fundamental role of the conflict of today. .Those two opinions have received the agreement of 41 percent and 37 percent respectively. This shows that there are socio-economic and historical conditions as well as psychological facts in the Black-White conflicts. Those opinions also enjoy the support from many writers. 2. Whereabouts of responsibility for conflict: The White is entirely responsible for it. has received a lesser degree of support (41 %) than Both are responsible. (59 %). This suggests that the Koreans realize that the Black has to share responsibility for the conflict with the White even though they regard the psychological condition of the White as a fundamental cause of the conflicts. One scholar put the strong support to the former opinion. He said. When the Black tries to challenge against the institutions, value system, mores. and prejudices of the White in order to secure the equality ... , whatever the results may be, it is clear that the responsibility and causes are attributed to the Whites` attitudes toward colored people, racial prejudice, and their discrimination policy based upon those attitudes and prejudices. 3. Race riots: Because of the reasonability of the Blacks` claim, the riots are considered to be natural action. Although 31 percent of the people agreed to this opinion, it seems to be failed to receive a strong support from the writers. On the other hand, The reasonability of the race riots is not conceived to be strong because the riots are due to agitation by some Blacks, which received only 11 percent of support from Kwangju citizens, gained much stronger support from the publications. However, Although we admit a race riot, those are undesirable phenomena for the sake of America as a typical democratic state and the leader of the free world, deserves to attract our deep attention. This fact seems to suggest that Korean citizens are dissatisfied with the slow tempo in solving the racial problem in the U.S. and, at the same time, it is a frank expression of Koreans towards Americans as one member of the free world. 4. Solutions to the problem: The statement of The conflict will be resolved in the dimension that the Wire has a high regard for Civil Rights of the Black, obtained an overwhelming support (72 %) from the respondent. It may not be an exaggeration when we say that Koreans are expecting for White Americans to abandon their former attitudes toward the Black, and to try to solve the problem in a reasonable way by jumping out of emotional realms. Finally, some point should be mentioned. Education for both Black and White children is really important in solving the Black-White conflict in the U.S.

Mg-xAl-Zn 합금의 용탕유동성 및 기계적 특성

The effect of Al content on the fluidity, tensile and creep properties of Mg-xAl-Zn alloy was investigated. The molten Mg-(3~11)Al-Zn alloys of 700℃ were poured into the mould designed to estimate fluidity. Tensile and creep tests were performed for the alloys and microstructure and fractured region were observed to investigate the mechanism of creep deformation behavior. Results showed the fluidity increased with higher AI content. Creep resistance decreased while tensile strength improved with increasing AI amount. Microstructure revealed that the morphology of Mg(17)AI(12) is the main factor determining tensile and creep properties of as cast Mg-xAl-Zn alloys. Final purpose of this study is to develop the heat resistant Mg alloys to apply transportation systems such as automobile parts. Further study on the effect of heat treatment and additional alloying elements on the microstructure and properties of Mg-xAl alloys is going to be performed.

한국노인들의 자존심에 관한 연구

본 연구는 광주, 전남지역 노인 701명을 대상으로 그들의 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 자존심의 실태를 탐색하고 자존심과 관련이 있는 여러 심리적 특성의 관계를 살펴보았다. 응답자들은 어느 정도 자존심을 갖고 있으며, 각 인구통계적 특성에 따라 차이를 보여주었다. 그들 중 특히 사회적 지원, 생활만족, 주관적 건강감, 사회적 고립감, 배우자 유무 순으로 자존심을 잘 예언해 주었으며, 이들 5개의 변인들이 자존심의 전체변량 중 18.1%를 설명해 주었다. 한편 자존심과 관련된 심리적 제특성들간의 상관분석에서 자존심은 인생만족, 노인생활만족, 애국심과 각각 높은 정적상관을, 고독감, 심리적 긴장, 육체적 긴장과는 각각 높은 부적 상관을 보여주었다. 끝으로 본 연구가 갖는 세가지의 의의와 추후연구를 위한 시사점을 제시하였다. his study was to assess the self-esteem for the elderly Koreans in terms of their demographic characteristics. A battery of self-esteem questionnaires were administered to 422 male and 279 female adults who aged over 60 years old. Results showed that there were significant differences in perceiving self-esteem according to gender, widowhood, and healthiness.

비전 기반 신체 제스처 인식을 이용한 상호작용 콘텐츠 인터페이스

본 논문은 비전 기반 신체 제스처 인식 결과를 입력인터페이스로 사용하는 상호작용 콘텐츠에 대해 기술한다. 제작된 콘텐츠 는 아시아의 공통문화요소인 도깨비를 소재로 사용하여 지역 문화에 친숙하게 접근할 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 콘텐츠를 구성 하는 시나리오는 도깨비와의 결투장면에서 사용자의 제스처 인식을 통해 결투를 진행하므로 사용자는 자연스럽게 콘텐츠 시나리오에 몰입할 수 있다. 시나리오의 후반부에서는 사용자는 시간과 공간이 다른 다중의 결말을 선택할 수 있다. 신체 제스처 인식 부분에서는 키넥트(KINECT)를 통해 얻을 수 있는 각 신체 부분의 3차원좌표를 이용하여 정지동작인 포즈를 활용한다. 비전기반 3차원 인체 포즈 인식 기술은 HCI(Human-Computer Interaction)에서 인간의 제스처를 전달하기 위한 방법으로 사용된다. 특수한 환경에서 단순한 2차원 움직임 포즈만 인식할 수 있는 2차원 포즈모델 기반 인식 방법에 비해 3차원 관절을 묘사한 포즈모델은 관절각에 대한 정보와 신체 부위의 모양정보를 선행지식으로 사용할 수 있어서 좀 더 일반적인 환경에서 복잡한 3차원 포즈도 인식할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 인간이 사용하는 제스처는 정지동작인 포즈들의 연속적인 동작을 통해 표현이 가능하므로 HMM을 이용하여 정지동작 포즈들로 구성된 제스처를 인식하였다. 본 논문에서 기술한 체험형 콘텐츠는 사용자가 부가적인 장치의 사용 없이 제스처 인식 결과를 입력인터페이스로 사용하였으며 사용자의 몸동작만으로 자연스럽게 콘텐츠를 조작할 수 있도록 해준다. 본 논문에서 기술한 체험형 콘텐츠는 평소 접하기 어려운 도깨비를 이용하여 사용자와 실시간 상호작용이 가능케 함으로써 몰입도와 재미를 향상시키고자 하였다. In this paper, we describe interactive contents which is used the result of the inputted interface recognizing vision-based body gesture. Because the content uses the imp which is the common culture as the subject in Asia, we can enjoy it with culture familiarity. And also since the player can use their own gesture to fight with the imp in the game, they are naturally absorbed in the game. And the users can choose the multiple endings of the contents in the end of the scenario. In the part of the gesture recognition, KINECT is used to obtain the three-dimensional coordinates of each joint of the limb to capture the static pose of the actions. The vision-based 3D human pose recognition technology is used to method for convey human gesture in HCI(Human-Computer Interaction). 2D pose model based recognition method recognizes simple 2D human pose in particular environment On the other hand, 3D pose model which describes 3D human body skeletal structure can recognize more complex 3D pose than 2D pose model in because it can use joint angle and shape information of body part Because gestures can be presented through sequential static poses, we recognize the gestures which are configured poses by using HMM In this paper, we describe the interactive content which is used as input interface by using gesture recognition result. So, we can control the contents using only user's gestures naturally. And we intended to improve the immersion and the interest by using the imp who is used real-time interaction with user.

족관절 골절에서 생체흡수성 판과 나사못으로 고정 후 지연성 이물질 반응 -증례 보고-

L-lactide, D-lactide and trimethylene carbonate 등의 중합체로 구성되어 있는 생체 흡수성 판과 나사못이 현재 사용되고 있다. 최근 이러한 생체 흡수성 판과 나사못을 이용한 족관절 골절의 치료에서 지연성 이물질 반응이 발생하였다는 보고가 국외에 있었으나 국내에는 없었다. 족관절 골절에서 생체흡수성 판과 나사못을 이용하여 고정술 후 발생한 지연성 이물질 반응을 보인 환자를 경험하였기에 보고하고자 한다. 아울러 생체흡수성 판과 나사못을 이용하여 고정술 시 지연성 이물질 반응의 발생 가능성에 대해 고려하고 수술후 최소 2년간 추시 관찰할 것을 추천하고자 한다. Biodegradable implants made of co-polymers composed of L-lactide, D-lactide, and trimethylene carbonate were used in the present case. To our knowledge, only one reported tissue reaction has been associated with ankle fracture treated with third-generation implants internationally and none yet domestically. We report a delayed foreign-body reaction of ankle fracture treated with a third-generation biodegradable plate and screws. We suggest that ankle fracture patients treated with biodegradable implants should be advised of this possible complication and should be followed for at least 2 years.

풀브리지 DC-DC 컨버터의 도전손실과 스위칭 스트레스를 저감한 전원장치 개발

This paper is indicating the problems, which are the conduction loss on the high frequency transformer, the protection of rectification diode as the snubber loss and the stress of switching main devices, as be made high current and high speed in the phase-shift switching full-bridge DC-DC converter is used the power supply's main circuit of high capacity. In this paper, to improve those problems, it is proposed that is the resonant circuit auxiliary can be reduced conduction losses and stabilized output control. And, it is constructed prototype of the power supply as the result of computer simulations.
