      • 도시철도 노선개편 실행방안 -5, 9호선 직결을 중심으로-

        Like most global metropolitan cities, Seoul also faces challenges of oil price and global climate changes. Thus, in the field of transportation, Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has to take a measure to reduce car use and to encourage transit use. Rationalizing metro system is a good candidate for accomplishing this. SMG has fairly good infrastructure of urban railway compared to international competing cities. However, its utilization is not at satisfactory level. Metro stations with the same size of catchment area and similar development intensity do not attract the same number of passengers. On the other hand, several segments of Seoul Metro lines suffered from severe congestion in peak hour every day. This discrepancy is due to a network problem such as irrational line alignment and inconvenient transfer. In 2003, Seoul Development Institute(SDI) proposed a solution to sort out the problem, so called the network reshuffle of Seoul metro. The network reshuffle is characterized by physical connection between different two metro lines and provision of a new direct service across them. It is true that so far, various negative issues with regard to implementing the network reshuffle have been raised from experts in the field of urban railways. This study aims at verifying that the network reshuffle for Seoul metro can be implemented practically. Among several candidate plans of network reshuffle, the direct connection of line 5 and 9 was chosen as a pilot study. Residents in Kangdong area of Seoul, who the pilot study directly affects, are suffering from discrepancy between their trip destinations and metro line`s alignment. While line 5 covering Kandong area is heading for the old center of Seoul, most commuters has their office in Kangnam in the west of Kangdong. Fortunately, a new metro line(line 9) is under construction, which will connect Kandong and Kangnam areas. However, even after provision of line 9 service, commuters from Kangdong to Kangnam will have to go through transfers more than twice. In this context, direct connection of the two lines is essential for enhancing transit utility and reducing car-using commuters. The network reshuffle connecting line 5 and 9 can change the situation that most people in Kangdong area turn down metro as their commuting mode. Three alternatives were established to carry out economic feasibility study for the pilot study. All alternatives include a two-way link connecting line 5 and 9 at Olympic park station. The first alternative assumes that a one-way tunnel is constructed, which links Sangil(or Kildong) to Olympic park. The second alternative installs a short siding at Kangdong station to accommodate newly added trains running from Sangil to Olympic park. The third alternative is the same as the second alternative except it includes a connection to Machon as well. It turned out that the benefit to cost ratio (B/C) exceeded the critical value of 1 for each alternative. The second alternative with the largest value of B/C was chosen to be optimal. There are several technical issues for implementing the optimal alternative. The construction issues arise because it is very hard to make a branch from an metro line operated in an underground tunnel. Construction methods such as diamond wire saw or underpinning make it possible to do that. There are also operational issues of whether newly added trains can be accommodated properly without changes in operation of an existing line. It was found from a fine-tuned train schedule that trains across the two different lines can be operated with 5 minute headway. Besides the above technical issues, there are also institutional or other considerations for implementing the optimal alternative. Master plan of line 9 should be revised, which requires consensus of several parties such as citizen, officials, and experts. In addition, an agency of line 9 operation would indemnify the agency in charge of operation of the existing line 5 for the loss of its revenue. The project can be funded by public finance(PF) or private public partnership(PPP). While PPP is preferred to expedite the construction process, PF has an advantage when stressing a single operation across both metro lines. In conclusion, this study verified that implementing the network reshuffle proposal is both economically and technically feasible. It is strongly suggested that SMG accept the network reshuffle proposal as a future plan for Seoul metro.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate changes to consumers' satisfaction and behavior with their credit card usage after the personal information leakage incident by credit card companies in 2014. For that purpose, the study conducted a survey with 500 consumers using a credit card on August 29~September 15, 2014 by commissioning Macromil Embrain, a survey specialist, to do the survey. The major findings were as follows: First, consumers voiced serious concerns about the personal information leakage incident in the aspect of "vulnerability of finance security." Second, there were many consumers that suffered damage after the personal information leakage incident, and the number of consumers disinterested in their personal information was considerable, as well. The most popular response to the incident was "application for card reissuance and cancellation," which was followed by "no response." Third, the concerned card companies scored low under three points on reliability on average after the personal information leakage incident. Fourth, consumers intended to reduce the usage of all of their credit cards after the personal information leakage incident, but there were few changes to their credit card usage. Finally, there were no statistically significant differences in the effects of consumer complaint management on their credit card usage. The more "dissatisfied" they were with consumer complaint management, however, the more they tended to reduce the number of their credit cards, move to another credit card company, and change the credit cards they usually used.

        산세수와 게껍질을 이용한 신기능성 철분 비료의 상추 생육 촉진 효과

        작물 재배에서 빈번히 발생되는 철분 부족 현상은 식물의 생육 저하와 생산성 감소를 야기한다. 철분의 흡수는 철분 킬레이트제를 이용해서 높일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 제철산업의 부산물인 산세수 유래의 2가 철 이온을 게껍질(CSP)에 킬레이트시킨 신기능성 철분 비료(FCSP)를 제작하고, 상추 재배에 적용하여 생육 촉진 효과를 분석하였다. 제조한 철 비료의 효과를 검증하기 위해, 연구실 내 소규모 시험에서 무처리구, 게껍질 처리구, 그리고 여러 농도의 Fe-게껍질 킬레이트 처리구에서 상추의 생장을 분석한 결과, 50 ppm Fe-게껍질 킬레이트 처리구에서 엽수, 엽중, 엽장 및 엽폭이 무처리구와 게껍질 처리구에 비해 증가하였으며, 상추 잎의 엽록소의 함량 또한 증가하였다. 포장 시험 역시 50 ppm Fe-게껍질 킬레이트 처리구에서 엽수, 엽중, 엽장 및 엽폭에서 화학비료와 퇴비를 혼합한 기존 재배 방식 처리구에 비해 최대 2배 이상의 증가를 보였고, 식물체내 Fe의 함량 또한 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한 철 이온을 게껍질에 킬레이트한 비료의 처리가 토양 내의 Fe와 Ca의 함량을 증가시켰으며 유효인산과 유기물의 함량 또한 증가시켜 토질을 개선시키는 효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과들을 종합할 때, Fe-게껍질 킬레이트 복합체는 기존의 비료 처리 방식인 화학비료와 퇴비 사용 보다 뛰어난 생육 증대 효과와 토질 개선 효과를 나타냄으로써 작물 재배에 있어서 효과적인 신기능성 철분 소재로서 활용 가치가 있을 것으로 사료된다. Iron (Fe) is an important micronutrient for the health and growth of plants. Iron is usually provided by fertilizers, and iron-chelate fertilizers are well absorbed by plants. This study presents the plant growth-promoting effects of a new functional iron fertilizer, Fe-chelating crab shell powder (FCSP), which is generated from the chelation of Fe ions with crab shell powder. Iron chelate was derived from spent pickling liquor, which is rich in reductive iron, iron(II) oxide. To analyze the effects of FCSP on plant growth, we treated lettuce with several concentrations of FCSP in both lab- and field-scale experiments. In the lab-scale test, the treatment of 50 ppm of FCSP highly promoted growth and resulted in increases in the size, weight, number and chlorophylls content of leaves of plants compared to the treatment of crab shell powder. Fifty ppm of FCSP also increased the size and weight of leaves up to 2 times compared to the application of chemical fertilizer and/or compost in field conditions. In addition, the FCSP treatment resulted in the highest ion uptake of Fe in lettuce leaves. Moreover, FCSP led to increases in the amounts of Fe, Ca, available phosphorus and organic matter in treated soil, indicating that soil quality was improved. Taken together, our results demonstrate that FCSP promotes lettuce growth via enhancement of Fe availability and improves soil quality. Therefore, FCSP can be utilized as a new functional iron fertilizer.

      • 경부 결핵성 임파선염 환자에서 PCR-RELP를 이용한 결핵균의 검출 및 확인

        결핵의 진단은 특징적 병리조직양상, 항산균 염색에 의한 균 증명과 M. tuberculosis균 배양으로 이루어지나 형태적으로는 결핵이 의심되더라도 항산균이 조직표본이나 도말에서 검출되지 않거나 M. tuberculosis가 배양되지 않아 정확한 원인적 진단이 불가능할 경우가 많다. 이에 저자들은 경부 결핵성 임파선염으로 적출되어 보내어진 경부 임파선 조직의 신선한 조직이나 통상적으로 처리되어 제작된 파라핀 블록을 이용하여 M. tuberculosis에 특수한 반복성 DNA sequence인 IS986를 표적으로 한 primers을 사용하여 nested PCR방법을 이용하여 예민도가 높은 M. tuberculosis 검출로 빠른 시간 내에 결핵을 진단하고자 본 연구를 실시하였다. 최근 유전자 기술의 진보로 M. tuberculosis의 여러 항원들의 유전자가 클론화되고 그 염기 배열이 밝혀졌으며 이에 저자들은 결핵의 확진을 위하여 파라핀 포매조직을 대상으로 nested PCR에 의한 188bp의 DNA를 증폭한후 증폭한 DNA분절의 염기 배열을 결정한 후 Bst UI와 Hha I 효소를 이용한 소화과정을 거친 후 restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP)을 은염색에 의해 그 패턴에 의해 M. tuberculosis를 확인하고 또한 다른 종의 Mycobacteria를 배제시킬 수 있었다. 본 방법은 1 ∼ 2일에 끝나며, 방사선물질을 사용하지 않으면서도 감도 및 특이성이 우수하여 일반 병리실힘실에서도 M. tuberculosis를 포함한 각종 항산균의 신속한 검출법으로 손쉽게 사용할 수 있다고 생각되어 이에 보고하였다. Tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis is still an important cause of neck mass in Korea. Tuberculosis is an important differential diagnosis in patients of cervical lymphadenopathy. Rapid and sensitive test for the diagnosis of tuberculosis is essential for the approapiate treatment. Up to now, conventional diagnostic methods for M. tuberculosis were acid-fast bacilli(AFB) stain and culture of M. tuberculosis. The direct microscopic examination of AFB by Ziehl-Neelsen stain is rapid, but often negative. The culture for M. tuberculosis is time-consuming, taking 4 to 8 weeks. Recently various methods to detect Mycobacterial DNA, including PCR and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) analysis have been reported. Here we represent a simple method for the confirmation of M. tuberculosis and exclusion of the other Mycobacterial species by RFLP analysis and silver staining of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis after nested PCR for a repetitive DNA sequence(IS986) specific for M. tuberculosis from fresh or paraffin-embedded biopsy specimens. This result leads us to conclude that this method is simple, rapid and possibly applicable to confirm M. tuberculosis and rule out the other Mycobacteria species from the clinical specimens in the clinical laboratories.
