Awkward work postures in workshop highly affect on work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs). Especially, in automobiles assembly process, these awkward work postures of workers may cause serious injury and illness. This study is to compare the performance among the evaluation tools which can measure the work-loads caused by the awkward work postures in automobiles assemble process. RULA, REBA and TVAL(Toyota Verification of Assembly Line) are used as the evaluation tools. The 85 jobs selected in the automobiles assembly process are applied to the three tools and their performances are analyzed after the evaluation of the work-load in each job. Through various measures of performance such as statistical test, DUNCAN test, regression test etc., the tendencies and characteristics among them are analyzed in detail.
New Aggregation Algorithm for Tandem queue with Finite Buffers

We consider a two-stage fmite tandem queueing system with Poisson arrivals and negative exponential service times. The customer who has completed his service at the first station has to go directlty to the second station. If the queue of the second station is full at the moment of the service completion of the customer at the first station, then the customer receives, another service at the first station. This is repeated until the customer completes a service at the first station at the moment that the second station is not fulL The problem of calculating the steady-state probabilities of this queueing system by the ordinary balance equations is time consuming. We develop an efficient algorithm to obtain the steady-state probabilities that utilize the two-way state aggregation techniques.
Adaptive Genetic Local Search Algorithms for System Reliability Optimization

N/A This paper proposes an adaptive genetic local search (aGLS) algorithm for effectively solving system reliability optimization problems. The proposed aGLS hybridizes a local search technique and genetic algorithm (GA). The local search technique is incorporated into the GA loop and its scheme is adaptively regulated with respect to the similarity among the individuals of GA population. For more various comparisons with the proposed aGLS, conventional GLS algorithm with local search that does not use any adaptive scheme is also suggested. These two algorithms are tested and analyzed using two complex system reliability optimization problems. Numerical result shows that the proposed aGLS outperforms the conventional GLS.
