Studies on the scour characteristics generated in the facilitated ground of artificial reefs are necessary to improve the stability of artificial reefs. The scour generated in the facilitated ground can be influenced by various parameters, such as the shape, scale, and location of reefs, sea-water flow, and ground properties. The impact factors that most affect the scour of artificial reefs are the characteristics of flow and ground. In the results of the calculation of the scour depth for the width of artificial reefs, 2m, 4m, 8m, 12m, and 16m, using the observed scour characteristics and the SRICOS method.

Burial amount and constructed states of artificial reefs were investigated with Side Scan Sonar, Multi Beam Echo Sounder and Sub-bottom Profiler at Jeonranamdo coastal water. We estimated probale burial amount at artificial reefs using field investigation data, and could verify total burial amount by laboratory experiments.

N/A When fabricating a vision chip, we should consider the noise problem, such as the fixed pattern noise(FPN) due to the process variation. In this paper, we propose an edge-detection circuit based on biological retina using the offset-free column readout circuit to reduce the FPN occurring in the photo-detector. The offset-free column readout circuit consists of one source follower, one capacitor and five transmission gates. As a result, it is simpler and smaller than a general correlated double sampling(CDS) circuit. A vision chip for edge detection has been designed and fabricated using 0.35 pm 2-poly 4-metal CMOS technology, and its output characteristics have been investigated.

In this study, scouring amount was measured artificial reefs group deployed study area. It is expected that a counter measure for scouring around artificial reefs could be considered at real sea area through this surveying. According to the result, it showed that scouring of artificial reefs were depended on size and adhesiveness of soil particle, and tidal current.

Recently in Korea, a marine ranching project has continued to grow with the increasing needs of sea development. Management techniques, including settlement reduction and scour protection, have been required for constructing and maintaining the artificial reefs of this marine ranching project. The generation of settlement and scour can be influenced by ground characteristics. In this study, various laboratory tests (penetration test, two-dimensional water tank test) were performed to determine the settlement and scour characteristics of artificial reefs under various ground conditions. Three kinds of ground reinforcement were prepared: unreinforced, geogrid, and hybrid bamboo mat. Penetration test results showed that the normalized settlement ratio of ground reinforced with a hybrid bamboo mat was smaller than those of unreinforced ground and geogrid-reinforced ground. Two-dimensional water tank test results showed that the scour characteristics of ground reinforced with a geogrid were more reduced and stable than unreinforced ground. The amount of scour and ground settlement also decreased with increasing reinforced area.
