북한 과학환상소설에 나타난 사회주의 낙원과 역사적 조건들 -김동섭의 「바다에서 솟아난 땅」을 중심으로-

북한의 과학환상문학은 1950년대 말부터 등장하기 시작했다. 전후복구사업과 사회주의 국가 건설을 위해서 과학기술의 도움은 필수적이었다. 실재 북한은 과학기술에 많은 지원을 했으며, 이는 천리마운동을 통해 더욱 확산되었다. 김동섭의 ?바다에서 솟아난 땅? 역시 이러한 배경 속에서 탄생하였다. 어린이 잡지인 ??아동문학??에 1964년 6월부터 11회 연재된 이 작품은 사회주의 낙원을 건설하기 위해 바다 속의 땅을 육지로 만드는 과정을 보여주고 있다. 그 과정을 통해 천리마운동의 기술혁명, 사상혁명을 구현하고 있다. 유토피아 지향성은 자립경제의 열망과 연결되어 있으며, 이를 실현할 천리마 기수는 당시 ‘붉은 과학자’의 모습으로 그려지고 있다. 특히 어린이로 표상되는 새로운 세대와 구세대의 대조는 세대론의 시각을 넘어서고 있다. 이는 새 것과 낡은 것, 진보와 보수 등을 함의하고 있으며, 결국 새로운 사회주의 국가는 새로운 세대에 의해 이루어져야 함을 강조하고 있다. In North Korea, North Korean Science Fiction began to appear from the end of the 1950s. The help of scientific technology was essential for the restoration project before and after the war, and for constructing a socialist nation. In reality, North Korea has supported scientific technology in many aspects. This was reinforced further through Chollima Movement. Kim Dong-seop’s “Land Surging from the Sea” was produced under this background. This work, which had been published serially 11 times from June in 1964, in children’s magazine Children’s Literature, is showing the process of making the ground in the sea as the land in order to construct paradise of socialism. Through the process, it is implementing the technical revolution and the ideological revolution. The orientation toward utopia is deeply connected with a burning desire for independent economy. A flag bearer of Chollima, who will realize this, is being depicted as the image of ‘red scientist’ at that time. Especially, the contrast between new generation, which is represented by children, and old generation, is surpassing the sight of generational theory. This is suggesting the new & the old and the progress & conservatism. Ultimately, the new socialist nation is being emphasized to be necessarily accomplished by new generation.

몇 가지 천연식물 발효액의 제조 및 생리기능성

Three kinds of plant fermentation broths and one liquor were prepared using persimmon, Ulmus davidiana var. japonica and barley, and investigated its physiological functionality. Anti-aging antioxidants activity was the highest of 99% in Ulmus dacidiana bar. japonica liquor and also was high in the persimmon vinegar(68.3 %). SOD-like activity show also 80.6% in the Ulmus davidiana var japonica liquor however the other fermentation broths were less 25%. Antihypertensive angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory activity and fibrinolytic activity were weak or not detected in all the fermentation broths. Anti-dementia acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity were showed 54.7% in the Ulmus davidiana var. japonica liquor. Our results showed that the Ulmus davidana var. japonica liquor has the potential to become a new functional liquor because of high antioxidant activity and anti-dementia activity. 고부가가치를 가진 천연식물 발효음료를 개발하기 위하여 감과 보리, 백야초와 느릅나무 등을 이용하여 3종류의 발효액과 1종류의 침출주를 제조한 후 이들의 생리기능성을 조사하였다. 노화관련 생리기능성으로 항산화활성은 느릅나무 침출주에서 99%로 제일 높았고 감으로 제조한 감식초에서도 68.3%를 보였다. 또한 SOD 유사활성은 느릅나무 침출주에서 80.6%로 제일 높았으나 여타의 발효액에서는 25% 미만의 낮은 활성을 보였다. 심혈관질환관련 생리기능성으로 항고혈압성 안지오텐신 전환효소(ACE) 저해활성과 혈전용해활성은 모두 11% 이하의 낮은 활성을 나타내었고 항치매성 아세틸콜린 에스터레이즈(AChE) 저해활성은 느릅나무 침출주에서 54.7% 높았으나 여타의 시료에서는 10% 미만의 낮은 활성을 보였다. 이상의 결과들을 종합하여 볼 때 대체로 느릅나무 침출주가 강력한 항산화활성을 갖고 있고 SOD 유사활성과 AChE 저해활성도 우수하였으므로 고부가가치의 건강 주류로 산업화가 가능한 것으로 사료된다.

재난사회의 은유와 가족 그리고 전통

본 논문의 목표는 일본의 재난서사에 나타난 가족주의와 전통의 역할을 고찰하는데 있다. 연구대상으로는 영화 〈바닷마을 다이어리〉, 〈심야식당〉을 대상으로 한다. 이들 작품은 재난을 노골적으로 드러내고 있지는 않지만 오히려 재난을 은유화함으로써 일상 속에 편재된 재난의 정도(degree)를 보여준다. 일본의 재난서사에서 응전의 방식은 전통이라는 과거에 의지하는 것이다. 그들에게 과거는 지나간 시간이 아니라 자신의 정체성을 부여하는 강한 힘이다. 재난서사는 그 대타자의 상실에 대한 애도이자 소환의 장치이다. 재난서사는 사라져만 가는 실낙원에 대한 간절한 회복의 소망이며, 수미상관의 구조를 통해 과거와 미래가 동일한 순환의 시간구조임을 보여주고자 한다. 그들은 매일매일 갈등을 겪겠지만 결국은 ‘아무 일도 일어나지 않았던 그 시점(과거)’으로 돌아감으로써 재난이 존재하지 않았던 시간으로 되돌아가는 무한반복의 추상적 무시간성의 세계를 구축한다. The aim of this paper is to consider the role of familyism and tradition in Japan"s disaster movies. The study covers the movies Bad Village Diary and The Night Restaurant. These works do not explicitly reveal disasters, but rather show the degree of disasters that have been committed in everyday life by metaphorizing them. The way to fight back in Japan"s disaster movies is to rely on the past of tradition. For them, the past is not a passing time but a powerful force that gives them their identity. Disaster movies are a source of mourning and summons for the loss of the batter. Disaster movies are the desire for a recovery of the dying paradise, and through the structure of Sumi, the movie aims to show that the past and the future are the same cycle of time. They will go through daily conflicts, but eventually return to the "time of day" where nothing happened, creating an abstract, non-time-free world that returns to a time when disaster did not exist. However, it is historical backward and psychologically obsessive.

북한 과학환상문학에 나타난 ‘과잉열정’과 과학적 해결방식

본고의 목적은 북한 과학환상문학에 나타난 과잉열정의 문제와 이에 대한 해결방식을 고찰하는데 있다. 과학환상문학에 등장하는 모든 아이들은 스스로 자신의 욕망을 억압한다. 각 작품의 서두에서 각 인물들은 자신만의 개성을 지니고 있지만 결말로 가면서도 모두 동일한 인물로 귀결되고 있다. 여기에는 북한이 가지고 있는 어린이에 대한 특별한관점 때문이다. 이는 어린이를 교정되지 않은, 혹은 교정을 기다리는 불완전한 존재로 바라보는 것이다. 북한 과학환상문학 속의 어린이는 마치 절제 되지 않는 리비도나 카오스 같은 존재로 바라보고 있다. 이러한 내면이 표출된 양태가 바로 개인주의나 이기심, 영웅심리라는 것이다. 이처럼 북한이 바라보는 어린이의 본질이란 예측불가능성과 폭력성에 있다. 하지만 진정한 두려움은 그것의 효과이다. 결코 죽지 않는 예측불가능성은 북한이 꿈꾸는 유토피아에 종말을 가져올 수 있기 때문이다. 그래서 북한 과학환상문학은 어린이의 과잉열정을 과학적 합법칙성을 통해 중화하고자 한다. The purpose of this study is to identify the image and cause of characters suppressing their desire in North Korean science fiction. All children in scientific and fantastic literature suppress their desire. Characters have their personality at the beginning of literary works, but all of them show same image at the ending of works. That``s the reason why North Korean people have particular opinions about children. Children in scientific and fantastic literature suppress their selfishness, self-sufficiency, heroism, and so on, because this matter is related to essential problem, which is beyond moral enlightenment towards negative mentality. The essential problem is a fear of ``children``. In North Korea, children are regarded as incomplete human beings who are not yet corrected or should be corrected. Their inner world is regarded as chaos and intemperate libidinal condition. Therefore, in North Korea, the essence of children is focused on unpredictability and out-of-control. However, the real fear of children character is its effect. The thing of ``unpredictability``, which does not die and can be changed freely, may drive into apocalyptic catastrophe from Utopia that North Koreans want. North Korean scientific and fantastic literature controls the excessive passion of children by combining it with scientific character.

북한 과학환상문학에 나타난 파타포(pataphor)적 상상력과 향유 없는 유토피아

본 연구는 북한과확환상문학에 나타난 파타포적 상상력과 소비없는 유토피아를 고찰하는데 있다. 특히 과학적 상상력과 동화적 상상력의 결합 방식이 유토피아의 형상화에 미치는 영향에 주목하고자 한다. 북한의 유토피아 기획은 경제적 자립에 대한 열망에서 비롯되었다. 사회주의권 국가들과의 매끄럽지 못한 관계는 북한으로 하여금 외로운 선택을 할 수밖에 없는 상황으로 만들었다. 국제정세의 불안정과 함께 안으로는 신구세대간의 갈등이 표면화되기 시작했다. 그럼에도 과학환상문학이 그리는 미래는 늘 희망적이었다. 그곳에는 최신의 다양한 과학실험과 발명품들이 생산되고 있었으며, 유전학에 의한 거대동식물은 음식문제를 해결해주고 있었다. 또 로봇들은 인간에게 노동의 해방을 안겨주었으며, 불로장생의 약을 통해 수명에 대한 걱정이 사라지고 있었다. 중요한 점은 이러한 동화적 환상이 가상의 상태로 머물지 않고 일정한 실재감을 얻고 있다는 것이다. 가상과 현실이 중첩되어 현실감을 획득하는 것을 파타피지컬한 세계라고 부른다. 프랑스 작가 알프레드 자라의 신조어인 파타피직스는 상상적 해결의 과학으로서, 가상성으로 기술되는 대상의 속성들을 그것들의 용모(lineament)와 상징적으로 조화시키는 것을 말한다. 과학환상문학의 파타피지컬한 상황은 동화적 상상력의 가상성을 과학적 상상력과의 결합을 통해 구체성을 확보하며, 한편으로는 단지 배경으로만 존재하는 소비없는 유토피아를 그려낸다. This study purposes to analyze imagination of pataphor of and useless utopia in North Korean Science Fiction. Especially We will research scientific and fairy imagination coexist and non-consumption of utopia in North Korean Science Fiction. The utopia-orientation is connected with a burning desire for independent economy. Especially, the contrast between new generation which is represented by children, and old generation is surpassing the sight of generational theory. Always utopia in North Korean Science Fiction was hopeful future. There are various invention as a result of advanced technology and skills. Mega plants and animal that created through genetic engineering resolve the food problem. And robot works instead of men. People of life increases as a result of elixir of life. Utopia in North Korean Science Fiction emphasize scientific illusions. Because Science Fiction needs feasibility. Absurd illusion cannot enlighten and attract the public. The point I wish to emphasize is that utopia in North Korean Science Fiction was made pataphysical condition mixed scientific and fairy imagination. Pataphysics is a philosophy or media theory dedicated to studying what lies beyond the realm of metaphysics. The concept was coined by French writer Alfred Jarry (1873.1907), who defined ``pataphysics as the science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically attributes the properties of objects, described by their virtuality, to their lineaments. There are pataphysical condition of two aspect. First, pataphysical condition secure concreteness through scientific imagination and dream of utopia through fairy imagination. Another there are non-consumption of utopia in North Korean Science Fiction. Utopia presents only setting. Non-consumption of utopia resulted excess of desire cause catastrophe in the world.

북한 아동문학의 장르인식과 형상화 원리

This study takes aim at inquiring the fairy tales of North Korea in 1990's. Theory of genres is a principle of order. It classifies literature and literary history not by time or place(period or national language)but by specifically literary types of organization or structure. Genre should be conceived as a grouping of literature works based, theoretically, upon both outer form and also upon inner form. But the fairy tales of North Korea are against the regulations. Ideology is the only criterion of genre of North Korea literature. The fairy tales of North Korea are raising the person equipped with Marxist ideology and able to perform juche thought. North Korea Language Education plays a greate important role as a tool or means in making and changing the children into the powerful a revolutionist equipped with a strong ideology. This powerful, centralized system of literature would gradually internalize socialist idea. Under this system of state control, the fairy tales sought to represent and promote socialist idea that could aid the wider process of state formation underway in North Korea at this time. When characterizing textbook content, a number of messages that become cleary visible were the value of work and loyalty to leadership in the form og Kim Il Sung and Kim Jung Il. In addition, through literary text, children were presented with a number of ideals and role model-child soldiers who fought for their country.

During the Korean War, in order to spread out anti-communism, firstly it was necessary to collect-superficiallysuppressive communist languages. To infuse strong anticommunism, communist languages that opposed anti-communist were required. The record of servicing in war, the record of refuge, the record of suffering, and the record of experiences, were produced in wartime, and composed of anti-communist text, were not different from ‘evidence’ at all. Therefore, there is a denominator between confession and evidence, and that is ‘to confess’. In anti-communist text, ‘making them a monster’ is a typical method to define North Korea as communist. Replacing communist with a monster fixes places for South and North Korea as a confrontational composition, such as a person vs a monster, normalcy and abnormality, reason and madness. That justifies themselves in murdering the same tribe. In addition, that is applied for a function to empathize and expand the superiority of South Korea.
