The author studied the actual conditions on the production of dental prosthesis made in laboratories, and also studied interrelationships between dentists and laboratory technicians in both personal and technical aspects. Two hundred-eighty four technicians, work in dental laboratories presently, were surveyed via mail and direct contact during the period from June 1 to June 30 and August 27 to August 28 in 1994 respectively. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Among the respondents, 90.5% we re working in commercial dental laboratories and their laboratories were mainly located in the Seoul area(40.9%, P<0.05). The numbers of employees in these laboratories were less than 10 persons(70.0%, P<0.01), and 75.9% of these laboratories have been in operation less than 15 years. 2. Most laboratory procedures were accomplished according to established disciplines. However, procedures such as die trimming in fixed restorations and the qualifications of the people designing removable partial dentures were not. Other problem areas were boxing of the working cast, the person determining the posterior palatal seal area, selection and arrangement of artificial teeth, occlusion rim correction and laboratory remounting of the processed denture in complete denture restorations. 3. Only half of the requesting dentists could send work authorizations to the laboratories with their work and even so, its contents were quite lacking. Consequently, there must be some standards in writing work authorization. 4. Technicians most desired clean and accurate impressions in fixed and removable dentures, and enough tooth reduction in porcelain fused to metal restorations. 5. For the establishment of better relationships between dentist and dental technician, the respondents desired the establishment of equal footing first(33.5%), and frequent conversations and muture understanding second(25.9%).
일부 산(Acid)에 폭로된 근로자의 치아산식증에 관한 조사연구

In order to investigate the oral health status including dental erosion, the authors had surveyed and oral examined 510 male workers, among whom 199 workers were exposed to acids and 311 were not exposed to acids, in a factory using acids during the period from November, 26 to 27 in 1992. The obtained results were as follows ; 1. The positive rate of dental erosion between the acid exposed and non-exposed group didn't show statistical difference. But the positive rate of degree 1 dental erosion by degree was statistically high in the acid exposed group(P<0.05). 2. The acid exposed group showed the higher positive rate of degree 1 dental erosion in lower incisors by site(P<0.01). 3. To the average number of eroded teeth, the acid exposed group showed more degree 1 eroded teeth in lower incisors than the non-exposed(P<0.05). 4. Although the rate of dental erosion was increased according to the increase in tenure in both exposed and non-exposed group(P<0.05), there was no difference in rate of the dental erosion by site among the same tenure group. 5. In the acid exposed group, the rate of dental erosion between protective mask wearer group and non-wearer group was not statistically different, but upper incisors of the protective mask wearer group showed lower rate of dental erosion by site(P<0.05). 6. The positive rate of periodontal diseases was higher in the acid exposed group(P<0.01).

Objective: Disc displacement may affect the joint space narrowing between condylar head and glenoid fossa. This study was designed to evaluate the correlation between the joint space change and the severity of anterior disc displacement. Materials and Methods: Two hundreds temporomandibular joints MR images of TMD patients(170 joints) and asymptomatic volunteers(30 joints) were evaluated for this purpose. Anterior disc displacement was divided into 3 stages(normal, little to mild, and moderate to severe displacement) based on sagittal images, then joint spaces were measured at medial, central and lateral parts of condyle head on coronal MR images, respectively The joint spaces of 3 groups divided according to the severity of anterior disc displacement were compared. Results: The reduction of joint space was related to the severity of the anterior disc displacement at lateral, medial side and especially at center Conclusion: The temporomandibular joint space was affected by the severity of the anterior disc displacement.
삽입철거 회수가 수종의 Cr-Co 합금 Clasp 유지력에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

This study was to investigate the retentive force changes according to repeated insertion and withdrawal of Cr-Co alloy clasps, commonly used in this country, and the differences in retentive capacities between Aker's clasp and I-bar clasp. The author selected 4 kinds of Cr-Co alloys and Type IV gold alloy, and measured the retentive force changes of each clasp type in undercut depth of 0.25mm and analyzed statistically. The following results were obtained. 1. In both Aker's and I-bar clasps, there were no statistically significant differencies in retentive forces among 4 Cr-Co alloys. 2. Cr-Co alloys exerted greater retentive forces than those of gold alloy, 2 times greater in Aker's clasps and 2.5 times in I-bar clasps. 3. In all test specimens, I-bar clasps exerted greater retentive forces than Aker's clasps. 4. In all test specimens, there were trends of second order relationships in retentive force changes.

기계 학습 분야에 합성 곱 신경망이 대두되면서 이미지 처리 문제를 해결하는 모델은 비약적인 발전을 맞이했다. 하지만 그만큼 요구되는 컴퓨팅 자원 또한 상승하여 일반적인 환경에서 이를 학습해보기는 쉽지 않은 일이다. 주의 집중 기법은 본래 순환 신경망의 기울기 소실 문제를 방지하기 위해 제안된 기법이지만, 이는 합성 곱 신경망의 학습에도 유리한 방향으로 활용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 합성 곱 신경망에 주의 집중 기법을 적용하고, 이때의 학습 시간과 성능 차이 비교를 통해 제안하는 방법의 우수성을 입증한다. 제안하는 모델은 YOLO를 기반으로 한 객체 검출에서 주의 집중 기법을 적용하지 않은 모델에 비해 학습 시간, 성능 모두 우수한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 학습 시간을 현저히 낮출 수 있음을 실험적으로 증명하였다. 또한, 이를 통해 일반 사용자의 기계 학습에 대한 접근성 증대가 기대된다. With the emergence of convolutional neural network in the field of machine learning, the model for solving image processing problems has seen rapid development. However, the computing resources required are also rising, making it difficult to learn from a typical environment. Attention mechanism is originally proposed to prevent the gradient vanishing problem of the recurrent neural network, but this can also be used in a direction favorable to learning of the convolutional neural network. In this paper, attention mechanism is applied to convolutional neural network, and the excellence of the proposed method is demonstrated through the comparison of learning time and performance difference at this time. The proposed model showed that both learning time and performance were superior in object detection based on YOLO compared to models without attention mechanism, and experimentally demonstrated that learning time could be significantly reduced. In addition, this is expected to increase accessibility to machine learning by end users.
