Turbo- or Super-charging has been used to boost engine power for Gasoline- and Diesel Engine since beginning of 20th century. So far turbo-charger has enjoyed a high reputation in the charging field for its technical advantages such as no demand of operation power from engine and an excellent charging effect in a static operation at mid- and high engine speed. A mechanically driven super-charger, however, is now popular due to the high engine power at quick change of the driving mode - high engine torque even at low engine speed. Since super-charger needs operation power from engine, it is difficult to improve its relatively higher fuel consumption than that of turbo-charger. This negative point is still an obstacle to the wide use of supercharger. Super-charger using screw-type compressor will fulfill the purpose to reduce fuel consumption by minimizing operation power owing to no charge at idling or part load driving condition. This study aims to develop power control concept to achieve the minimization of operation power. A screw type super-charger was modified in design partially and installed with an internal bypass valve and a bypass tube to control charging pressure at part load. The various control concepts show a possibility to reduce operation power of super-charger.
해양 시추용 Top Drive Machine Concept Design 연구

Top Drive Machine is drilling equipment which transfers motor torque to the drill bit. Kelly Rotary Table of the Derrick Drilling Machine (DDM) is firstly developed at 1983, and the first commercial model DDM 650DC was released at 1984. Offshore drilling business is high value-added industries. "N" Company of U.S.A and "A" company of Norway hold more than 90 percent of the global offshore drill system market, so it is hard to take away market share and develop offshore drilling equipment. Consequently, this paper introduce method for concept design of new reliability machine by limited information. To achieve this, design & analysis tools as CATIA, DELMIA, Pro Engineering, ANSYS were used to evaluate design error and strength/flow analysis at new concept design in Top Drive Machine. 탑 드라이브 장비는 드릴 비트에 회전력을 전달하여 굴착을 하게하는 장치이며, 1983년 Derrick Drilling Machine의 Kelly Rotary Table로 시작하여, 1984년에 DDM 650 DC가 등장함으로써 본격적으로 개발 되기 시작했다. 이러한 탑 드라이브 장비는 미국의 N사와 노르웨이 A사가 전 세계 시장의 90% 이상을 점유하고 있으며, 이로 인하여 탑 드라이브 장비의 세계시장 진입과 장비에 대한 정보가 제한적일 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 제한된 정보를 통하여 신뢰성을 가지는 제품을 개발하기 위한 절차 및 방법에 대하여 소개하고자 한다. 설계 오류 및 신뢰성이 검증된 제품 디자인을 위하여 3D Tool을 사용하였으며, 이를 활용하여 설계오류, 간섭체크, 기능체크, 구조강도 해석 등을 수행하여 제품의 신뢰성을 사전 검증 하였다.

Development of the offshore industry lead to make domestic equipment due to increased demand. High pressure valve have two main function in drill string. One is blocking backdraft of mud at when pipe exchange. The other is protecting top drive machine from high pressure of gas & oil at emergency situation like well explosion. This study shows development of high pressure valves new working concept. Safety and reliability is important factor because of high demand of stability. Through this study we worked failure proof analysis through RBD & FMEA at early design stage. Through this study localization and the world market of high pressure valves installed in the Topside is expected.
Drill Ship용 수직 이동형 Derrick System의 신뢰도 향상을 위한 연구

Safety and reliability is import factor because of bad working condition on offshore plant. Derrick is the highest part in drilling system and should be controlled in safety manual. Normal derrick structure is built at top side of the plant and effected on sea wave, strong wind and risk environment. So, center of gravity at derrick is important factor for controlling attitude of offshore plant. This study shows improvement of more stable structure through vertical moving derrick system. We worked failure proof analysis through RBD & FMEA at early design stage. And structure analysis and mock-up test are carried out to verify vertical moving function at new concept of derrick system.
