Recently, interest in the carbon storage of harvested wood is increasing in line with the growing social interest in the environment and health and the global issue of carbon neutrality. However, wood self-sufficiency rate in Korea is only about 15%. Domestic woods are used for low value-added purposes such as pulp materials, and most of them are imported products produced abroad. In addition, most of the workshops that manufacture and produce household goods using wood are small or dependent on individual skills, and thus have difficulties in mass production or product development. Therefore, this study established a direction for discovering and commercializing products that are widely used in everyday life and can be replaced with wood. The developed product was selected and developed with a wooden electronic calculator in consideration of price, productivity, marketability, and scalability. In this process, relatively high processing labor and material costs were consumed, but a competitive finished product was produced. As a result, the possibility of wood products was confirmed by developing products that could be distributed in the market. In particular, the developed wood products are expected to replace plastics and contribute to carbon neutrality in everyday life.

Recently, interest in wooden construction have been growing by increasing needs and demands for eco-friendly and traditional wooden building(Hanok). Especially, Hanok has the technical development in manufacturing the mortise-tenon joint without fasteners(precut), so it could be called to modernization, industrialization and popularization. But the structural design and analysis of the structure were not regulated and had the difficulty to consider the variation of wooden member and to conduct the difficulty in the structural analysis and the design of the joint. In this study, the stiffness ratio of wooden mortise and tenon joint was evaluated according to the vertical loading, lintel and loading speed. The joint was distinguished in semi-rigid joint regardless of their factors. The stiffness ratio was 0.40 in vertical loading, 0.50 without vertical loading and 0.44 in horizontal loading with high speed. This study would be utilized to the structural analysis and design with structural analysis and design program.
운봉 향교 정밀 모니터링을 통한 목재 기둥 부재의 함수율 분포 특성

Monitoring for moisture contents of wooden post member of Un-bong confucian school was performed in 6 months and analyzed to conserve scientifically the wooden culture building and open for common people. In inner post member of the building, variation of moisture contents was very small and upper part had relatively higher moisture contents. In outer post member, moisture contents were changed according to the weather conditions and was relatively high in bottom and upper part. Southern post has lower moisture content than eastern. These results were related to air ventilation in interior, depth of eaves and orientation of the building. In the design, construction and maintenance of wooden building, characteristics of wood should be considered like moisture contents.

This study was carried out to analyze the surface color change according to the weathering time. The surface color of material was one of evaluation indexes in exposure experiment. For the purpose, accelerated weathering test was performed with wood. The weathering time level was composed with 0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 hours and color difference was estimated with the color difference meter. The surface color was changed to 500 hours that lightness and redness were decreased and yellowness was increased. However it did not changed after 500 hours. It means that the surface color could be the evaluation index of deterioration of the wood but it means very little after certain time.

This study was carried out to analyze the effects on mechanical properties of deteriorated wood member by outdoor condition. The surface color, mechanical properties and structural stability of traditional wooden structures, exposed in water and UV, could be changeable. For the purpose, accelerated weathering test based on outdoor condition was carried out. The weathering time levels were composed 0, 500, 1000, 1,500 and 2,000 hours and mechanical properties were evaluated on each specimen according to weathering time level. Bending properties were decreased on weathering but recovered after 1,000 hours. Fatigue and impact strength were decreased to 1,000 hours and did not changed since then. Abrasion resistance was minimized in 1,000 hours. This results could be utilized for effectively stability management of traditional wooden structures and members.
