        흰쥐 자궁에서의 Cytosolic Progesterone 수용체 측정에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to establish optimal conditions for progesterone receptor assay using rat uterus, therby applying this system to understand action mechanism of progesterone in female reproductive organ and to evaluate physiological and pathological conditions in female reproduction. The results obtained were as follows 1. $^3H-R5020$ seemed to be more stable than 3H-progesterone as a ligand. 2. Optimal incubation time for ligand and receptor binding was 4-5 hrs at $4^{\circ}C$. 3. For the separation of bond and free ligand, optimal charcoal incubation time was 20 mins. 4. 2-3 mg cytosolic protein/ml was optimal for the binding of ligand. 5. Endogenous progesterone did not influence binding of ligand and receptor unless endogenous progesterone levels were extremely high as in case of pregnancy. 6. Dissociation rate for progesterone receptor was 1.22 nM. 7. $^3H-R5020$ did not bind to corticoid binding globulin (CBG), suggesting that addition of cortisol is saturate CBG was, not necessary as far as $^3H-R5020$ was used as a radioligand. It is, therefore, considered that this assay system established with these conditions might be used for the research as well as clinical routine purposes.

        Discovery of cSNPs in Pig UsingFull-length Enriched cDNA Libraries of theKorean Native Pig as a Source of GeneticDiversity

        Clones from full-length enriched cDNA libraries serve as valuable resources for functional genomic studies. We analyzed 3,210 chromatograms obtained from sequencing the 5'-ends of brainstem, liver, neocortex, and spleen clones derived from full-length enriched cDNA libraries of Korean native pigs. In addition, 50,000 pig EST sequence trace files were obtained from Genbank and combined with our sequencing information for SNP identification in silico. For the SNP analysis, neocortex, and liver libraries were newly constructed, whereas the sequencing results from brainstem and spleen libraries were from previously constructed libraries. The putative SNPs from the in silico analysis were confirmed by genomic PCR from a group of 20 pigs of four different breeds. Using this approach, 86% of cSNPs identified in silico were confirmed and the SNP detection frequency was 1 SNP per 338 bp. Interestingly, we found a valine deletion at amino acid position 126 of the neuronal and endocrine protein gene in the Korean native pig. We confirmed that this deletion was caused by alternative splicing at the NAGNAG acceptors. Our study shows that large-scale EST sequencing of Korean native pigs can be effectively employed for natural polymorphism-based pig genome analysis.

        Background : The consequences of disordered breathing patterns are not only distressing to the patient but also expensive to our health care systems if they are not diagnosed and treated. So we performed this study to investigate clinical significants trough gigong, yoga and hyperventilation in oriental medicine and westen medicine Objective: To review the relationship of electrogastrography with autonomic nervous system and to study its clinical application. Method: We investigate the research results through internet search engine, Pubmed. Conclusion: Electrogastrography is a reliable, non-invasive method for recording gastric myoelectrical activity and is used for objectification of diagnosis related to gastric peristalsis. Gastric myoelectrical activity seem to involve autonomic nervous system, especially parasympathetic nervous system. The study should be continuing about relationship between electrogastrography and autonomic nervous system.

        복굴절 특성을 갖는 액정 렌즈어레이를 이용한 깊이감이 향상된 집적영상 시스템

        본 논문에서는 집적영상의 문제점인 깊이감 제한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 편광된 광과 복굴절 매질인 액정 렌즈어레이를 이용한 집적영상 시스템을 제안하고 구현하였다. 제안된 렌즈어레이는 두 개의 유리 렌즈어레이 위에 서로 다른 ZLI-4119와 E-7 액정을 증착하여 구현하였다. 액정은 편광 방향에 따라서 굴절률이 서로 다르기 때문에 두 개의 중심깊이 평면을 얻을 수 있다. 이로 인하여 초점 영역의 변화를 얻을 수 있으며 이로 인해 복원 시 깊이감을 향상시킬 수 있다. $LightTools^{(R)}$ 프로그램을 이용하여 집적영상 시스템을 구현하였고, 굴절률 차에 의한 초점거리 변화를 확인하였다. 액정 디스플레이 공정을 이용하여 소자를 제작하였고, 광학 실험을 통하여 초점거리의 변화를 측정하였다. ZLI-4119 액정 렌즈어레이의 굴절률은 기본 렌즈어레이의 굴절률보다 작기 때문에 실상이 맺히게 되고, 초점거리는 약 680 mm였다. 반면에 E-7 액정 렌즈어레이의 경우에는 허상이 맺히게 되고, 이론적인 초점거리는 -29 mm였다. An integral imaging system enabling enhanced depth of field by incorporating a pair of liquid-crystal (LC) lens arrays was proposed and demonstrated. The lens arrays exhibit two different refractive indexes depending on the light polarization. The proposed LC lens array I and II were implemented by depositing a ZLI-4119 LC and an E-7 LC, respectively, on top of a lens-array substrate in glass. When the two LC lens arrays were aligned appropriately, a birefringence was obtained for a specific light polarization in such a way that the incoming light sees different refractive indexes for them. As a result, the focal length associated with the imaging system utilizing the LC lens arrays was adaptively varied, thereby enhancing the depth of field for the image reconstruction. We have theoretically analyzed the proposed integral imaging system with the $LightTools^{(R)}$ to confirm that the focal length could be adjusted with the help of the birefringent lens array. Finally the proposed imaging system successfully reconstructed the objects. The birefringent lens array employing the ZLI-4119 LC produced a real image with the focal length of 680 mm, while the other using the E-7 LC yielded a virtual image with the focal length of -29 mm.

        광분할 반사경이 집적된 단일 광원 기반의 통합형 듀얼 백라이트 유닛

        본 논문에서는 단일 광원에 광분할 반사경을 집적하여 휴대폰의 디스플레이부와 키패드부에 동시 적용 가능한 통합형 듀얼 백라이트 유닛을 제안하고 구현하였다. 이 광분할 반사경은 상부 커버와 홈 모양의 하부 기판을 서로 정렬함으로써 구현되며, 반사경 좌우에는 도광판, 확산 쉬트, 프리즘 쉬트로 이루어진 도광 모듈이 연결되어 있다. 하부 기판의 중앙에 위치한 광원에서 방사된 광은 반사경 내부에서 다중 반사를 하면서 진행하고, 도광 모듈에 입사된 후 면광원으로 변환된다. 제작된 듀얼 백라이트 유닛의 측정 결과를 살펴보면, 키패드부에서의 평균 휘도 및 휘도 균일도는 각각 $420\;cd/m^2$와 69%, 디스플레이부에서는 $640\;cd/m^2$와 79%였다. Dual backlight unit incorporating a single light source integrated with a beam splitting reflector was demonstrated, providing a surface light beam for both the keypad and the display section simultaneously. The reflector was realized by aligning a groove substrate with a matching cover, and a light guiding module comprising a stack of light guide panels and prism/diffuser sheets was attached to both sides of the reflector. A light emanating from the light source-placed in the middle of the substrate-undergoes a series of reflections through the reflector to reach the input of the light guiding module. Then it is transformed into a surface light beam, which is used to irradiate the keypad and display sections simultaneously. As for the accomplished dual surface light sources, the measured average luminance and the spatial luminance uniformity were respectively about $420\;cd/m^2$ and 69% for the keypad section, and $640\;cd/m^2$ and 79% for the display section.

        Identification of Genes Differentially Expressed in Wild Type and Purkinje Cell Degeneration Mice

        Purkinje cell degeneration (pcd) mice are characterized by death of virtually all cerebellar Purkinje cells by postnatal day 30. In this study, we used DNA microarray analysis to investigate differences in gene expression between the brains of wild type and pcd mice on postnatal day 20, before the appearance of clear-cut phenotypic abnormalities. We identified 300 differentially expressed genes, most of which were involved in metabolic and physiological processes. Among the differentially expressed genes were several calcium binding proteins including calbindin-28k, paravalbumin, matrix gamma-carboxyglutamate protein and synaptotagamins 1 and 13, suggesting the involvement of abnormal Ca2+ signaling in the pcd phenotype.

      • 대장균 감각수용체에 있어서 단백질 메틸화에 따른 신호전달기능의 변화

        대장균은 당류나 아미노산 등의 화합물에 대한 주화성을 가지며 이를 수행하는 세포내의 자극과 반응 즉 정보전달 기구가 존재한다. 여기에서 핵심적인 역할을 하는 것은 chemosensory transducer라 불리는 감각수용체인데 이는 자극 또는 화학물질의 인지 뿐만 아니라, 신호발생, 감각적응등의 기능을 수행하는 분자적 단위로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에 서는 감각적응의 현상적 변화로서 관찰된 단백질 메틸화의 기능적 인관관계를 밝히기 위한 시도로서, 감각수용체 단백질의 메틸기 수용자리들을 여러 종류의 아미노산으로 치환하고 그에 따른 감각수용체의 신호전달기능의 변화를 메틸화의 수식기능이 결여된 돌연변이주내에서 관찰하였다. 돌연변이에 따른 세균의 행동 변화는 Sun workstation을 이용한 motion analysis package에 의해 분석하였다. 그 결과 감각 수용체는 메틸화의 증가에 따라 역으로 흥분된 상태에 이르며 메틸기가 전혀 존재하지 않을때에는 계속적인 흥분상태를 유지함이 관찰되었다. 그러나 포화수준의 자극이 존재할때는 메틸화의 정도에 무관하게 막수용체의 흥분이 가능하였다. 이는 메틸화에 따른 단백질의 수식기능이 정상적인 막수용체의 신호전달상태를 결정 하나, 자극에 따른 수용체자체의 흥분성 conformation 변화에는 영향을 미치지 않는 결과로 생각된다. The Trg protein is one of a family of chemosensory receptors that gain or lose methyl esters on specific glutamyl residues during sensory adaptations in Escherichia coli. In this study, we have characterized some of the mutations of Trg created in vitro by site-directed mutagenesis. The mutations have changes in methylation sites such that all possible methyl-accepting residues, either glutamate or glutamine, are replaced by glutamate, glutamine, or alanine only. Behavioral analysis for the cells containing mutated Trg using computerized motion analysis package revealed that those mutations exhibited altered signalling properties compared to the wild type. All glutamate-replaced mutant Trg showed exclusively counterclockwise (CCW)-bias of flagellar rotation in modification-deficient ($cheR^-$ $cheB^-$) host while glutamine or alanine ones exhibited significant clockwise (CW)-bias. It was also demonstrated that Gin or Ala mutations were excitable upon stimulation with attractant ribose. Moreover, the excited state persisted after prolonged stimulation. This results imply that the methylation set the level of signalling output of the transducer. In addition, the complete lack of the methylation shown in Ala mutation did not abolish the excitatory signalling of the transducer. Therefore, it is likely that the methylation operates as a fine-tuning device for the transducer to adjust the level of signalling output while the adaptational feedback requires an additional modulator, possibly a Che protein.

        쌍태임신에 관한 임상적 고찰;I. 주산기 사망

        In order to study twin pregnancies, a retrospective survey was carried out in Yonsei University, Severance Hospital. Twin deliveries during 1967-1976 numbered altogether 264, and their relative frequency was 1.30%. Clinical palpation in addition to auscultation and roentgenologic technique had been used in the twin diagnosis. The diagnosis was made prior to delivery in 93.18% of the cases. The deliveries took place in the 37.26th (S.D. 3.95) gestational weeks on an average. The mean weights of the infants were-A (first baby) 2416.03g. (S.D. 802.61), and B (second baby) 2299.81g. (S.D. 190.31). The most common manner of twin delivery was spontaneous vaginal delivery. Cesarean section was done in 14.39%, of which the most common indication was hypotonic uterine dysfunction (34.21 %). Low one minute Apgar scores occured more often in B twins than among A twins. Breech delivery gave low one minute Apgar scores more often than did spontaneous vertex delivery in both twins. Full term twins and infants weighing more than 2500g. had fewer low one minute Apgar scores than the preterm infants and those with low birth weight. Perinatal mortality (PNM) in the total series was 14.77% (A 12.50% and B17.05%). The most common cause of perinatal mortality was prematurity in 44.87%. The worst outcome was recorded for the age groups 15-19 and ${\geqq}$40, in which perinatal mortality were 50.00%, respectively. The perinatal mortality of both A and B infants was lowest in the group diagnosed early during antenatal care before delivery. On the basis of our findings, we wish to emphasize particularly the importance of the early diagnosis of twins.

        Support Vector Regression을 이용한 소프트웨어 개발비 예측

        The purpose of this paper is to propose a new software development cost estimation method using SVR(Support Vector Regression) SVR, one of machine learning techniques, has been attracting much attention for its theoretic clearness and food performance over other machine learning techniques. This paper may be the first study in which SVR is applied to the field of software cost estimation. To derive the new method, we analyze historical cost data including both well-known overseas and domestic software projects, and define cost drivers affecting software cost. Then, the SVR model is trained using the historical data and its estimation accuracy is compared with that of the linear regression model. Experimental results show that the SVR model produces more accurate prediction than the linear regression model.
