Actual and strict definition of the shift quality for the powertrain system equipped an automatic transmission must be understood through the acceleration change of the vehicle body, which the driver directly feels as a shift shock. For this reason, it is necessary to concurrently analyze the characteristics of the powertrain system and the vehicle body. This paper presents the mathematical model of the vehicle body, which is based on the equivalent lumped system, to append to the developed model of the powertrain system. The concept of tire slip is also introduced for the experimental relationship between tire/road and driving force. Using the developed dynamic simulation programs, shift transients characteristics are analyzed. Theoretical results are compared with experimental ones from real car tests in equal conditions in order to prove the validity of presented model. In these tests, the system to measure the vehicle acceleration is used with various speeds and engine throttle sensors. It is expected that the presented modeling techniques can provide good predictions of the vehicle driving comfortability.

Infrared scenes usually contain also spectral information which cannot be resolved using normal single-band infrared cameras. Multispectral infrared imaging cameras give access to the comprehensive information contained within infrared scenes. A Dual-band infrared Camera, a type of multispectral infrared imaging cameras, has the advantage of simple system. A Dual-band Infrared Camera gives access to the spectral information as wells as the temperature information within infrared scenes. Multispectral imaging generally increases the detection and identification performance of a Dual-band Infrared Camera. This paper describes a design of an infrared Camera using a Dual-band Infrared Detector to simultaneously receive infrared radiation from the medium-wave infrared/long-wave infrared(MWIR/LWIR) bands.

There are many studies about submerged structures or porous wave absorbers to decrease damage of coast and structures. Submerged structures and porous wave absorber are decreasing energy of incoming wave by reflecting or dissipation with changing depth or with porous rubble mound. This study addresses the reflection and transmission of long wave from a trapezoidal breakwater and a vertical porous wave absorber at the same time. A systematic shape transfer is derived to determine wave reflection and transmission. And periodic solutions are matched at the slope and the front face of the absorber by assuming continuity of pressure and mass. The transmission coefficient is determined as a function of parameters describing the incoming waves, transmitting waves through the trapezoidal breakwater and the absorber characteristics.
