선모(仙茅) 열수(熱水) 추출물의 Collagen 유발 관절염에 대한 약리 효능 연구

Objectives:In Korean medicine, Curculiginis Rhizoma was treated for arthritis in remedy. But efficacy of Curculiginis Rhizoma on collagen induced arthritis was not revealed. Methods:Anti inflammatory effect of Curculiginis Rhizoma was researched in vitro with RAW264.7 cell and cell toxicity, levels of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-12) and PGE2 were analyzed by ELISA assay. Inflammatory protein were analyzed by western blotting assay (JNK, ERK, COX-2, TNF-α and IL-1β). In vivo, collagen induced arthritis mice model was used to evaluate anti-inflammation effect through arthritis index, immune cell number and cytokine levels (TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β) in serum. Results:ECR(Extract of Curculiginis Rhizoma) has not shown cell toxicity in 200 ㎍/㎖ on RAW264.7 cell. ECR suppressed releases of NO, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12 and PGE2 on RAW264.7 cell treated with lipopolysacharide (1 ㎍/㎖). And ECR inhibited regulation of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 mRNA, reduced protein release of JNK, ERK, iNOS, COX-2, IL-1β and TNF-α. AI of group treated with ECR 200 ㎎/㎏ and 100 ㎎/㎏ were significantly decreased compared to vihicle arthritis mice, the number of immune cell in foot joint was increased on control mice but those of group treated with ECR 200 ㎎/㎏ and 100 ㎎/㎏ were significantly reduced. This results correspond with contens of cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6) in serum. Conclusions:Curculiginis Rhizoma has anti-inflammation effect on RAW264.7 cell in vitro and collagen induced arthritis in vivo . So it is necessary to research more mechanism for cascade imfact.
MODIS(Terra) 영상을 이용한 한반도의 NDVI 변동특성

This study was to use an indirect method to estimate NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) from the MODIS satellite data in the Korea Peninsula. We used the MODIS(Terra) data that are 10-day cloud free composite imagery over the Korea Peninsula. We calculated NDVI to use 10-day composite MODIS reflectance products(500m spatial resolution). The NDVI has a great effect on the plant growth conditions. The MODIS data are good to estimate monitoring periodically. The main purpose of this study was to estimate NDVI and to compare NDVI each monthly data in Korea. This study suggests that NDVI from the MODIS satellite data is useful monitoring wide area and periodically. The results were provided information on the growth condition of crops.

The surveillance robot has been an important component in the field of service robot industry. In the surveillance robot technology, one of the most important technology is to identify a person. In this paper, we propose a gait recognition method based on contourlet and fuzzy LDA (Linear Discriminant Analysis) for surveillance robots. After decomposing a gait image into directional subband images by contour let, features are obtained in each subband by the fuzzy LDA. The final gait recognition is performed by a fusion technique that effectively combines similarities calculated respectively in each local subband. To show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, various experiments are performed for CBNU and NLPR DB datasets. From these, we obtained better classification rates in comparison with the result produced by previous methods.
곤약 글루코만난을 첨가한 식빵 급여가 고지방식이로 유도한 비만 흰쥐의 체중 및 혈청지방에 미치는 영향

곤약 글루코만난(liquid konjac)을 동결건조한 식빵에 첨가한 사료를 고지방식이로 유도한 비만 흰쥐에 6주간 급여하였을 때의 체중, 혈청지질, 비만지수에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 실험군은 정상군(NC), 고지방식이 비만 대조군(HF), 고지방식이 비만+곤약 글루코만난을 10% 되게 혼합하여 동결건조 한 식빵을 사료에 10% 혼합한 식이군(KGM1) 및 비만+곤약 글루코만난을 20%되게 혼합하여 동결건조한 식빵을 사료에 20% 혼합한 식이군(KGM2)으로 구분(군당 7마리)하여 6주간 사육하였다. KGM1군과 KGM2군은 HF군에 비하여 혈청 중성지질, 총지질, 총콜레스테롤, LDL-콜레스테롤 함량 및 atherogenic index(AI)는 감소하였으나 HDL-콜레스테롤 함량은 증가하였다. KGM1군과 KGM2군은 HF군의 체중에 비하여 감소하였으며 곤약 글루코만난 첨가 식빵의 비율이 높아질수록 체중감소율이 높았다. 체지방 함량은 NC군 및 HF군에서는 실험식이 6주후에 크게 증가하였으나 KGM1군은 유의적인 변화가 없었고, KGM2군은 감소하였다. 따라서 곤약 글루코만난 첨가 식빵은 고지방식이로 유도된 비만 흰쥐에서 체지방 함량을 감소시키는 효과가 있었다. The effects of white bread supplemented with konjac glucomannan on diet-induced obesity in rats were investigated. Four groups of male Sprague-Dawley rats were examined: a non-obese control group (NC), an obese high fat diet group (HF), an obese high fat diet group given bread supplemented with 10% konjac glucomannan (KGM1) and an obese high fat diet group given bread supplemented with 20% konjac glucomannan (KGM2). The daily weight gain of the KGM1 group increased slightly and decreased in the KGM2 group compared to the HF group. The serum triglycerides, total lipid, total cholesterol, and HDL-cholesterol increased in the HF compared to the NC group, whereas they decreased in KGM1 and KGM2 groups. After having this experimental diet for 6 weeks, the body weight in KGM1 and KGM2 groups decreased compared to the HF group. While the initial R?hrer index was 23.13 in the NC group, and 31.50~32.59 in the HF, KGM1, and KGM2 groups, the index after the experimental diets for 6 weeks was 28.39 in the NC group, 36.88 in the HF group, 33.48 in the KGM1 group and 29.64 in the KGM2 group. The level of body fat increased from 1% to 7.14% in the NC group, from 15.60% to 60.05% in the HF group, and from 10.60% to 10.83% in the KMG1 group, but decreased from 10.45% to 8.20% in the KGM2 group. These results demonstrate that white bread with glucomannan is effective in reducing body weight and serum lipids in high fat diet-induced obese rats.

A new malting barley variety, ‘Baegrok’, was developed in 2016 at the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA: Rural development administration by crossing the high-yield ‘Milyang130’ variety with ‘Myoginijo’, which has lodging tolerance and resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV). ‘Baegrok’ is suitable for use in brewing, similar to ‘Hopum’, and has resistance to powdery mildew and tolerance to lodging. From 2014 to 2016, regional yield trials were conducted in four different regions, with ‘Baegrok’ as a breeding line of ‘Iksan176’. The heading dates of ‘Baegrok’ in paddy and upland fields were April 6 and April 11, respectively, 2 days earlier than those of ‘Hopum’. Maturing dates of ‘Baegrok’ in paddy and upland fields were May 16 and May 21, respectively, similar to those of ‘Hopum’. The yield potential of ‘Baegrok’ was approximately 14% and 6% higher than that of ‘Hopum’ in upland and paddy fields. ‘Baegrok’ had a shorter culm length than ‘Hopum’ showing tolerance to lodging. Screening for powdery mildew resistance in the greenhouse showed that ‘Baegrok’ had resistance to powdery mildew, unlike ‘Hopum’ which was susceptible. It also is suitable for use in brewing, similar to Hopum. ‘Baegrok’ showed good grain quality in terms of β-glucan content (3.4%), starch (61.0%), and husk rate (12.7%). Regarding malt quality, ‘Baegrok’ exhibited 75.1% acrospire length, 70.8% friability, 4.4% soluble protein, and 345.8 WK (Windisch-Kolbach) diastatic power, superior to the malt quality of ‘Hopum’. Thus, ‘Baegrok’ is resistant to powdery mildew, tolerant to lodging, and more suitable for brewing. (Registration No. 8399)
