Phytolaccae Radix is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Phytolaccae Radix for dispelling retained water(逐水), relieving constipation by purgation (瀉下通便), promoting the subsidence of swelling(消腫), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Phytolaccae Radix. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are phytolaccine, phytolaccatoxin, phytolaccasaponin, phytolaccagenin, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Phytolaccae Radix mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on cardiovascular system, digestive system, respiratory system, nervous system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the western medicine are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, enema, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), Phaseoli Radiati Semen(綠豆), etc. And the Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. If we use Phytolaccae Radix after processing of medicinal herb and boiling down this herb for a long time, poisoning of this herbal medicine will be reduced. 5. In order to prevent against poisoning of Phytolaccae Radix, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Angelicae Pubescentis Radix is in use in eastern medicine. Eastern medical doctors use Angelicae Pubescentis Radix for eliminating wind and dampness(祛風濕), relieving pain(止痛), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are angelicotoxin, volatile oils, coumarin compounds, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Angelicae Pubescentis Radix mainly cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, nervous system, circulating system, respiratory system, etc and cause hypersensitive dermatitis. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in western medicine are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in eastern medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), etc And Eastern medical doctor should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Calomelas is in use in Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Calomelas for eliminating toxic material(攻毒), destroying parasites and relieving itching(殺蟲止痒), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Calomelas. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are mercuric chloride, mercury protochloride, mercuric salt, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Calomelas mainly cause stimulating symptoms on the mucous membrane of skin, blood system, nervous system, digestive system, urinary system, respiratory system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in western medicine are washing out the stomach, supplies of grape sugar, causing diarrhea, administering toxicide and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Phaseoli Radiati Semen(綠豆), Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), Camelliae Folium(茶葉), Smilacis Glabrae Rhizoma(土茯?), and Hwangryunhaedog-tang(黃連解毒湯), etc. And Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Calomelas, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Canavaliae Gladiatae Semen is in use in eastern medicine. Eastern medical doctors use Canavaliae Gladiatae for warming the middle-jiao(溫中), keeping the adverse qi flowing downward(下氣), restoring yang(助陽), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Canavaliae Gladiatae. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The ingredients of poisoning from Canavaliae Gladiatae Semen mainly cause nausea, vomitting, spasm, etc. In a critical condition, the symptoms will get worse. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in western medicine are washing out the stomach, supplies of grape sugar, enema and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. In order to prevent against poisoning of Canavaliae Gladiatae Semen, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Artemisiae Argi Folium is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Artemisiae Argi Folium for expelling pathogenic cold from channel(溫經散寒), promoting the flow of qi(通絡), stopping bleeding(止血), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Artemisiae Argi Folium. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are oil of Artemisiae Argi Folium, terpineol, thujone, terpinen-4-ol, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Artemisiae Argi Folium mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, nervous system, etc. And in case of external use of Artemisiae Argi Folium, that can cause hypersensitive reaction on the skin. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in Korean medicine, the Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 3. The representative methods in poisoning treatments in western medicine are washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, symptomatic treatment, etc. And the patients should be taken to stable room. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Artemisiae Argi Folium, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Arsenicum Sublimatum is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Arsenicum Sublimatum for eliminating toxic material((攻毒), killing insects(殺蟲), and removing carbuncle(蝕瘡), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Arsenicum Sublimatum. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredient of poisoning is arsenic(As), As2O3, arsine, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Arsenicum Sublimatum mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on gastrointestinal tract, mental and nervous system, urinary and reproductive system, cardiovascular system and eyes, etc. And in case of external use of Arsenicum Sublimatum, that can cause skin damages such as dermatitis, ulcer, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Phaseoli Radiati Semen(綠豆), Cephalonoplosi Segeti Radix (小界根), etc. And the Korean medical doctors should treat with acupucture and meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 3. The representative methods in poisoning treatments in the western medicine are washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, high enema, supplies of grape sugar and taking an antidote for poison from Arsenicum Sublimatum, etc. And the medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Arsenicum Sublimatum, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine are removing heat(淸熱), nourishing yin(養陰), and relieving thirst(止渴), etc. And Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4.
