        난황유의 점박이응애(Tetranychus urticae) 방제효과

        점박이응애의 친환경적인 방제방법을 개발하기위해 식용유와 계란 노른자를 재료로 한 난황유(COY)를 이용하여 점박이응애 성충에 대한 살비효과를 실험실과 유리온실에서 검정하였다. 해바라기유, 콩기름, 카놀라유, 올리브유를 재료로 한 난황유를 사용하여 살비력을 비교 검정하였으나 식용유의 종류에 따른 살비효과에서는 차이가 나지 않았다. 난황유를 점박이응애에 살포하였을 때 식용유의 농도가 0.1%에서 1%까지 증가할수록 살비율은 17.6%에서 94.1%로 높아졌으며 난황유의 처리 방법도 처리량이 많을 경우 살비력이 더 높았다. 점박이응애의 알을 난황유에 침지 처리했을 경우 살란율은 95%였다. 점박이응애가 발생한 장미재배 온실에 0.3%의 해바라기유로 제조한 난황유를 3회 살포 후 69.0%에서 93.9%의 높은 방제효과를 확인하였다. This study was conducted to develop an organic control method of two spotted spider mite(Tetranychus urticae) by using cooking oil and yolk mixture(COY) through evaluating its acaricidal activity in laboratory and green house. In laboratory, there is no significant difference in acaricidal activity against T. urticae within the COY including soybean, canola(rape seed), sunflower and olive oil. The acaricidal activity against T. urticae. increased from 17.6% to 94.1% as the COY became concentrated between 0.1% to 1%. The COY acricidal activity was effected by the quantity of treatment according to application methods. The COY dealt with T. urticae eggs presented 95% of the ovicidal activity. In rose greenhouse damaged by T. urticae, the COY(0.3%) was sprayed three times and resulted in the high control value of mites between 69.0% to 89.6%.

        잎담배 훈연을 이용한 온실 내 진딧물 방제기술

        담배훈연을 이용한 진딧물의 살충효과를 검정하기 위해 건조 담뱃잎을 이용하여 실험실과 온실에서 훈연시험을 실시하였다. 아크릴케이지에서 담배를 훈연하였을 때 담배품종은 버어리종이 황색종보다 싸리수염진딧물에 대한 살충력이 높게 나타났다. 세 종의 진딧물 복숭아혹진딧물, 목화진딧물, 싸리수염진딧물을 각각 기주를 이용하여 아크릴케이지에서 50 mg의 담뱃잎으로 훈연시험을 실시한 결과 살충율은 싸리수염진딧물(97.2%)>목화진딧물(94.4%)>복숭아혹진딧물(63.9%) 순으로 나타났다. 복숭아혹진딧물은 기주를 가지로 했을 때 훈연에 의한 살충율이 배추를 기주로 했을 때보다 높게 나타났다. $100m^2$ 규모의 온실에 황색종의 담뱃잎을 2시간 훈연 시 200 g을 이용하였을 때 싸리수염진딧물에 대해 95.4%의 방제가를 보여주었으나 100 g을 이용하였을 때는 28.9%의 방제가를 보여주었다. 100 g의 담뱃잎은 14시간 훈연하였을 때는 2시간 훈연보다 살충효과가 2배 이상 높아졌다. 오이재배 농가 온실에서 담배훈연을 하였을 때 처리 후 목화진딧물의 방제효과는 80% 이상이었다. 온실 환경에 따라 적절한 양과 시간을 선택해 사용한다면 담배훈연은 온실 내 발생하는 진딧물에 대한 효과적인 방제방법으로 사용할 수 있을 것이다. This study was conducted to observe the effects of dried tobacco leaf smoke on controlling aphids in a laboratory and a greenhouse. Insecticidal activity of tobacco smoke against Aulacorthum solani in an acrylic cage was higher when a burley cultivar, rather a flue-cured cultivar, was used. Mortality of A. solani, Aphis gossypii, and Myzus persicae was 63.9%, 94.4%, and 97.2%, respectively, after 50mg of tobacco smoke on their host plants in an acrylic cage. Mortality of M. persicae after tobacco smoke was used was higher in eggplant than in Chinese cabbage. When 100 g and 200 g of flue-cured tobacco were smoked in a $100m^2$ greenhouse for 2 h, the control values against A. solani were 28.9% and 95.4%, respectively; the control value after 14 h of smoking was more than twice the value after 2 h of smoking. The control value against A. gossypii was more than 80% after tobacco smoke was used in a greenhouse in an organic cucumber farm. Tobacco smoke can be an effective control against aphid pests in greenhouses if an appropriate amount of tobacco and smoking time on the basis of the greenhouse conditions are used.

        단안 실명 환자에서 실시한 건안 백내장 수술의 임상성적

        Purpose: To investigate complication rates and results of cataract surgery in a monocular patient compared to normal binocular cataract patients. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 84 eyes of 84 patients that had undergone phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation and were followed up for 6 months or more. The fellow eye condition was classified into two different groups: Group A (experimental group) and Group B (control group). The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) before and after surgery, operation time, nucleus sclerosis, and complication rate between the two groups were compared. Results: Both groups showed a significant level of visual improvement after 6 months (p < 0.01, 0.01). There was no significant difference in sex, age, preoperative lens opacity, pre- and postoperative visual acuity, spherical equivalent, astigmatism, and rate of complications (posterior capsule rupture [n = 1], uveitis [n = 1] vs. posterior capsule rupture [n = 3], intraocular lens capture [n = 1]. Conclusions: The present study showed no difference in surgical results between Groups A and B. The results demonstrated that cataract surgery in a monocular patient resulted in favorable visual improvement.

        지주막낭종으로 인한 압박성 시신경 병증 1예

        Purpose: To report a case of suprasellar arachnoid cyst with compressive optic neuropathy. Case summary: A 50-year-old man presented with decreased visual acuity in the right eye of 6 months duration. Best corrected visual acuity was 0.2 in the right eye, 1.0 in the left eye, and the intraocular pressure was 13 mm Hg in the right eye, and 18 mm Hg in the left eye. Fundus examination showed pale optic disc in the right eye and retinal nerve fiber layer defects in both eyes. Visual field examination revealed a central visual field of 10° in the right eye and an inferior visual field defect in the left eye. The brain magnetic resonance image (MRI) showed a suprasellar arachnoid cyst that compressing the optic nerve and chiasm. Conclusions: The author experienced arachnoid cyst accompanied by optic disc atrophy and visual field defect in a patient diagnosed and treated for glaucoma. In cases of non-specific clinical features that differ from typical glaucomatous presentations, the utilization of brain MRI appears to be helpful in diagnosis and treatment.         식물추출물의 채소류 주요 해충에 대한 살충력 평가

        Insecticidal activity of 20 plant species against adults of Myzus persicae, female adults of Tetranychus urticae, and $2^{nd}\;or\;3^{rd}$ instar larvae of Plutella xylostella was evaluated in this study. Thirteen plant extracts showed over 80% acaricidal activity to T. urticae at the concentration of 1 %, while Capsicum annuum (hot-pepper seed), Inula helenium, and Acorus calamus revealed 82.8-86.2% acaricidal activities at 0.5%. Insecticidal activities of the plant extracts to M. persicae and P. xylostella were relatively low compare to the mite. Among the plant extracts, C. anuum and Brassica juncea revealed 48.6% and 42.9% respectively insecticidal activities to the aphid at the concentration of 0.5%. Extracts of C. anuum and Jeffersonia dubia provided 55% and 50% insecticidal activity against P. xylostella at 1%. And, the highest antifeeding activity of the insect was observed in the J. dubia extract as 79.4%. Results indicated that some plant extracts including hot pepper seed could be used as potential botanical pesticides for organic farming. 유기재배 농가에서 해충방제용으로 이용하거나 해충에 살충력이 보고된 식물추출물 20종을 점박이응애, 복숭아혹진딧물 및 배추좀나방에 대해 살비, 살충 효과를 검정하였다. 이들 중 13종의 식물추출물은 1% 농도에서 점박이응애에 대해 80%이상의 높은 살비력을 보였다. 그러나, 0.2% 농도에서는 모두 50% 미만의 살충율을 보였고, 0.5% 농도에서는 창포, 목향 및 고추씨 추출물이 각각 82.8%, 82.8%, 86.2%의 높은 살비력을 나타내었다. 복숭아혹진딧물에 대해서는 고추씨와 겨자 추출물이 0.5% 농도에서 48.6%와 42.9%로 가장 높은 살충력을 보였다. 배추좀나방의 경우 1% 농도에서 황련과 고추씨 추출물이 50%와 55%의 살충력을 보였고 나머지 추출물의 살충효과는 50% 미만으로 낮았다. 하지만 여러 식물추출물이 배추좀나방 유충의 섭식을 저해하는 효과를 보였으며 황련 추출물을 처리한 경우 유충의 섭식저해율이 79.4%로 가장 높았다. 본 실험을 통해 천연살충제로서 고추씨와 같이 사용이 용이한 식물체추출물이 유기농업에 이용 가능성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

        Ceriodaphnia dubia의 먹이섭생 기작과 온도조절에 근거한 급성독성조사법의 비교

        Two methods, a Ceriodaphnia algal uptake suppression test (CAUST) and a new toxicity test based on temperature control (TTBTC) which are based on feeding behaviour and temperature control, respectively, were developed and compared for the adoption as the better methodology for short-term toxicity screening. As previously published by Lee et aI., (1997), the CAUST method is based on the feeding behaviour of C. dubia and requires as little as 1 hour of contact time between C. dubia neonates and toxicant. However, even though CAUST requires only 1 hour of contact time, this method still take many hours for the preparation and measurement. Before the test starts, neonate digestive tracts were cleared by feeding yeast to the daphnids, Neonates were then exposed to toxicant, followed by addition of Scenedesmus subspiatus into the bioassay vessels. Daphnids were examined under the bright-field microscope with the presence of algae (indicated by a green colored digestive tract) or the absence of algae. Uptake indicated no toxic effect, whereas, absence of uptake indicated toxic inhibition. Unlike CAUST, the newly developed method (TTBTC) is based on just temperature control for the toxicity test of C. dubia. Initially, neonates are exposed to toxicants while the temperature of water bath containing media increased to $35.5^{\circ}C$. After 1.25 hour of contact time, the number of the daphnids, either live (no toxic effect) or dead (toxic effect), is counted without the aid of any instrument. In both methods, median effective concentrations ($EC_{50}$ values) were computed based on the results over a range of dosed toxicant concentrations. It showed that TTBTC was as sensitive as the standard 48-hour acute bioassay and CAUST. TTBTC and CAUST were much more sensitive than the I-hour I.Q. test and 30-minute Microtox. This study indicates that TTBTC is an easier and more rapid toxicity test than the standard 48-hour acute bioassay and even CAUST.

        유연성 편평족에 대한 내측 전위 종골 절골술의 단기 추시 결과

        Purpose: To evaluate the short-term results of medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy without flexor digitorum longus transfer for flexible flatfoot deformity. Materials and Methods: Twenty four patients (25 feet) who had undergone medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy without flexor digitorum longus transfer for flexible flatfoot between July 2004 and May 2007 were included. The mean age was 43.6 years (16~78 years). The mean follow-up was 26 months (14~50 months). Clinical outcomes were assessed using American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score and visual analogue scale (VAS). Six radiographic parameters were measured from weightbearing radiographs to assess the difference between preoperative and postoperative radiographs. Results: The mean AOFAS score improved from 57.9 points preoperatively to 89.2 points at latest follow-up (p=0.000). The mean VAS improved from 62 points preoperatively to 23 points at latest follow-up (p=0.000). The mean talonavicular coverage angle on anteroposterior (AP) view changed from 20.2 degrees to 16.0 degrees (p=0.002). The mean calcaneal pitch angle on lateral view changed from 12.6 degrees preoperatively to 14.5 degrees at latest follow-up (p=0.001). Regarding these radiographic parameters, the difference between interobserver measurements was larger than that between pre- and post-operative measurements. The calcaneus was transferred medially by average 11.8 mm (p=0.003), which was 27.9% of the width of calcaneal tuberosity (p=0.000). The mean talo-first metatarsal angle on AP and lateral views, and navicular height on lateral view were not significantly changed. Conclusion: Medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy without flexor digitorum longus transfer for flexible flatfoot could lead to improve the clinical outcomes, although the restoration of medial longitudinal arch was not clinically significant.

        호남지역 수확시기에 따른 밀 곡실 발효사료의 사료가치 및 발효품질

        This study aimed to determine the optimal harvesting time for wheat to make grain silage, in Honam region of Korea. We harvested wheat grain every third day from 30 to 42 days after heading (DAH). The moisture content decreased from 61.6% at 30 DAH to 42.8% at 42 DAH. Yield of wheat grain significantly increased from 30 to 42 DAH (p< 0.05). Yield at 39 DAH (3.46T/ha) was not significantly different from that at 42 DAH (p< 0.05). With respect to the feed value of wheat grain silage, the amount of crude protein, crude fiber, and crude ash was different by harvesting time (p< 0.05). However, the amount of total digestible nutrients (TDN) from 30 and 42 DAH was not significantly different. The pH of wheat grain silage from 30 to 42 DAH was between 3.8 and 4.5 and it was stable until 39 DAH (p< 0.05). The lactic acid content of wheat grain silage from 30 to 42 DAH decreased from 3.08% to 1.10%. With respect to moisture content, yield, feed value, and fermentation, the optimal harvesting time for wheat grain silage was 39 DAH. 출수 후 수확일수에 따라 수량 및 사료가치를 고려해 보면 밀 수량은 출수 후 30일부터 42일까지 유의적으로 증가하였으며(p<0.05), 최대 수량은 42일차에 5.57T/ha이었는데, 39일, 42일차와는 유의적 차이를 보이지 않았다. 사료가치의 경우 조단백, 조섬유, 조회분의 경우 유의적 차이를 보이나, 조지방, TDN의 경우 유의적 차이를 보이지 않았다(p<0.05). 발효에 영향을 주는 pH는 30일부터 39일까지는 pH 3.8-4.2까지 안정을 유지하다가 42일차부터는 pH4.5로 증가하여 일부 품종의 경우 발효에 적합하지 않았다(p<0.05). 따라서 밀의 곡실 발효사료 제조를 위한 최적 수확시기는 출수 후 39일차였다.

        토마토재배에 사용하는 농약과 친환경농자재가 곤충 병원성 곰팡이 Beauveria bassiana의 병원성에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to observe the influence of chemical pesticides and environmentally friendly agricultural materials (EFAMs) used in tomato cultivation on the pathogenicity of the entomopathogenic fungus, Beauveria bassiana. B. bassiana mycelium didn't grow on PDA media containing 13 fungicides including chlorothalonil and colonies were not formed on PDA media containing 12 fungicides. B. bassiana mycelium grew and colonies were formed on all PDA media containing insecticides and EFAMs, but mycelial growth and colony formation on most PDA media were significantly inhibited compared to the control. The insecticidal activity of B. bassiana against Trialeurodes vaporariorum was decreased when fungicides (polyoxin B, mandipropamid) and EFAMs containing sulfur were added, but insecticides (pyridaben, dinotefuran) and EFAMs originated from plant extracts did not have any influence on the insecticidal activity of B. bassiana. The pathogenicity of a mixture of B. bassiana and polyoxin B against T. vaporariorum was lower than that of B. bassiana alone under greenhouse conditions. 토마토 재배에 사용되는 농자재를 이용하여 곤충 병원성 곰팡이인 Beauveria bassiana의 병원성에 끼치는 영향을 조사하였다. Chlorothalonil 등 13종의 살균제 첨가 배지에서는 B. bassiana 균사가 전혀 생장하지 못하였고 chlorothalonil 등 12종의 살균제 첨가 배지에서 균총이 형성되지 않았다. 살충제와 친환경자재를 첨가한 모든 배지에서 균사가 생장하고 포자가 형성되었지만 대부분 배지에서 무처리와 비교했을 때 유의차를 보였다. 온실가루이에 대한 살충력은 B. bassiana 단독처리일 때보다 화학살균제(polyoxin B, mandipropamid)와 친환경농자재(sulfur) 혼합시 떨어졌으며 화학살충제(pyridaben, dinotefuran)와 식물추출물 유래 친환경농자재(pyrethrum) 혼합시에는 유의차가 없었으며 온실에서 살균제인 polyoxin B의 혼합으로 온실가루이에 대한 B. bassiana의 감염력이 떨어지는 것을 확인하였다.
