In this study, we analyzed distribution of tide by estimating wave direction and current velocity using RCM9(Recording Current Meter) at the Suyeong bay, Haeundae-gu in Busan. Observations on the study area was conducted in two ways. First, the impact of calmness of harbor. Second, to evaluate whether water quality is good bay by salt water exchanges. In terms of disaster prevention or calmness of harbor, we can evaluate as a good bay the less water circulation occurs. But, in terms of water quality preservation, water circulation should occur in closed-bay surrounded by breakwaters. In result, we estimated that the distribution of tide have little influence on calmness of harbor. On the other hand, we concluded that we can preserve water quality when we install the seawater flow ports in breakwater's local part for salt water exchanges. Salt water exchange has a great impact on water quality at Suyeong bay, so facilitate the exchange of salt water is required to place a flat structure.
