300MW 급 IGCC 석탄가스화 플랜트에서 가스화기 부하변동에 따른 MP Steam 발생 특성 예측

One of the characteristics of IGCC plant is to produce the steam by recovering heat from the gasifier and syngas cooler’ evaporator. In case of 300MW class IGCC, coal gasification plant can produce middle and high pressure steam to run the steam turbine for electricity generation. The middle pressure water circulating system consists of steam drum, water circulating pump, gasifier MP evaporator, syngas cooler MP evaporator and O<SUB>2</SUB> preheater. In this study, the energy balance was calculated and the performance results were predicted in middle pressure steam drum. According to the change of gasifier load, it is predicted that the heat recovery rate of gasifier MP evaporator is almost constant in 15MWth. Also the steam production rate from middle pressure steam drum has the range of 7~12kg/s.

IGCC process is an advanced clean coal technology producing wide range of products. Designing a syngas cooling system for the process requires various considerations not only on flow and heat transfer characteristics but also on fouling effects caused by fly slag. This study investigates flow and heat transfer phenomena of syngas in helical coil heat exchanger using computational fluid dynamics. Various loads and fouling conditions were tested. Process model were then proposed and its results were well-matched with CFD results.
