The present study was investigated the local temperature distribution on the louver fin by using the expansion model. Temperature distribution of the louver fin under frosting condition were experimentally investigated. The experimental condition was brine inlet temperature(-15℃), inlet air dry/wet temperature(2/1℃) and inlet air velocity(1.3 ㎧). At the experimental result, the temperature distributions of the louver were decreased with time on the louver number from 4 to 8. The temperature distributions of the louver were not changed with time on the louver number from 1 to 3 and from 9 to 11.

The correlations of pressure drop has been evaluated, when carbon dioxide flows through a small diameter tube with laminar, transient and turbulent modes. For single phase flow, Churchill's correlation give the best agreement although the predicted friction factors are lower than the measured ones in the laminar region. For two phase flow. Muller's correlation is the closest to the measured pressure drop. However the modification seems to be necessary. As the pressure drop at the outlet is much greater than that at the inlet when carbon dioxide evaporates. the ratio of pressure drops at the inlet and outlet should be considered to predict the pressure drop in two phase flow.

As automotive diesel engines adopt the direct injection method for a lower level of the exhaust emission and a higher fuel efficiency, the maximum temperature of engine coolant decreases. Consequently, the total available heat source from the engine coolant decreases over 35%. However, the heating source of air-conditioning system in automobiles depends on the hot engine coolant completely, so that it is nearly impossible to control air conditioning in heating season. Therefore, the present study has been carried out to develop the air conditioning system for the high efficient heat pump type using the HFC-l34a. Especially, the air conditioning system of heating has been developed at a beginning stage, when it has low heat source from small and medium sized diesel recreation vehicles. To develop a control logic system for air conditioning system which is a heat pump type with a heat recovery exchanger, its cycle characteristics has been investigated according to the opening of LEV at a bench system

Basic simulation program for Vuilleumier cycle heat pump was developed that can use precise VMHP design and analysis. VMHP system was divided 11 sections in simulation. Simulation was used adiabatic model analysis and that considered with heat transfer performance for heat exchanger, regenerator loss, conduction loss, shuttle loss, pumping loss and pressure loss by flow friction. Specially, friction loss of connection pipe between heat compression side and heat pump side, leakage of rod seal and piston seal was considered in the analysis.<br/>

As DDI or GDI engine discharges very low heat due to its high thermal efficiency, the heat source is not enough for heating the passenger compartment in cold climate condition. To remedy the heating problem, the conventional HFC-134a automotive air-conditioning system has been attempted to run as a heat pump mode. Futhermore, an auxiliary electric heater of new type was equipped to the heat pump air-conditioning loop as a new approach. Hence, a proto-type heat pump air conditioner has been made and tested to investigate the feasibility of the HFC-134a automobile air-conditioning system that could be worked as a heat pump. The experiment results showed that the sufficient heating capacity could be obtained by adding a heat pump with an new electric type auxiliary heater into the conventional heat core in low temperature condition.

Kalina cycle has the characteristics of the high power generation efficiency, and been actively researched for the power generation system of the low temperature difference. Power generation efficiency of Kalina cycle is higher than that of the organic Rankine cycle in the case of the low temperature heat source. The non-azeotropic mixture of ammonia-water is used as working fluid of Kalina cycle for high power efficiency. In this paper analyzed theoretically the efficiency of the Kalina power generation system in order to determine the availability of the waste heat of an automobile.
