KSAE 자작 전기자동차 트랙션 모터의 냉각 성능 개선에 관한 연구

In this study, traction motor cooling duct for KSAE jajak EV was developed and the performance was validated by real vehicle driving tests. Traction motor cooling duct was designed by using general purpose commercial CAD program SolidWorks and prototype was manufactured via 3D Printing. Flow simulations were conducted to predict cooling performance of cooling duct and it showed that the cooling duct can guide ram air to traction motor located in the backside of the jajak EV which can be helpful for the traction motor cooling. Coastdown test was performed to find the aerodynamic drag increase due to the cooling duct and it was confirmed that the drag increase can be negligible. Finally, cooling test was performed and the real results showed that the cooling duct can decrease the traction motor temperature by approximately 7 to 11 degrees during highloading driving condition with negligible increase of road-load.
