중부지방에서 플러그 육묘에 의한 춘파 양파 품종의 생육과 저장성

양파의 재배 지역 확대 및 재포 기간을 단축하고자 동절기 플러그 육묘를 통한 춘파재배를 위한 품종별 생육 특성과 수량, 저장성을 검토하였다. 중부지방의 평지에서 양파를 춘파재배한 결과 품종별로 육묘시의 생육차이가 수확시의 생육이나 수량에는 큰 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 수량은 도복시기가 관련 있어 구비대가 6월 말 정도로 다소 늦게 이루어지는 경우가 충분한 구비대로 수량이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 품종에 따른 도복시기는 ‘천주대고(Cheonjudaego)’ 등의 품종들은 6월 말이 지나도 도복이 이루어지지 않아 중부지방 평지에서 춘파 양파 재배 시 도복시기에 따른 품종선택에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 구중은 ‘센슈추쿠키(Senshuchukooki)’, ‘아톰(Atom)’, ‘하이볼EX(Hiball EX)’ 등이 컸으나 ‘와세소닉(Wase sonic)’ 같은 품종과는 차이가 컸다. 그러나 수량은 구중 이외에 상품성에 의해서 수량이 결정 되어, 비교적 구중이 무겁고 상품성이 좋았던 ‘아톰(Atom)’, ‘에이스(Ace)’, ‘럭키(Lucky)’, ‘OP’ 등이 경우가 전체적인 상품수량에서 좋은 경향을 나타내었다. 춘파재배한 양파를 3개월간 저장한 경우 상품률이 ‘에이스(Ace)’의 93%에서 ‘와세소닉(Wase sonic)’의 13%까지 품종에 따른 차이가 컸는데, 도복시기가 빠른 품종들이 저장성이 낮게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때, 양파 평지 춘파재배를 할 경우 도복이 빠른 품종을 피해서 재배하는 것이 유리하나 계절적인 특성을 고려하여 도복이 너무 늦게 되는 품종도 피해야 할 것으로 생각된다. 일반적으로 생산되는 대부분의 양파는 바로 창고에 입고하여 저장되어 이용되나, 평지의 춘파 양파는 재배목적을 뚜렷이 하여 수확과 동시에 이용하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 생각한다. Bulb onion cultivation area has been restricted in southern part of Korea to avoid blotting and bulb division. The traditional culture method is transplanting bare-rooted plantlet into the field at the end of summer and harvesting at the beginning of next summer. The hot weather and weak plantlets occasionally causes unstable supply of onions in autumn. In order to enlarge cultivation area and to reduce culture period, long nursery system using plug tray and spring transplanting was tried. Forty cultivars collected from Korea and Japan were nursed using 200-plug tray and transplanted to the field in spring. Marketable yield was not related to the seedling size but lodging time. Cultivar of 'Hamasodachi' was lodged early and resulted low marketable yield. Cultivar of 'Cheonjudaego' was not lodged and yielded high but not in accordance with storability. Generally early lodged cultivars showed low storability. In order to avoid rainy harvesting season, cultivars requires excessive long time for lodging is not recommended for spring culture. Using plug nursery and spring transplanting, we successfully produced marketable onions in 3 months. But immediate using of the harvested onion is recommended, The storability of produced onions showed different result among cultivars, storage of spring onion was not recommended.
