Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate effects of using the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) contract-relax technique in the close kinetic chain position on the gait ability and gastrocnemius muscle tone of stroke patients. Methods: The subjects were patients who had strokes due to cerebrum infarction and hemorrhage. The subjects participated in exercise with the PNF contract-relax technique in the standing-on-elbow position with a high table, and the affected lower leg was placed in the posterior position. The PNF contract-relax technique was applied at the position in which the ankle plantar-flexors were in a sufficiently elongated position. After performing twice in each range, while the muscle was elongated, the affected side was moved further back and a new range was set. In each session, the time of contraction was set to 8 seconds, and the resting time was set to 5 seconds; however, if the patient felt tired, they received more resting time during the intervention. The Myoton Pro and 10 m walking test were used to measure the muscle tone and gait ability both pre- and post-intervention. Results: After participating in the program, the muscle tone decreased and the gait ability improved in the ankle plantar-flexors, as determined by the Myoton Pro and 10 m walking test. Conclusion: The PNF contract-relax technique can help to decrease muscle tone in ankle plantar-flexors with hypertonus and increase the gait ability in stroke patients.

미디어 정치경제학의 학문적 지형과 이론적 과제

미디어 정치경제학은 미국을 중심으로 한 주류 커뮤니케이션 연구의 실증주의와 행태주의적 경향에 반기를 들며 등장한 비판커뮤니케이션 연구전통의 하나이다. 비판커뮤니케이션 연구는 주류 커뮤니케이션 연구가 메시지의 효과에 과도한 관심을 기울인다고 비판하면서, 사회의 권력관계와 지배구조 재생산에 커뮤니케이션 메시지와 제도가 어떤 기능을 하는지에 주목하였다. 특히 미디어 정치경제학은 커뮤니케이션 제도의 소유와 통제, 미디어의 생산, 유통 및 수용과정, 그리고 커뮤니케이션과 자본주의 재생산 간의 관계에 대한 분석을 통해 권력의 문제를 다루는 데 주력해왔다. 이 글의 목적은 미디어 정치경제학의 학문적 지형과 이론적 과제를 살펴보는 데 있다. 먼저 미디어 정치경제학의 학문적 지형에 대한 검토는 미디어 정치경제학의 학문적 특성, 주요 관심주제, 주요 연구자들, 학문적 허브, 주요 논문, 주요 학술조직과 학회지 등을 살펴보는 것에 의해 이루어진다. 이어서 본 연구는 미디어 정치경제학 내에서 혹은 문화연구 등과의 이론적 논쟁을 통해 제기된 미디어 정치경제학의 이론적 한계들을 간략하게 되짚어보고, 이를 극복하기 위한 노력과 앞으로의 당면과제들을 검토할 것이다. This study explores the academic development of the Political Economy of Communication, which is pursued by reviewing academic characteristics, research subjects, key scholars, formal and informal institution as an academic hub, key articles, major academic associations and academic journals. In addition, this study examines important theoretical limitations and tasks to deal with in the future, which have been exposed through several heated debates with other research traditions such as Cultural Studies and Post Modernism.

민간부문, 사적권위, 그리고 글로벌 미디어 거버넌스

본 연구는 정치, 경제, 문화의 영역에서 급속도로 진행되어 온 지구화가 결과한 국제 정치의 탈중심화 현상과 이를 상징하는 국제정치경제에서의 민간부문의 영향력 증대 현상을 글로벌 미디어 거버넌스와 관련하여 논의하는데 그 주요한 목적이 있다. 먼저 본 논문은 글로벌 거버넌스에서 민간부문의 영향력 강화 현상을 이론적으로 설명하고자 일군의 국제정치학자들이 제기한 사적권위라는 개념의 소개를 통해 어떻게 민간부문의 거버넌스 기능이 국가에 의해 행사되는 공적권위와 같이 정당한 것으로 인식될 수 있는지를 검토한다. 사적권위 개념의 등장은 국제정치에서 민간부문이 국가에 종속된 것으로서의 부차적 지위에서 벗어나 국가에 버금가는 거버넌스의 주체로 부상하고 있음을 보여주는 중요한 증거라고 할 수 있다. 이 같은 이론적 논의에 기반하여 본 논문은 민간부문의 영향력 강화로 특징져지는 국제정치의 탈중심화가 글로벌 미디어 거버넌스의 영역에서는 어떠한 형태로 나타나고 있으며, 그것의 함의는 무엇인지에 대해 시론적으로 논의한다. This study examines the increasing influence of the private sector in global media governance, which represents decentralization of international politics resulted from the rapid globalization in the areas of politics, economy and culture. Introducing a concept of the private authority which theoretically explains increasing power of the private sector, including transnational corporations and business associations in global governance, this study discusses how the private sector and its governance activities can be recognized as legitimate as those of the state. Based on this theoretical discussion, the study examines what the increasing role and power of the private sector in global media governance imply with regard to democratic accountability.

This study aimsto examine how Britainhas restructured a systemof media governance, responding to the converging industrial and market structure. It examines the process of regulatory reform to establish an independent regulatory agency, Ofcom since the late 1980s and its political implications. Two arguments are drawn from the study. First, the regulatory reform in Britain is the outcome of a complex social process wherein various stake holders have competed and negotiated to achieve their best interests. Second, Discourse has played a critical role in the regulatory reform process, defining policy problems in a certain way and mobilizing institutional and popular support around a position of the powerful coalition of telecommunication interests.

GHz 대역용 전파흡수체의 개발

폐 처리된 Ba, Sr 페라이트를 사용하여 GHz 대역용 전파흡수체를 개발하였다. 도전 손실재인 카본의 첨가에 따른 전파흡수능의 변화와 시편의 두께 그리고 시편 제작시 제작온도 변화에 따른 전파흡수능의 변화를 조사하였다. 이와 같은 실험을 통하여 GHz 대역용 Ba, Sr 페라이트 전파흡수체를 개발하는데 있어 카본의 첨가가 매우 유효함을 알았으며, 시편의 제작온도 또한 우수한 전파흡수체를 개발하는데 있어 반드시 고려되어야 함을 밝혔다. 이와 같은 실험을 실시하여 20dB 이상의 전파흡수체를 개발 할 수 있었다. We prepared EM wave absorbers by using recycled Ba and Sr ferrites for GHz frequency, and investigated the effects of carbon additions. thickness and preparation temperatures on their EM wave absorption properties. We clarified that it is very important to consider carbon amounts in Ba and Sr ferrites and preparation temperature for Ba and Sr ferrite EM wave absorbers with high quality. In this study, the developed a EM Wave absorber satisfying over 20 dB.

동적 신경근 안정화 접근법과 결합한 PNF 중재 프로그램이 소뇌 위축 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향 -사례보고-

Purpose: This case report examines the influence of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) combined with a dynamic neuromuscular stabilization approach on balance in patients with cerebellar atrophy. Methods: The target subject of this case report was a 34-year-old woman who was informed of the purpose of this research and voluntarily agreed to participate in it. The case report conformed to research ethics based on the Helsinki Declaration. The target subject was confirmed to have cerebellar atrophy from an unknown cause in 2009 and was diagnosed with slight ataxia. At that time, she could carry out daily activities without physical therapy. On May 19, 2015, she suffered both a subdural hemorrhage (SDH) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in a traffic accident. She was urgently moved to the emergency room and managed by nonsurgical treatment, and then, the cerebellar atrophy and ataxia gradually deteriorated. To evaluate the patient's balance capacity before and after intervention, the trunk impairment scale (TIS), trunk impairment scale (OLST) during eye-closing/opening, timed up and go test (TUG), and visual analogue scale (VAS) were conducted. The PNF intervention program was executed for 30 min, four times a week, for three weeks. Results: The TIS and OLST during eye-closing/opening were improved by as much as a point, by 8.15 s and 6.21 s, respectively, after applying the PNF program. TUG and VAS decreased by 1.33 s and 3 points, respectively, after intervention. According to the result, the OLST during eye-closing/opening and VAS improved remarkably in comparison with those before intervention. Conclusion: As the final result of the case report, PNF intervention combined with DNSA more effectively improved the static balance capacity, such as the OLST during eye-closing/opening and VAS, compared to the dynamic balance capacity. In addition, the intervention duration and period of the exercise program are recommended to be more than 1 h a day for four weeks considering the learning ability of a patient with cerebellar atrophy.
