Food waste can be a valuable carbon source in biological nutrient removal (BNR) systems because of high C/N and C/P ratios. However, food waste should be pretreated to promote its hydrolysis rate because hydrolysis reaction would be a rate-limiting step. This study investigates the influence of the enzymatic pretreatment on acid fermentation of food waste. Solubilization of particulate matter in food waste by using commercial enzymes was examined. The acidification efficiency and the volatile fatty acids (VFAs) production potential of enzymatically pretreated food waste were also examined. The highest volatile suspended solids (VSS) reduction was obtained with an enzyme mixture ratio of 1:2:1 of carbohydrase:protease:lipase. An optimum enzyme dosage for solubilization of food waste was $0.1\%$(V/V) with the enzyme mixture ratio of 1:2:1. In the acid fermentation of enzymatically pretreated food waste, $0.1\%$(V/V) enzyme mixture dosage for pretreatment result in the maximum VFAs production and the best VFAs fraction in soluble COD(SCOD). The VFAs production at this addition level was 3.3 times higher than that of no-enzyme added fermenter. The dominant VFAs present was n-butyrate followed by acetate.

This paper presents performance analysis of an ER (electro-rheological) engine mount. A shear-mode type ER engine mount is devised and its equation of motion is derived from a bond graph method. Subsequently, a full-car model which is installed with ER engine mounts is established, followed by the construction of the governing equations of motion. Field-dependent vibration isolations of the full-car system are analyzed by considering excitation forces of the engine.<br/>

본 논문에서는 지상에 소정의 간격과 규칙적으로 설치된 자성체와 열차에 탑재된 영구자석 및 전자유도 전압 검출 코일을 이용하여 열차의 속도 및 통과 위치를 검출하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 열차 속도 및 검출을 위한 축소 모델을 구축하고 실험을 통하여 제안한 방법의 타당성을 입증하였다.

The effect of a direct current (DC) electric field on the characteristics of flame spread over polyethylene (PE) -insulated twin electrical wires was studied by varying wire gap (S) and voltage (VDC). The flame spread rate (FSR) for the wire with negative voltage (SF-) was larger than with positive voltage (SF+) initially and becomes the same in developed region. The FSR could be classified into two regimes; twin flame spread and single flame spread after the extinction of positive voltage (SF+). In each regime, three sub-regimes are identified depending on S and VDC. In each regime, FSR could be characterized by S and VDC The variation of FSR was explained by thermal balance mechanism with ionic wind effect. In high intensive of voltage, the flames were extinguished, at excessive voltages, an electrical short occurred.
