        공업고등학교 실기지도방법 개선방안

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of motivation by presenting behavioral objectives and evaluation criteria on skill performance and the variables related to shop teaching at the technical high school. The method of the study was devided into two different approaches, the one was a experimental research which tested the significant differences of the student skill achievement scores between a controlled group and three experimental groups being motivated by the objectives and evaluation criteria. The other method was questionnaire survey conducted on the technical subject teachers at the 21 technical high schools selected by stratified cluster sampling method. Independent variables of questionnaire were consisted of factors selected from the properties of teacher, student, shop and school. Dependent variables were shop teaching competency degree and school shop management competency degree of technical teacher. After data screening, 617 data were analyzed by one way analysis of variance, Scheffe`s F, x²test. Followings are four main findings of the study. Firstly, behavioral objective was not significantly powerful as a motivation method. However, the expermental group being motivated by evaluation criteria scored significantly higher than controlled group. Secondly, the variables affecting the competency level of shop teaching were, teaching career, industry experience, educational background, job satisfaction, student entry behavior, student interest on practice class, age of school shop, status of shop equipments and tools, amount of materials, lighting, ventilation, heating, types of school foundation, type of technical high school, principal`s attitude toward the practice. Thirdly, the variables affecting the performance level of shop organization and management were age, industry experience, student entry behavior, student interest on practice class, status of shop equipments and tools, amount of equipments and tools, lighting, ventilation, heating, types of school foundation, type of technical high school, principal`s attitude toward the practice. Lastly, the Korean technical teachers were using the teacher centred shop teaching methods such as four step teaching and lecture without regard to courses and grades of students. Students were motivated by extrinsic motivation method such as evaluation criteria than intrinsic one such as objective perception. During practice class the student had been tried to lessen the stress occured by evaluation criteria. The technical teachers were more significantly affected by student properties than their own properties. Based on the findings, followings are recommended. The technical subject teachers should develop the specified evaluation criteria according to each job sheets and motivate students presenting the evaluation criteria at the introduction step of practice class. The administrators should keep their teachers have job satisfaction and practice facilities under the best condition. The teacher should use student centred teaching method such as project method and problem solving method at upper grades.

        This study aims to find historical background through the literature review upon the chairs, which had been popular during each era, from the 19th century to the present. The 19th century in chair design is characterized as a transitional period to modern design, Meanwhile in the 20th century the distintive fea tures of chair design might be charaterized by rationalism, funtionalism, and mass production for common peaple. Modern chairs were made of various new materials including plastics, rubber, metal. glass fiber, and etc. Another distinctive feature of the modern chairs is that most of the famous chairs were made by the compentent architencts rather than the crafsman before<br/> The modern chair designers must get ideas from past designs on the basis of understanding of their historical background.

        공업교육의 문제점과 활성화 방안

        This study was carried out to suggest some recommendations for the government to establish policies on the vocational high school in Korea. The research method was based on the literature review. At present the vocational schools are facing critical problems, among them the shortage of candidate students and the low level of entry behaviors are very serious. Therefore a lot of schools are encourage students to prepare entrance examination for the universities and colleges. They lost the goals and identities based on the vocational education foundations. The researcher recommend the government and schools to turn around for the original standpoint which they provide industries competent skilled worker. In particular they need to emphasize the specialized subjects including practices mainly in stead of liberal subjects. The researcher also recommend them to hand over the curriculum development role to the teachers and give them maximum flexibility to meet the changing industries` needs. The teachers must to have a chance to be trained within the industries during the relatively long term, 3-6months at least. To cope with the present discouraged environments the president should to have keen interests on the vocational schools and the government to support sufficient budget for practice class. It might also cautiously consider the possibility to reduce the number of technical high schools.

        우리나라 산업사회에서 공업교육의 역할분담과 전망

        During last decade, having kept economic growth rath very highly in the Republic of Korea, it was very hard to find the differences of the role between technical high schools being run under tha Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Centres under the Ministry of Labour in terms of manpower development. However, facing the economic stagnation, the industries want to employ the highly skilled craftsman instead of limited skilled worker. This paper recommend the vocational training centres to pay their attention to a variety of programmes; retraining for the layoffs, refresh training the aged skilled workers, upgrading training for the present employees and further training for the workers having qualification certificates. On the other hand, the technical high school need to increase efforts to supply the more gualified broad skilled workers to meet the changing industry.

        첨단산업이 공업고등학교에 미치는 영향과 대책

        The purpose of the study was to foresee the influence of High-Tec industries on the technical high school in Korea and recommend strategies to meet the changing industrial societies. To begin with the researcher took a general view of present status and future perspective of High-Tec field and its related industries by literature review. The High-Tec industries taken in the study were electronic, data processing, communication, new materials, mechanical and energy, which had been developed following the inovation of semiconductor chips, microelectronics, computers, robots and so on. As soon as the industries change, the courses and the number of student of the technical high school must be adjusted. Among the new courses to be recommendable there are the courses related to office automation, factory automation and data processing. Most of mechanical and constructional courses should not increse the number of student within a few years. According to the industrial change, the curriculum and teaching methods should be changed to meet the new needs.

        목표 지향 평가 방법에 대한 학습자 반응

        This study provides findings of learner responses on the criterion-referenced evaluation. In order to find the effects of the evaluation, the resercher provided the criterion-referenced evaluation sheet to pactice class at the motivation stage. The data were collected by questionnaire surveys which had implemented just after the student finished practice task. The samples were selected among the construction practice classes of the Industrial Technology Education Department of the College of Engineering, the Chungnam University by the purposive sampling method. The questionnaire included ten items which had five answers devided by Likert scale. Among 82 data, 79 were processed to find descriptive statistics. Most of the respondents believed that the criterion-referenced evaluation sheet presentation as a motivation means were very effective. Because they were strongly motivated to achieve the given goals, further they could check each evaluation items whether they reach the goal or not. However there were negative effects, unnecessary strong competitive attitude might hazard cooperative workmanship among the practice class.

        이원분류표에 의한 국가기술자격검정 필기시험 출제 개선방안

        Since 1977 the national technical qualification system has been enlarged drastically reaching to more than 800 kinds of trades and levels. However, many shortcomings have been shown throughout the whole process of system operation. Among them this paper was concentrated in how to improve the reliability and validity of the written test items by the two way table which has 6 hierachical behavior statements at the top and subject matters in left column. And this study recommend to keep item career record with the results of item difficulties and discriminations just following each test.

        제7차 공업계 고등학교 전문 교과 교육과정 개발 과정

        This study is to formulize the approach process of curriculum development so specifically that will be implemented for the technical high school in the 2002 year. Up to now when the Ministry of Education didn`t do job analysis prior to the curriculum development. At first the researcher reviewed literatures and studied the theoretical background. Then the approach process were suggested specifically one by one. At the first step of many phases the DACUM brainstorming would be taken with 8-12 experts selected from industries. And the raw informations of the DACUM charts would be screened by a variety of educational variables such as teacher`s competency, schooling duration, facilities, student`s entry level behavior, and so on. The most difficult work among curriculum development activities is to describe the performance objective including measurable criteria. It is recommendable to organize the curriculum development team with the one from university, a teacher from technical high school and a fully experienced person from industry. Finally after finalizing the whole process the researcher identified some issues to be solved at the next term curriculum and recommended their solutions together. Among them the most critical point is the fixed subjects` titles which the ministry of education issued before the job analysis. In addition to that the basic structure of technical high school curriculum had not changed from the subject based curriculum to the competency basis one. Currently it is also one of problem that the characteristic and goal of the technical high school is confused among the related educators.
