Purpose: To understand the essentials of rearing conflict experience by three shift nurses in advanced general hospitals. Methods: The design was a qualitative research of phenomenology. Participants were 7 shift nurses working in advanced general hospitals who were rearing young children. Data were collected individually through in-depth interview on their life experiences. Data were analyzed by Colaizzi’s phenomenological methodology. Results: Eighteen themes were drawn from 256 meaningful experiences and these themes were integrated to six theme clusters. The most influencing themes were ‘Regret that I cannot satisfy even the slightest wish’, ‘Fail to care for kids’, and ‘Mutual feeling to care giver between appreciation and inconvenience’. Other themes were as follows: ‘Body and mind are broken’, ‘The need for a three-shift system to support nurses who are rearing children’, ‘Doing my best for work and child rearing’. Conclusion: The nature of three-shift nurses working in advanced hospital and caring kids is explained as ‘lives with conflict’ between work and home. This study suggests it is necessary to establish a 24-hour care center for 3-shift nurses to keep working while rearing their children.

데이타 마이닝을 위하여 수집된 대용량의 데이타를 여과 없이 기계학습에 적용하는 것은 많은 시간과 비용이 요구될 뿐만 아니라 저장 공간면에서도 비효율적이다. 선별적 샘플링은 이러한 상황에서 매우 효율적으로 적용할 수 있도록 원본 데이타의 특성을 가능한 반영하여 새로운 훈련 데이타를 생성하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 신경망의 하나인 SOM을 적용한 선별적 샘플링을 수행하는데 있어서 여러 가지 선택 문제를 효과적으로 해결하기 위한 실험을 수행한다. 실험 결과로는 두 가지 결과를 얻었다. 1) 충분한 맵 사이즈를 선택해야 학습 데이타의 함축적인 특성을 잘 반영한다, 2) 선택적 샘플링을 위한 유닛선택 방법에서는 의미없는 유닛을 제거함으로서 분류 성능향상을 얻을수 있다.
지역사회기반 참여연구를 활용한 베하스(BeHaS) 프로그램이 대사증후군 독거노인의 건강행위, 생리적 지수 및 자아존중감에 미치는 효과

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effects of a 12-week metabolic syndrome BeHaS (Be Happy and Strong) program in elderly people with metabolic syndrome living alone, based on a community-based participatory research (CBPR). Methods: A nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was used, and the participants were 43 elderly people living alone (experimental group 24, control group 19). The experimental group received a one-hour program per week and two individual health consultations during 12 weeks. The control group received two sessions about the metabolic syndrome and two individual health consultations. The effects of health behavior, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, abdominal circumference, triglycerides, and self-esteem were evaluated. The data were analyzed using the independent t-test and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The health behavior with respect to the metabolic syndrome in the experimental group increased significantly (t = - 3.19, p = .002). Both diastolic blood pressure and abdominal circumference decreased in the experimental group (t = 2.00, p = .028 and t = 3.91, p < .001). No significant differences were observed between the groups in systolic blood pressure, fasting blood sugar levels, triglycerides, and self-esteem. Conclusion: The 12-week metabolic syndrome BeHaS program using community resources improves the health of elderly people with metabolic syndrome living alone. Based on these findings, further studies on the effectiveness of the metabolic syndrome BeHaS program and the experiences of those who participated in the CBPR are warranted.
Human Aortic Smooth Muscle Cell에서 하엽(荷葉)의 항동맥경화 활성 연구

Objectives: The proliferation and migration of human aortic smooth muscle cells (HASMC) in response to activation by various stimuli plays a critical role in the initiation and development of atherosclerosis. This study was conducted to examine the effects of Nelumbo nucifera leaves (NNL) on the proliferation and migration of HASMC. Additionally, the mechanisms involved in any observed effects were also evaluated. Methods: Apoptotic cells were measured by staining with FITC-labeled annexin V, followed by flow cytometric analysis. The expression level of apoptosis related proteins was confirmed by western blot. And MMP-9 activity was measured by gelatin zymography and MMP-9 expression was measured by ELISA Results: NNL completely inhibited the proliferation of HASMC via induction of the expression of apoptotic proteins including annexin V, cleaved poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP), and caspase-3 and -8. NNL treatment resulted in the release of cytochrome c into cytosol, a loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, a decrease in Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL and an increase in Bax expression. NNL also blocked HASMC migration via suppression of MMP-9. Conclusions: Taken together, these results indicate that NNL has the potential for use as an anti-artherosclerosis agent.

Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the related phenomenon structure and meaning by an in-depth exploration of theexhaustion experience of home healthcare nurses. Methods: Six nurses belonging to a general hospital or a higher gen eral hospital with home healthcare nursing experience were interviewed in-depth, and data were collected. Colaizzi sphenomenological research method was used to analyze the results. Results: It was integrated into 13 topics, 6 topiccollections, and 3 categories ( be weary of home care, the responsibility and burden as a professional, and the drivingforce of overcoming exhaustion. ) Conclusion: This study presented the difficulties and demands faced by nurses whoparticipated in home healthcare nursing along with the adaptation process. Therefore, legal and institutional support isneeded to improve the working environment in the home healthcare nursing process.

간척지를 농업용지로 개발하는데 간척지에 자생하는 식생의 이용가능성에 관한 기초 자료를 얻고자 새만금 간척지 내 계화지구에서 식생군락에 따라 식물종을 분류하고 토양 화학성과의 관계를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 담수면 토양을 기점으로 조사된 위치별 토양염농도는 담수면 인접부가 22.3dS m-1 로 가장 높았고 육지쪽으로 진행될수록 낮아져 해수면에서 2km이상 되는 지점에서는 1.1~3.44dS m-1를 나타냈다. 자생하는 식물은 6과 26종이 조사되었으며, 식물종별 발생빈도는 갯개미취, 비짜루국화가 61.5로 가장 높은 빈도를 나타냈고, 이어 갈대와 갯꾸러미풀이 53.8이었다. 식생의 발생은 토양 염농도 14dS m-1 지점에서 시작되었고 주로 명아주과 염생식물들인 퉁퉁마디, 나문재, 칠면초, 해홍나물 등이 나타났다. 이후 6.7dS m-1지점에서부터 화본과 식물인 갈대, 갯꾸러미풀 등이 나타났고, 5dS m-1 에서 사초과 식물이 나타났다. 3dS m-1이하에서는 비짜루국화, 갈대, 피, 갯잔디, 망초 등 중성식물들이 나타났다. 식생 종수는 염생식물과 중생식물이 동시에 나타나는 5dS m-1 지점에서 많았고, Biomass는 갈대가 우점한 식생구가 가장 많았으며, 다음으로는 갈대+자귀풀이 우점한 식생에서 많았다. 식생의 생장량은 토양 염농도와는 부의상관을 나타냈고, 유기물함량과는 정의상관을 나타냈으며, pH와 식생의 우점도간에는 부의 상관을 나타냈다. This study was conducted to survey vegetation changes and soil characteristics in Saemangeum new reclaimed tidal land. Soil salinity in border area to tidal land was 22.3 dS m-1 but showed 1.1~3.44 dS m-1 over the distance of 2 km from border line. The vascular plants in survey sites were recorded as total 26 taxa in 6 families. The frequency of species appearance of Aster tripolium, A. subulatus var. sandwicensis were highest by 61.5 and that of Phragmites communis, Puccinellia nipponica were 53.8. The almost vegetations occurred in the patch which range of soil salinity 14 dS m-1 were halophytes as Salicornia europaea, Suaeda asparagoides, S. japonica. As lowed soil salinity as 6.7 dS m-1, mixed vegetation of halophytes with P. communis, P. nipponica, Carex pumila were occurred. Dominant species in the range of 3.0 dS m-1 area were A. subulatus var. sandwicensis, P. communis, Echinochloa spp., Zoysia sinica and Conyza canadensis. Biomass production was the highest in the area of dominant vegetation with P. communis, and mixed zone with P. communis and Aeschynomene indica are followed. The correlation between vegetation biomass and soil salinity, soil pH and dominance index of vegetation were negative. But that of vegetation biomass and soil organic content were positive.
