The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the behavior of reinforced concrete columns strengthened by section enlargement in consideration of long-term deformation. Experimental variables considered in this study are sustained-loading and new casting materials. Long-term deformation test and static loading test have been carried out on 7 types of specimens. The test results show that outer reinforced concrete column does not greatly influence the long-term deformation of inner reinforced concrete column due to creep and the column specimen under lower sustained load has larger load bearing capacity than that under larger sustained load.

수질오염총량관리를 위한 할당부하량은 점과 비점으로 구분되어 관리되어진다. 점배출부하량은 연중 비교적 일정한 형태로 나타나는 반면, 비점배출부하량은 강우조건에 따라 다양한 형태로 나타나고 있다. 이중 하수종말처리장에서 도달하게 되는 관거유입부하량은 강우조건과 관거의 상태에 따라 다르게 나타나고 있다. 이에 하수관거해석의 주요 인자가 되고 있는 토지계 관거유입부하량을 제2단계 오염총량관리기술지침에 맞추어 해석하고, 이를 통하여 합리적인 해석 방안을 제시하고자 연구를 하였다. 그 결과로 광주지역의 하수관거해석의 주요 인자가 되고 있는 토지계 관거유입부하량은 BOD의 경우 전체 관거유입부하량의 2.0~3.8%의 낮은 범위를 나타내며, T-P의 경우에는 13.6~22.6%영향을 주고 있는 것을 얻을 수 있었다. Discharged pollution load for the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads(TMDLs) is calculated on the basis of rainfall data for reference year. Rainfall has an influence on discharged pollution load in unit watershed with combined sewer system. This study reviewed the inflow and inflow-loading from land for wastewater treatment plant according to rainfall conditions. We also investigated rainfall effects on discharged pollution load by analysing change of the load in accordance with different years. The ratio of non-point load for low water level is 19.3% and that for average water level is 37.6% in Gwangju district. The ratio of land-induced load in the inflow for wastewater treatment plant is 2.0~3.8% for BOD and 13.6~22.6% for T-P.

This research was designed to experience and find applications storage of the movie data in the clinical transmission, and cardiovascular analysis by the equipment coupling in connection with the cardiac PACS. The construction case of three university hospital was presented in the present study. This system helps to give us the whole picture of cardiac services. Therefore, physician can view images and finish reports quickly. Thus, providing effective use of patients care. The construction of the Cardiac PACS, Provides Quick inquiry for the myocardial infraction patient in the emergenly cases.

Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)-aluminum complex(ALQ_3) having greenish luminescent characteristics was synthesized and it was confirmed with UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and FT-IR spectroscopy that ALQ_3 was successfilly synthesized. Thin films of ALQ_3 having multilayer structure were prepared by spin coating method and vacuum evaporation technique. Photopluminescent characteristics of these films were investigated by Luminescence spectroscopy and Current-Voltage(I-V) characteristics of these films were also investigated.
IEEE 802.11 무선 네트워크에서 GPS와 SNR을 이용한 핸드오버 메커니즘

본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11 링크 계층의 핸드오버 성능을 증가시킬 수 있는 메커니즘을 제시한다. 본 메커니즘은 GPS에 기반한 AP 맵을 참조하여 스캐닝할 채널 수를 줄인다. 또한 모바일 노드와 주변 AP들의 SNR값들을 모니터링 함으로써 주어진 경계값보다 높은 SNR값을 유지하도록 핸드오버한다. 실험 결과, 본 메커니즘은 6.7%의 통신 단절률을 가지며 평균 16.8 dB의 SNR값을 가진다. 이는 기존의 MadWifi가 사용하는 핸드오버 방식에 비해서는 4.1% 낮은 통신 단절률이며, 26% 높은 평균 SNR값이다. In this paper, we propose a mechanism for increasing the handover performance of the IEEE 802.11 link layer. The mechanism reduces the number of scanning channels by referencing an AP map based on GPS. Also, by monitoring the SNRs of the mobile node and neighbor APs, it enables the handover to maintain a higher SNR than a given threshold. The experimental results establish that it has a disconnection ratio of 6.7% and an average SNR of 16.8 dB. It is 4.1% lower disconnection ratio and 26% higher SNR than the mechanism used by MadWifi.
일광 노출과 관련된 표피 종양에서 MAPK 발현에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

N/A Background : Mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) is an important molecule in transducing extracellular signal from cell surface to the nucleus. MAPK family includes ERK(extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase), JNK(stress-activated c-Jun N-terminal kinase), p38 kinases. Not only various growth factors and cytokines, but also other signals such as UV light are able to activate MAPK, resulting in various cellular responses including proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. Objective : The purpose of our study was to determine patterns of MAPK expression in epidermal tumors including seborrheic keratosis(SK) on sun-exposed skin and unexposed area, actinic keratosis(AK), Bowen`s disease(BD), acantholytic squamous cell carcinoma(ASCC), and other squamous cell carcinoma(SCC). Methods : Using pan ERK, JNK-2 and p-JNK, we have examined MAPK expression immunohistochemically in epidermal tumors(total 30 cases) including SK on sun-exposed skin(5 cases) and unexposed areas(5 cases), AK(5 cases), BD(5 cases), ASCC(5 cases), and SCC(5 cases). Results : ERK was expressed in AK and ASCC positively but not in BD, and the staining pattern with ERK also showed positivity in microinvasive area and dysplastic cells of SCC. JNK was not expressed in all tumor cells of SK, AK, BD, and ASCC with the exception of dyskeratotic cells in BD and acantholytic cells in ASCC. Conclusions : We suggest that ERK expression may be related to sun exposure and responsible for proliferation of tumor and invasion into surrounding tissue. JNK may not be related with malignant progression of tumor and carcinogenesis cauesd by sun exposure, but with apoptosis of tumor cells. (Korean J Dermatol 2003;41(5) : 578~585)

Background: This study evaluated the position and relationship between the right internal jugular vein (IJV) and the surrounding external landmarks using ultrasonography. Methods: Fifty-four patients undergoing central vein access for cardiac surgery were enrolled in this study. The IJV, carotid artery (CA) and sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) at the cricoid cartilage level in 15˚ trendelenburg position with 30˚ head rotation were examined using a two dimensional ultrasound transducer of a TEE machine. Images of the vessels and the demographic data of the patients were recorded and analysed. Results: At the level of the cricoid cartilage, the position of the right IJV was medial to middle of the clavicular head of the SCM muscle in 26 cases (48.2%), lateral in 11 cases (20.4%) and just above the middle of clavicular head of the SCM muscle in 17 cases (31.5%). In 43 patients (79.6%), the IJV overlapped the CA anterolaterlly < 5 mm, and these cases were regarded as normal. Ten patients (18.5%) had a medially positioned IJV overlapping the CA more than 5 mm and the IJV was positioned lateral to CA in 1 (2%) patient. The mean ratio of the overlapped diameter and the diameter of the CA was 33.6% and the overlapping ratios were greater than 50% in 10 patients (31.4%). The mean skin-to-vein distance at the angle of 30˚ was 1.82 cm. Conclusions: In 18.5% of patients positioned in the 15˚ Trendelenburg position, with their head turned to the left 30˚, the IJV overlapped the CA medially more than 5 mm, which increased the risk of a carotid puncture using the blind technique.
