Ice Rink is energy intensive building type. Concern of energy saving from buildings is one of very important issues nowadays. New and renewable energy sources for buildings are especially important when we concern about energy supply for buildings. Among new and renewable energy sources, use of seawater for heating and cooling is an emerging issue for energy conscious building design. The options of energy use from sea water heat sources are using deep sea water for direct cooling with heat exchange facilities, and using surface layer water with heat pump systems. In this study, energy consumptions for an Ice Rink building are analyzed according to the heat sources of air-conditioning systems; existing system and sea water heat source system, in a coastal city, Kangnung. The location of the city Kangnung is good for using both deep sea water which is constant temperature throughout the year less than 2℃, and surface layer water which should be accompanied with heat pump systems. The result shows that using sea water from 200m and 30m under sea lever can save annual energy consumption about 33% of original system and about 10% of that using seawater from 0m depth. Annual energy consumption is similar between the systems with seawater from 200m and 30m. Although the amount of energy saving in summer of the system with 200m depth is higher than that with 30m depth, the requirement of energy in winter of the system with 200m depth is bigger than that with 30m depth.

This study analyzed energy consumption of office building by ECOTECT ANALYSIS, a building energy simulation program. When lateral length of building increased, energy consumption of heating and cooling has been increased. Energy losses through conduction of building's fabric was increased but energy gains through direct isolation was increased. so it showed a little difference for total consumption energy. Gain of interior lighting level has been increased when lateral of building increased. So energy consumption of electric lighting has been decreased. Resultingly when the ratio of lateral to longitudinal length change, lateral long length of a building has more disadvantage too heating and cooling energy than square shape building but we found that the total consumption of energy could be excellent through advanced lighting design, at a plan for conservative of lighting energy.
공공기관 건물의 에너지 성능개선을 위한 패시브 요소 적용의 에너지 절감율 분석 연구

The energy used in Korea is strongly dependent on that produced by foreign countries. Accordingly, saving energy is more important than ever, because of the rise of international oil prices and depletion of oil resources.The development of energy efficient buildings is required especially for public buildings in Korea. In this study, the energy use of public buildings is identify. Then, the analysis of energy usage through regional offices in Busan City offers energy performance for public buildings.

Since the industrial revolution, the global environmental problems such as greenhouse gas accumulation and the average temperature increase have caused people's attention. 'Low Carbon, Green Growth' was presented to cope with these global concerns, as one of main policies of 2008 in Korea. The paradigm of a green urban development is started to concern the whole city's energy problems owing to realize 'Low Carbon, Green Growth' in the urban side. The government established a nation's basic energy plan for 20 years, and some local cities made efforts to develop new renewable energy such as the solar, wind and water energy which are suitable to each city's character. As a part of these efforts, the concept of U-Eco city is newly appeared to reflect upon ubiquitous technique, urban ecology and the next generation energy system. However, urban plan is difficult to adopt this next generation energy system with existing laws, regulations and technical systems. The new executive and systematic system is needed to realize the U-Eco city U-Eco for the management of an efficient city. In this study, the authors investigate the concept of the next generation energy system and U-Eco city to realize the energy-efficient city plan and analyze problems to occur during the application of them in an existing city plan. Then, the authors show the remedies to deal with occurred problems.

Future housing trends require green and healthy with automatic control for them. Bio-housing is for this new cultural housing trend. However, in order to acquire bio-housing, performance standards are required to encourage proper design and development. This paper investigates current housing assessment systems for extract ideas of bio-housing assessment. Then, the items taken from the investigation are categorized into bio-housing elements such as healthy, high-performance and automated categories. The elements can be used for encouraging bio-housing design and construction.

Recently, many social, economical and political problems have occurred in the field of urban energy supply because of the depletion of fossil fuels and the international climate change agreements and the current energy-related laws focus on individual buildings which makes them difficult to implement. Also, the policies for energy savings have increased day by day, but it is difficult to establish efficient urban plan because of lack of integrated policies and institutions. Current legal systems for urban plan does not cover domestic and international climate change agreements, energy related industry's structural changes and other environmental problems such as embodied energy and global warming. This paper tries to investigate current conditions of legal system to provide fundamental materials for improving energy saving urban plan.
