The way of prevention for the continuous corrosion progress in iron antiquities after excavation and conservation treatment have been studied. The corrosion occuring have been found the oxidation of ferrous ions in the presence of chloride. The consideration to control the activity of chloride is important of controling relative humidity for the stable environment of the storage. One of the method that keeps archeological iron antiquities recommend the storage of special vinyl film(poly-vinyl alcohol film) with silica gel to control the relative humidity. Although this method is not permanent, it's very well efficiency of economy and convenience at present.

Modern electronic equipments are becoming very important in information oriented society, but they are vulnerable to lightning surges. Soil resistivity in the vicinity of grounding electrodes may be affected by the current flowing from the grounding electrodes into the surrounding soil. Electrical conduction in soils depends on the grain size, compactness, and variability of the gram sizes. When a high current is injected into the soil, and the breakdown phenomenon occur. In the present work, Electrical behaviors related to discharge in soils were investigated. The breakdown voltages in soil were lower than that sparkover voltage in air. The breakdown voltage in the gravel layer is relatively low, and the breakdown was caused by the flashover through the surface of gravels.

The importance of the improving quality of electric power is being strongly raised, owing to an increasing use of sensitive and small-sized electronic devices and system. The transient overvoltage on low-voltage AC power distribution system are induced by direct or indirect lighting return strokes, and those can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility system for home automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipments. The behavior of lighting surge transferred to the primary side from the primary side in distribution transformers were experimentally investigated the protection effect of low voltage SPD installed at the secondary side of distribution transformers was analyzed.

There are unsymmetrical faults such as single line-to-ground faults, line-to-line faults, or double line-to-ground faults in overhead distribution system. Lightning surge arresters are stressed by system frequency overvoltages due to unsymmetrical faults. In this study, the unsymmetrical faults in three-phase four-wire overhead distribution systems were experimentally simulated, and characteristics of total leakage current of distribution surge arresters caused by these faults were investigated. Also, the variation aspects of total leakage current of distribution surge arrester caused by voltage variation were examined. As a result, abnormal voltages caused by voltage variation the line-to-line fault the two line-to-ground fault have a little effect of total leakage current on ZnO surge arrester. But the leakage current of ZnO surge arrester under single line-to-ground faults in solidly grounded systems was more than 20 times as compared with that under symmetrical states.
