Unlike the commonly used On/Off solenoid, constant attraction force--which is independent of plunger displacement is a considerably important characteristic to proportional solenoid of the EPPR Valve. Attraction force uniformity is mainly affected by the internal shape design parameters. Due to a number of shape design parameters, the optimal parameter values are very complex and time consuming to find by trial and error method. Much research has been conducted or are still in progress to find the optimal parameter values by applying various optimization techniques like Genetic Algorithm, Evolution Strategy, Simulated Annealing, or the Taguchi method. In this paper, the design parameters which have primary effects on the attraction force uniformity and the average attraction force are decided by main effects analysis of Design of Experiments. Optimal parameter values are derived using finite-element analysis and a neural network model.

Recently, swash plate type hydraulic axial piston motor are being extensively used in the world, because of simple design, light weight and effective cost. Structural problem of the swash plate type motor is that tilting angle of swash plate should be limited to relatively small value and lateral force on pistons has an undesirable effect in reciprocating motion. To solve these problems, piston rod mechanism, which is commonly used in bent axis type motor is considered to be applied to the swash plate type motor. In this paper, the torque for the swash plate motion of a swash plate hydraulic motor with constant velocity joint and piston rod mechanism is analyzed using mathematical modeling and Virtual.lab, a multibody dynamics analysis program.

This paper is a study to apply EPPR valve for the electronic control of variable displacement hydraulic piston pump. In order to adjust the displacement of the pump, a regulator capable of controlling the swash plate angle is required. I apply the EPPR valve which is a valve that controls the output pressure by proportional current. It can be applied to control the swash plate angle with the advantage of excellent response, competitive price and electronic control. So this study deals with the development of analytical model and analysis of characteristics of EPPR valve by using SimulationX.
