Stroke is one of most common fatal diseases. It has heavy influence over the quality of life of patients and their careers due to accompanied impairment. Thus rehabilitation after stroke is important and brain-computer-interface (BCI) based on EEG (electroencephalography) can be an effective solution as it can provide quantitative analysis and neuro-feedback training. However, there are only a few studies about the correlation between the degree of motor impairment and ERS (event-related synchronization) after motor execution. In this paper, we investigated the differences in ERS patterns between healthy controls and stroke patients and between two patient groups with severe and mild motor impairments to look at the possibility of ERS as the assessment of feature to the degree of motor impairment. Based on the results, we proposed that ERS has a possibility as a measurement feature in BCI rehabilitation system.
