To calculate atomic-level stress, we choose the stress formulation proposed by Shengpin Shen and S.N. Atluri. The formulation based on the SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) method does not need atomic volume. The formulation is not only robust, accurate, and easy to implement, but also appropriate for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous deformation. We illustrate various numerical examples of molecular dynamics simulation.

As importance of quality control in corporate environments is increasing, new methods for quality control have been suggested by various researchers. Based on gamification theory, this study suggests a new method for quality control. Firstly, this paper defines three problems of quality control that can be easily faced with in corporate environments. Secondly, three gamification methods aiming quality improvement are suggested. Finally, a survey is provided to prove the effect of the suggested gamification methods. Comparing the suggested gamification methods with the existing quality control methods, this study found that the suggested gamification methods could improve the level of quality control.

The elastic properties of friction materials in brake pads are important design parameters because modulus variations may be significant in noise generation of automotive braking systems. In this paper, the elastic properties of friction materials have been investigated through the precise ultrasonic velocity measurements. By exploiting the fundamental relationship among sound speed in specific propagation directions and the elastic constants, the engineering constants, i.e. Young’s modulus, shear modulus, and Poisson’s ratio, have been determined. With the measured elastic constants and engineering constants, the vibration characteristic analysis based on finite elements method has been carried out to analyze the modal characteristics and the squeal noise characteristics of the target disc brake systes.

Recently, AVCS (Advanced Vehicle Control Systems) and AHS (Automated Highway Systems) for ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) have been rapidly developed. Above all, the autonomous driving system enables a vehicle to be controlled automatically instead of the human driver's operation. However, we still have stability problems under the effect of the disturbances and the perturbations to the control plant model. In this paper, the model-matching control in longitudinal and lateral autonomous driving is investigated by vehicle dynamics simulation. The model-matching controller is constructed with 2 degrees of freedom controller to design the robust characteristics of the control plant model. For this purpose, the vehicle dynamic models including the model-matching controller are constructed for computer simulation. Simple examples are applied to check the validity of the model-matching control. As the practical example, the autonomous driving system is adopted. It is shown that the model-matching control can make the various characteristics of autonomous driving vehicles to be equivalent to those of a specific transfer function which is suggested as the reference model even if the parameters of the control plant model are changed.
트레드밀 운동과 밝은 빛이 흰쥐 해마의 GABA(A) 수용체와 Cdk5 발현에 미치는 영향

지속적인 운동과 햇빛 치료는 스트레스에 대한 저항력을 높여주고, 우울과 불안을 감소시키며, 이러한 과정은 신경전달물질 GABA의 분비에 따라 뇌의 신경세포의 성장 및 분화 그리고 발달과정에 관여한다. 본 연구는 트레드밀 운동과 밝은 빛이 흰쥐의 해마에서 GABAA 수용체의 활성에 의해 Ca2+이 세포내 유입이 되면 calcineurin의 칼슘 의존성 경로의 활성을 통해 NFATc4 단백질 및 뇌신경세포 발달과정에 관여하는 Cdk5 단백질과 대부분의 Cdk와는 달리 신경세포 특이적 조절인자인 p35의 변화가 신경세포 생성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 면역얼룩법을 수행하였다. 그 결과 GABAA 수용체, Cdk5 그리고 p35는 통제집단과 빛집단에 비해, KCC2와 NFATc4는 다른 모든 집단에 비해, calcineurin은 통제집단에 비해 운동+빛집단에서 유의미하게 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 운동과 빛의 복합적 치료는 뇌의 해마에서 뇌신경세포 발달 과정에 관여함으로써 뇌기능을 증진시키는데 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. It has been reported that continuous exercise and bright light exposure improved resistance to stress and reduced depression and anxiety, which were attributed to enhancing neurotransmitter GABA exocytosis and stimulating neurogenesis. In this study, the effects of treadmill exercise and bright light exposure on the expression of GABAA receptor activity, calcineurin and calcineurin calcium signaling pathway-depended NFATc4, neurogenesis-related protein Cdk5 and specific regulator factor of Cdk in neurogenesis p35 in the hippocampus of rats were investigated by western blot assay. The expression of GABAA receptor, Cdk5 and p35 significantly increased in the exercise+light group compared to the control group and the light group. The expression of KCC2 and NFATc4 significantly increased in the exercise+light group compared to all the other groups. And the expression of calcineurin significantly increased in the exercise+light group compared to the control group. The overall results showed that exercise and bright light stimulated neurogenesis of the hippocampus in rats and had positive effects on improving the brain neuronal function.
타이어 특성에 따른 ABS 장착 차량의 제동거리 해석에 관한 연구

Although diverse electronic control systems for vehicle safety issues have been developed, we still have many problems in the vehicle stability and the braking performance due to tire characteristics. Therefore, precise tire modeling and accurate tire investigation have been significant for advanced vehicle dynamic analysis. In this paper, braking distance analysis for conventional brake systems(CBS) and anti-lock brake systems(ABS) has been carried out, which contains the multi-body vehicle dynamic model and the brake control logic model. Also, tire parameters such as tread pattern design and tire/road friction, and vehicle parameters such as brake pad material and disc/pad friction have been analyzed by both computer simulation and vehicle test.
