Damping devices such as vibration isolation rubbers and oil dampers cause additional devices and environmental problems. In this paper, a polymer film wrapped spring is installed in a shock absorbing device using an experimental design method and the damping performance is tested using impact testing. In this experiment, the influence of the variables (film type, film tension, layer, how to surround) that affect damping performance of polymer film wrapped spring is investigated. Using MINITAB, the conditions that can optimize the damping effect are found, and the results are validated through simulation and experiments.

A particle damper is a device that acts as a passive damper that fills particles inside the enclosure in a variety of ways, resulting in energy dissipation due to collision and friction between the particle and the enclosure. In this paper, an experimental study is carried out to establish the damping performance in a low frequency band by installing a particle damper on a single degree of freedom cantilever beam using a design of experiments. In this process, we analyze the influence of the parameters (excitation amplitude, mass ratio, particle size, gap size, enclosure diameter) affecting the performance of the particle damper. Based on this, we try to optimize parameters of the particle dampers that can maximize attenuation of the system using MINITAB, and validate them through experiments.

There are various road traffic noise assessment methods in Korea. However, the current road traffic noise assessment method does not accurately reflect noise in areas where continuous traffic flows, such as highways. In the United States, the Continuous-Flow Traffic Time-Integrated Method (CTIM) exists, which is the road traffic noise assessment methods to measure the influence of road surfaces on highway traffic noise at a specific site. CTIM captures the sound from existing traffic for all vehicles on all roadway lanes. also include propagation effects over the roadway and adjacent terrain to the nearby measurement location. In this paper, analyze and compare the characteristics of Korean standard traffic noise measurement method and CTIM.
