        WTO 무역체제에서 세계 각국은 향후 자국에 유리한 국제시장 형성을 위하여 국제표준(ISO, IEC 등)을 신속히 국가표준으로 도입한다던지 또는 자국의 국가표준을 국제표준에 최대한 반영시킨다던지 하는 등의 국제 표준과 연계한 국가표준화 활동을 수행하고 있으며 이러한 국가표준화 활동의 효율적인 수행을 위하여 일관되고 효율적인 국가표준 추진체계를 수립하여 시행하고 있다.

        Today, wearable technology products are used in a wide range of consumer, healthcare, bio-medical, and industrial applications. The market for wearable technology products is expected to increase dramatically over the next several years. In addition, concerns for safety, performance and reliability of wearable products keep increasing and will be essential for widespread acceptance in the marketplace. Wearable smart devices, which are generally in contact with the human body and skin, are exposed to the risk of the electric shock, burn, and explosion. Therefore, the standardization of wearable devices in terms of human safety and reliability should be very important. Furthermore, the development of test method and test certification of the wearable products will be one of the key technology for mass production. Such standardization and certification will help consumers to choose the safest and best quality wearable devices and allow manufacturers to prove the safety and quality of their products, thereby helping them to gain a competitive technology. This paper discusses the current status of the wearable smart devices as well as the standardization and test certification applicable to wearable technology products.

        Noise is one of the major environmental problems in human life. But hot water distributers with the flow rate control valve bring about often noise according to the heating control condition in residential buildings. The sound power level increased as the flow rate and pressure difference increased. And thus, experimental analyses for the flow rate control and the pressure difference control were carried out in this study to reduce the noise emitted from the flow rate control valve. As the results, the flow rate control method using a SMA(Shape Memory Alloy)-valve and the flow rate control system using a pressure difference sensor can be expected to control noise in the region of below 50 ㏈ of sound power level.

      • 난방용 자동온도조절기 기술현황 및 향후 발전방향

        Various thermostatic valves(or automatic temperature control systems for heating) have been used widely in Korea for conservation of heating energy and enhancement of thermal comfort in residential buildings. But heating control performances of thermostatic valves extensively vary with the design and operational conditions of the heating system, climate condition and others. The technology trend for thermostatic valves was discussed in this study, such as heating control characteristics by temperature sensing methods, the kind of standard connected thermostatic valves and the present state for the certificate test of high efficiency energy using appliance. As the results for the certificate test, the total 103 models of thermostatic valves was tested in the KICT from 2002 to the present time. And the rate of failure was reached at 17%.

        미토콘드리아 DNA상의 유전자 다형성과 제2형 당뇨병과의 연관성 분석

        연구배경: 최근 많은 연구그룹들에 의해 제2형 당뇨병과 연관되어 있는 다양한 미토콘드리아 DNA의 SNP들이 보고되었으나 보고된 SNP의 제2형 당뇨병과의 관련성은 분석집단이나 연구그룹에 따라 이견을 보이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국인에서의 미토콘드리아 DNA의 다형성과 제2형 당뇨병과의 연관관계를 분석하고 지금까지 보고되어 있는 다른 민족 집단에서의 결과와 비교해보고자 하였다. 방법: 제2형 당뇨병환자군 147명과 정상인군 151명 총 298명의 말초혈액에서 DNA를 추출한 후 PCR 증폭을 통한 염기서열 분석을 실시하였다. 염기서열 분석은 DNASTAR program의 SeqMan software를 이용하였으며 발견된 SNP는 NCBI 사이트와 V-mitoSNP site를 이용하여 기존에 보고된 SNP 결과와 비교하였다. 결과: 한국인 제2형 당뇨병에서미토콘드리아 DNA의 MT-RNR2와 MT-TL1, MT-ND1부위의 SNP 분석결과 한국인 제2형 당뇨병환자군에서는 정상인군으로부터 24개의 SNP를 발견하였다. 그러나 유럽이나 아시아에서 보고된 결과들과 다르게 한국인에서 발견된 mtDNA의 SNP는 제2형 당뇨병의 발병과 큰 연관이 없는 것으로 관찰되었다. 또한 각 SNP의 일배체형이나 개체당 SNP 발생률 비교를 통한 분석결과도 제2형 당뇨병환자군과 정상인군을 구별할 수 있는 점을 발견하기 어려웠다. 결론: 연구결과 발견된 24개의 SNP는 다른 민족들에서의 결과와 다르게 한국인의 제2형 당뇨병과 큰 연관이 없는 것으로 관찰되었으며, 이러한 결과는 미토콘드리아 DNA의 SNP가 분석 대상이 되는 민족에 따라 제2형 당뇨병의 발병에 미치는 영향이 달라진다는 것을 암시한다. Background: Although many single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of mtDNA have been found to be associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus, the results of studies using different population samples and different methods are mixed. Therefore, we conducted a genetic association study of mtDNA SNPs and type 2 diabetes mellitus in a Korean sample and compared our results with those of studies conducted in other human populations. Methods: A total of 298 blood samples from 147 type 2 diabetic patients and 151 normal controls were surveyed for SNPs via PCR directed sequencing. Sequencing analyses were performed using the SeqMan module of the DNASTAR program. The identified SNPs were compared to previously reported SNP lists on NCBI and V-mitoSNP. Results: A total of 24 SNPs were identified in the MT-RNR2, MR-TL1 and MT-ND1 mtDNA genes in Korean type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and normal controls. The SNPs identified in the Korean sample were not closely associated with the type 2 diabetes mellitus phenotype, a significantly different result from those previously observed in European, Chinese and Japanese samples. Additionally, a haplotype and prevalence analysis could not detect any differences between the type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and normal controls. Conclusion: The 24 mtDNA SNPs were not associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus risk in our Korean sample. The results of the present study support the possibility that mtDNA SNPs have a differential effect on the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus according to geographical origin.       • 히트파이프를 이용한 바닥복사패널의 난방특성 연구

        Most of the domestic buildings for residential purposes have used the radiant panel heating system, circulating hot water through the X-L pipe in the floor panel of the room. It was recently developed the radiant panel heating system using heat pipes with double wicks. Some experiments were carried out in this study to verify the thermal characteristics of this new heating method at the unit heating space that as heated by hot water from boiler through the coils installed in the floor heating panel, and which surrounded by outer space whose temperature of air be maintained constant. Flow rate, inlet and outlet temperatures of hot water and the heating time were yielded for various operating conditions and these results could be used for optimal design and efficient operation of the heating system as well as improvement of indoor air quality. We also found that the panel heating system with heat pipes was able to reduce the pumping power for hot water circulation by 4~31% compared with the conventional panel heating system using X-L pipe.

        구속상태를 고려한 반타원 표면균열의 파손평가선도

        In recent years, the subject of remaining life assessment has drawn considerable attention in the power generation industry. In power generation systems a variety of structural components, such as steam pipes, turbine rotors, and superheater headers, typically operate at high temperatures and high pressures. Thus a life prediction methodology accounting for fracture and rupture is increasingly needed for these components. For accurate failure assessment, in addition to the single parameter such as K or J-integral used in traditional fracture mechanics, the second parameter like T-stress describing the constraint is needed. The most critical defects in such structures are generally found in the form of semi-elliptical surface cracks in the welded piping-joints. In this work, selecting the structures of surface-cracked plate and straight pipe, we first perform line-spring finite element modeling, and accompanying elastic-plastic finite element analyses. We then present a framework for including constraint effects (T-stress effects) in the R6 failure assessment diagram approach for fracture assessment.

        반도체 소자 국제 표준화 최근 동향 연구

        Nowadays, the importance of role of the international standardization keeps increasing substantially. We have already known that international standards have a huge impact on many companies, industries and nations. So far, it has been thought that standardizations are needed after the new products come into the market and are mass-produced in order to encourage the use of the products, systems and services. Standardization will make the products more safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly for the users. However, in these days, a paradigm of the standardization has been changed. International standard becomes a tool for dominating global market and is the most important ingredients of the competitiveness and economic progress of the nation and enterprises. Many countries like Japan, Germany and U.S. use the standardization as an effective method to dominate the market and monopolized the new technologies. Therefore, worldwide competition for the standardization of the new technology become fierce. Korea is leading the technology in semiconductor field. However, activities of international standardization are not sufficient. In order to boost the standardization activities in Korea from industry, academia, and research institute, this paper briefly introduce the international standard organization and some critical issues for next-generation semiconductor memory such as flexible semiconductor, automobile semiconductor and wearable devices.
