Duodeno-colonic fistula is an enterocolonic fistula that occurs as a complication of Crohn`s disease. Symptoms of duodeno colonic fistula are similar to those of Crohn`s disease, such as weight loss and diarrhea. The treatment of choice is surgery, although medical treatment may also be considered. However, surgery is recommended when all available medical therapies have been ineffective. In this case, we report a secondary duodeno-colonic fistula due to Crohn`s disease that was temporarily managed by an endoscopic procedure with a detached endoloop and hemoclips as a bridging therapy to final surgical repair.

This paper investigated the engineering properties of cement mortar mixed with more than two kinds of fine aggregate. For fresh mortar properties, unit volume weight is constant regardless of mixing content and type of fine aggregate. An increase in contents of natural fine aggregate and crushed fine aggregate resulted in an increase in flow, whereas an increase in recycled fine aggregate contents reduced flow. Gap between maximum flow in N_(3)C_(0)R_(0) and minimum flow in N_(0)C_(0)R_(3) exhibited about 12%. Compressive strength at 28 days ranged from 32 to 36 MPa in order for crushed fine aggregate, natural fine aggregate and crushed fine aggregate showed compressive strength comparable to that of crushed fine aggregate. An increase of fraction of recycled fine aggregate in mixed fine aggregate resulted in a decrease in compressive strength. For drying shrinkage, N_(0)C_(0)R_(3) had the largest drying shrinkage among various mixture type. The combination of large contents of recycled fine aggregate and small contents of natural and crushed fine aggregate had a large amount of drying shrinkage.

Operators of hospital sterilizers who use ethylene oxide(EtO) were studied to determine the exposure of EtO level and the frequency of sister chromatid exchanges(SCEs) from June 12 to July 20, 1997. To evaluate SCEs in the peripheral blood cells, we selected 22 workers at the central supply room of 4 university hospitals and 22 unexposed workers at the same hospitals according to match sex, age, and smoking habit and also did questionnaires. The mean air concentrations(8-hr TWA) of EtO at 4 university hospitals were less than 1 ppm. The SCE frequencies in exposed workers to EtO and controls were normally distributed. The SCE frequencies in exposed workers to EtO and controls were 6.42±0.63, 5.86±0.69, respectively and their differences were statistically significant(p=0.0093). But there were no statistically significant differences in smoking, alcohol intake, coffee drinking. Especially smokers who exposed to EtO were increased SCE statistically significant than the exposed group who did not smoke.

For the study on the changes of S-100 reactivity at the renal tubular epithelium of rats(SpragueDawley, b.w. 250± 20gm. male), the common bile duct ligation was performed under ether anesthesia. At 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day after operation, the S-100 immunoreactivity were compared with control rats. The results were as followings; 1. In the control rat, S-100 positive reactions were observed at the collectiong tubule, Henle's loop, distal tubule(partly) and renal papilla. 2. In common bile duct ligated rats, S-100 positive reactions were observed at the proximal convoluted tubule in the rats 1 day after operation, and at the collecting tubule and proximal convoluted tubule in the 3 days after operation.

For the development of antifungal agents. modification of naftifine which exhibits significant antimycotic activity was performed by replacing the naphthalene ring of it to hetero cyclic rings such as morpholine. benzothiazole. piperidine and pyridine derivatives. The synthesized compounds were tested in vitro antifungal activity against five different fungi with naftifine as a comparative antimycotic molecule. From the biological evaluation two compounds. (E)-N-(3-phenyl-2-propenyl)-N-(4-piperidinylmethyl)amine(3d) and (E)-N-(3-phenyl-2-propenyl)-N-(3-pyndylmethyl)amine(3D) showed relatively noticeable activity(MIC=50㎍/㎖). On the other hand. the other compounds had no activity.

죽의 기능성 향상을 위하여 2:1:1:1의 배합으로 혼합한 한약재료(가시오가피, 숙지황, 산약, 백복령)와 닭가슴살 등의 재료를 사용해 한방 영양죽을 제조하였다. 한방 닭죽의 DPPH radical 소거능, SOD 유사활성, 맛의 선호도, cost는 수학적인 canonical model과 trace plot을 이용하여 분석한 결과, SOD 유사활성 이외에는 각 성분들이 독립적으로 작용하여 상호작용이 없는 선형 모델을 보여주었다. DPPH radical 소거능, SOD 유사활성, 맛의 선호도를 최대로, cost를 최소로 목적 범위를 설정하고, 각각의 canonical 계수를 이용하여 수적 최적화를 통하여 최적 배합비를 구한 결과, 한약 혼합물 101g, 닭가슴살 38.66g, 찹쌀 비율 41.34g의 최적 배합비를 구하였으며, 이 배합비에 따른 맛의 선호도는 6.39, DPPH radical 소거능은 17.25㎎VCE/ℓ, SOD 유사활성은 2.25%, cost는 1,382.39 won으로 나타났으며, 여러 결과들 사이에 최적화된 한 값에 수렴하는 desirability는 0.714로 나타났다. 이는 한약혼합물이 많을수록 기능성 면에서는 높게 나타나지만 맛의 선호도면에서는 낮게 나타냈고, 닭가슴살의 경우에도 그 함량이 많을수록 맛의 선호도는 올라갔지만 그에 반해 cost가 높게 올라간 것을 반영한 결과로 사료된다. The objectives of this study were to develop porridge with medicinal herbs and chicken breast meat and to find out the optimum mixing ratio. Several herb extracts such as Acanthopanacis senticosus, Rehmannia glutinosa, Disocorea japonica, and Poria cocos Wolf were used in the ratio of 2, 1, 1, and 1, respectively. The optimum processing condition for herbal chicken porridge was determined by a design expert program. Seventeen experimental points were selected, and herb extracts (82∼101g), chicken breast meat (30∼50g), and glutinous rice (40∼60g) were chosen as the independent variables. The measured responses were preference of taste, DPPH radical scavenging, SOD-like activity, and cost. The optimum formulation of herbal chicken porridge using the numerical analysis was set at herbal extracts (101g), chicken breast meat (38.66g), and glutinous rice (41.34g) with a 0.714 desirability value. DPPH radical scavenging effect, preference of taste and the cost showed a linear model, whereas SOD-like activity showed a quadratic model indicating a higher interaction among the mixture. As a result of proximate composition of optimized herbal chicken porridge, the contents of moisture, carbohydrate, crude protein, crude lipid, and ash contents were 76.4, 9.0, 1.4, 0.5, and 1.6%, the calories of the porridge was 46.1kcal/100g.

소수력발전은 하수처리장 에너지 자립을 위한 효과적인 대안이다. 본 연구는 유량변동이 크고 유효낙차가 낮은 중소형하수처리장(기흥레스피아) 적용을 위해 피치조절형 세미카플란(semi-kaplan) 마이크로수력발전의 적용 타당성을 평가하였다. 가변피치 semi-kaplan 수차는 유량조절을 위한 가이드베인은 생략하고 피치조절형 런너를 장착하여 기계적 결함은 줄이면서 유량변동이 큰 처리장에 특화된 기술이다. 마이크로수력발전 시스템은 설계조건(유량 0.35 m3/s, 유효낙차 4.7 m)에서 90.2%의 수차효율 달성이 가능하였고 발전용량은 13.4 kW로 산정되었다. 설비가동률 74%로 가동 시 연간 약 86.8 MWh 에너지 생산을 통해 2.1%의 에너지 자립이 가능하고 이는 연간 49톤의 CO₂ 감축효과와 맞먹는다. 경제성 평가결과 초기 건설공사비가 200,000,000원 이하인 경우에는 내부수익률은 6.1%, 순현가는 15,539,000원, 편익-비용률은 1.08, 투자회수년은 15.5년으로 경제성이 충분한 것으로 나타났다. Small scale hydropower is one of most attractive and cost-effective energy technologies for installation within sewage treatment plants. This study was conducted to evaluate the potential of a semi-kaplan micro-hydropower (MHP) system for application to sewage treatment plants with high flow fluctuations and a low head. The semi-kaplan MHP is equipped with an adjustable runner blade, and is without a guide vane, so as to reduce the incidence of mechanical problems. A MHP rating 13.4 kWp with a semi-kaplan turbine has been considered for Kiheung Respia sewage treatment plant, and this installation is estimated to generate 86.8 MWh of electricity annually, which is enough to supply electricity to over 25 households, and equivalent to an annual reduction of 49 ton CO₂. The semi-kaplan turbine showed a 90.2% energy conversion efficiency at the design flow rate of 0.35 m3/s and net head of 4.7 m, and was adaptable to a wide range of flow fluctuations. Through the MHP operation, approximately 2.1% of total electricity demand of Kiheung Respia sewage treatment plant will be achievable. Based on financial analysis, an exploiting MHP is considered economically acceptable with an internal rate of return of 6.1%, net present value of 15,539,000 Korean Won, benefit- cost ratio of 1.08, and payback year of 15.5, respectively, if initial investment cost is 200,000,000 Korean Won.

원자력발전소에서 발생하는 이온교환수지와 가연성잡고체 혼합폐기물을 유리화하기 위하여 유도 가열식 저온용융로를 이용한 실증시험을 수행하였다. 금속 티타늄 고리(Ti-ring)를 이용한 유리의 초기점화에 필요한 에너지는 약 290 kWh로 평가되었다. 혼합폐기물의 투입 중 고주파발생기의 출력은 160∼190 kW로 임피던스는 0.55∼0.65 범위 내에서 안정적으로 유지되었다. 이온교환수지 단독투입 시 보다 가연성잡고체와 혼합 할 경우 CO 발생농도는 1/40 정도로 낮아졌는데, 이는 1.8배 정도 높은 연소에너지를 갖는 가연성잡고체가 혼합폐기물의 완전연소를 유도한 것으로 평가되었다. 혼합폐기물의 공급량에 적당한 최적 산소 버블링에 의해 유리 용탕 내부로의 미연폐기물의 함침은 발생하지 않았으며 유리 용탕은 지속적으로 공정 건전성을 유지하였다. 유리 용탕의 부피가 증가하는 팽창(swelling) 현상 때와 정상 일 때 발생가스를 측정, 비교한 결과 swelling 현상 때는 NO와 같이 환원성 가스의 농도 보다 산화성 기체인 의 농도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 실증시험에 사용된 이온교환 수지와 가연성잡고체의 각각 투입량은 368kg과 751kg 이었으며, 74 정도의 감용비를 달성하였다. In order to simultaneously vitrify the ion exchange resin(IER) and combustible dry active waste(DAW) generated from Korean nuclear power plants, a vitrification pilot test was conducted using an induction cold crucible melter(CCM) . The energy necessary for startup of the glass using a Ti-ring was evaluated as about 290 kWh. The power supplied from a high frequency generator to melt the glass properly was ranged from 160 to 190 kW without any interruption. When the mixture of the IER and DAW was fed into the CCM, the concentration of CO was lowered up to 1/40 compared to feeding the IER solely. It may be caused by the DAW which can produce about 1.8 times higher heat compared to the IER. When the swelling phenomenon occurred in the glass melt, the concentration of , oxidizing gas, was higher than NO, reducing gas. Total feed amounts of the IER and DAW were 368 and 751 kg, respectively. And then, about 74 of volume reduction factor was achieved.

<P><I>PIK3CA</I> is a frequently mutated gene in cancer, including about ~15 to 20% of colorectal cancers (CRC). <I>PIK3CA</I> mutations lead to activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, which plays pivotal roles in tumorigenesis. Here, we investigated the mechanism of resistance of <I>PIK3CA</I>‐mutant CRC cell lines to gedatolisib, a dual PI3K/mTOR inhibitor. Out of a panel of 29 CRC cell lines, we identified 7 harboring one or more <I>PIK3CA</I> mutations; of these, 5 and 2 were found to be sensitive and resistant to gedatolisib, respectively. Both of the gedatolisib‐resistant cell lines expressed high levels of active glycogen synthase kinase 3‐beta (GSK3β) and harbored the same frameshift mutation (c.465_466insC; H155fs*) in <I>TCF7</I>, which encodes a positive transcriptional regulator of the WNT/β‐catenin signaling pathway. Inhibition of GSK3β activity in gedatolisib‐resistant cells by siRNA‐mediated knockdown or treatment with a GSK3β‐specific inhibitor effectively reduced the activity of molecules downstream of mTOR and also decreased signaling through the WNT/β‐catenin pathway. Notably, GSK3β inhibition rendered the resistant cell lines sensitive to gedatolisib cytotoxicity, both <I>in vitro</I> and in a mouse xenograft model. Taken together, these data demonstrate that aberrant regulation of WNT/β‐catenin signaling and active GSK3β induced by the <I>TCF7</I> frameshift mutation cause resistance to the dual PI3K/mTOR inhibitor gedatolisib. Cotreatment with GSK3β inhibitors may be a strategy to overcome the resistance of <I>PIK3CA</I>‐ and <I>TCF7</I>‐mutant CRC to PI3K/mTOR‐targeted therapies.</P>
