      • 관상동맥내 스텐트 삽입후 발생한 관상동맥류 2례

        Coronary artery aneurysms are detected with increasing frequency because of the routine use of coronary angiography in the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease. Although some coronary artery aneurysms are congenital or inflammatory, most are atherosclerotic. The prognosis of atherosclerotic coronary artery aneurysm may depend on the morphology of the aneurysm or the presence of coexisting obstructive disease. Coronary artery aneurysms have been also reported to occur after ballon angioplasty, directional athrectomy, laser angioplasty, and stent implantation with a frequency of 2% to 4%. The long-term outcome of post-intervention coronary artery aneurysm is unknown. We report two cases of the development of a coronary aneurysm 6 months after stent implantation as a treatment of severe obsructive coronary artery disease.

        양식넙치, Paralichthys olivaceus 치어의 스쿠티카충 감염경로

        넙치양식시 피해가 많은 스쿠티카충의 치어기 감염경로를 규명하기 위하여 2001년도에 제주도지역 넙치양식장과 종묘배양장을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 종묘생산 과정에서의 감염경로 조사를 위해 먹이생물인 클로렐라, 알테미아, 로티퍼 배양수조를 조사한 결과 로티퍼 배양수조에서 밑바닥 찌꺼기와 로티퍼 사체 및 생체에서 스쿠티카충 감염이 확인되었다. 스쿠티카충이 감염된 로티퍼를 주어에 투여한 후 자어 사육수조 바닥에는 스쿠티카충이 다량 번식하였다. 넙치 치어에 최초 감염은 부화자어가 착저 완료후 10일경 (부화후 40일경)에 사육수조 바닥에 서식하고 있던 스쿠티카충이 치어에 감염되었다. 스쿠티카충에 감염된 넙치 치어를 조직학적 방법으로 조사하여 감염경로를 확인한 결과, 안구나 뇌에 감염되는 경로는 주둥치 부분이나 등지느러미 앞부분의 표피에 감염된 후 상피조직과 근조직과 신경조직에 따라 뇌로 이행되었다. 그리고 내부장기에 감염되는 경로는 배지느러미나 뒷지느러미 연조막에 침투하여 상피조직과 근조직를 따라 항문과 직장으로 이행되었으며 비뇨생식공을 통해서 요도와 방광, 직장상피세포, 복강, 췌장, 신장외막, 신장 등으로 침투하였다. 스쿠티카충이 감염되지 않은 로티퍼를 이용하는 종묘배양장에서는 먹이생물 배양수조, 자어사육수조, 자어 및 치어 (전장 7㎝ 전후)에서 스쿠티카충이 감염되지 않았다. The infection characteristics with scuticociliates at on-land rearing farms and hatcheries of flounder, Paralithys olivaceus was investigated during they year of 2001 by juvenile infection routes. When culture tanks for living food organisms such as chlorella, rotifer, and Artemia were searched, scuticocilates were detected both in live and dead rotifer, and at the dregs of culture tank bottoms at almost hatcheries. When rotifer infected with scuticocilates fed on fish larvae, lots of scuticocilate were inhabited at the bottom of fry rearing tanks. After feeding on scuticocilates-infected rotifer on fish larvae, first infection was detected at 10 days after bottom dwelling or 40 days old after hatching. By histopathological examination we confirmed the infection route of eyeball of brain contamination was that the ciliate worms digged through mouth and front part of the dosal fin cuticle, transferred into eyeball along the epithelium and muscle tissue, and reached finally into brain by the muscle and nerve tissue. The infection of internal organs was clarified into two routes. The first route was started form the infection at ventral and anal fin rays by the worms, and reached at the anus and rectum through the epithelium and muscle tissue. The second route was initiated from the infection at urinary organ and reached into the rectum epithelium cells, inner wall of intestine, abdominal cavity, pancreas, kidney, and pancreas. At seed production farms where fish larvae fed on scuticocilate-free rotifer, the worms were not detected not only at the food organisms culture tanks and juvenile rearing tanks but also larval flounder less than 7㎝ in total length.

        연속식 오존처리공정을 이용한 낙동강 상수원수의 정수처리 효과

        낙동강 상수원수를 대상으로 연속적 오존처리에서 오존주업농도에 따른 유기물 분해 특성을 조사하기 위하여 오존처리에 의한 DOC성분변화, UV254/DOC의 변화와 소비오존에 따른 DOC 제거효율을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 유입원수의 수질변화에 따라 다소 차이는 있었으나 전반적으로 오존주입농도가 증가할수록 DOC 처리효율도 증가되었다. 오존처리에 따른 DOC 성분변화는 전오존을 3 mg/L농도로 처리시 TDOC, ADOC, A&BDOC 및 NRDOC는 각각0.6, 0.2, 0.1 및 1.0 mg/L 정도 오존처리에 의하여 감소되었으나 BDOC는 0.8 mg/L 증가하였다. UV254/DOC의 분율은 오존주입농도를 1, 3 및 5 mg/L 처리하였을 때 전오존의 경우는 각각 0.048, 0.044 및 0.037 이였고, 후오존의 경우는 각각 0.018, 0.015 및 0.012로 나타나 오존주입농도가 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 초기 DOC mg당 소비되는 오존량에 대한 DOC 제거율은 전오존과 후오존처리의 초기 DOC에 대한 소비오존량이 각각 약 1.5와 2.3일 때 각자 25%와 32%로서 최대의 DOC 처리효율을 나타내었다. 낙동강 상수원수에 전오존을 처리할 경우 오존주입량은 초기 DOC mg당 소비된 오존이 1.5 mg 이내의 농도가 되도록 주입하고, 후오존은 유입수인 모래여과수의 초기 DOC mg당 소비된 오존이 2.3 mg이내의 농도가 되도록 조절하여 주입하면 적당할 것으로 생각되었다. This study was carried out to evaluate the pollutant removal efficiencies of the advanced drinking water treatment using ozonation process. For raw water. Nakdong River was used. By conducting continuous ozonation experiments, the following results were obtained. Efficiency of water treatment was enhanced with increase in ozone dosage. When ozone dosage of 3 mg/L was used, preozonation of raw water reduced TDOC, ADOC, A&BDOC and NRDOC as much as 0.6 mg/L, 0.2 mg/L, 0.1 mg/L and 1.0 mg/L, respectively. On the other hand, content of BDOC Increased at the level of 0.8 mg/L. Ratio of UV254 absorbance to DOC content by the preozonation with 1, 3 and 5 mg/L dosage were 0.048, 0.044 and 0.037, respectively. In case of postozonation, it were 0.018, 0.015 and 0.012, respectively. When the ratios of consumpted ozone content to 1 mg of initial DOC were 1.5 and 2.3 in preozonation and postozonation treatment, respectively, the highest DOC removal rates of 25% and 32% were obtained by the continuous ozonation.

        제주도 양식넙치, Paralichthys olivaceus의 스쿠티카충병 발생 동향

        The research was carried out to know the occurrence trend of scuticociliatosis and mortality of fingerlings in flounder. The diseased fish were collected from on-land rearing farms and hatcheries of flounder in Jeju Island form January 1991 to December 2001. Occurrence of scuticociliatosis was about 10% of total occurred diseases for 1991 to 1996, but increased to 34.5% in 2001. Although monthly occurrence of seuticociliatosis was not related to season from 1999 to 2001, the highest occurrence was revealed in July and August. Mixed infections of bacteria including Vibrio sp., Edwardsiella tarda, Streptococcus sp., and Flexibacter sp., with seuticociliates were observed. Among the bacteria, Vibrio sp., was the highest frequency(40.1%), and the lowest one(10.1%) was Streptococcus sp., Mortality of fingerlings by seuticociliates was different sharply according to size of fish. Mortality of infected fingerlings below 7㎝ of total length was 53.8%, while that of normal fingerling above 7㎝ of total length was 13.2%. When fish were grown above 25㎝, mass mortality by seuticociliates infection was decreased markedly.

        The Clinical Features of Macular Pucker Formation after Pars Plana Vitrectomy for Primary Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment Repair

        Purpose: To investigate the incidence and predisposing factors of macular pucker formation after pars plana vitrectomy in patients who developed primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed a consecutive series of 284 eyes in 284 patients who underwent primary retinal detachment repair by pars plana vitrectomy alone between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. Patients with a history of retinal surgery or another visually significant ocular problem were excluded. Results: Postoperatively, of the 264 eyes that completed at least six months of follow-up, 16 (6.1%) eyes developed obvious macular pucker at clinical examination. Of these 16 eyes, ten (70.0%) underwent repeat vitrectomy with membrane peeling for macular pucker removal during the follow-up period. The mean time from primary vitrectomy for the retinal reattachment to the secondary vitrectomy with membrane peeling for macular pucker was 7.9 months. The mean improvement in vision after membrane peeling surgery was 0.37 (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution). Using an independent t-test, chi-square test, and Mann-Whitney U-test, we found that the number or size of retinal break and vitreous hemorrhage could be significant risk factors of macular pucker. Conclusions: In our study, 6.1% of eyes which underwent pars plana vitrectomy alone for primary retinal detachment developed a postoperative macular epiretinal membrane. Multiple or large retinal breaks and postoperative vitreous hemorrhage were related to macular pucker formation. Overall, the 70.0% of eyes which underwent secondary vitrectomy with membrane peeling for removal of macular pucker showed a favorable visual outcome.

        Evaluation of the Probiotic Potential of Microorganisms Isolated from the Intestinal Tract of Cultured Epinephelus akaara

        This study focused on isolating and identifying strains from the gut of Epinephelus akaara cultivated in aquaculture facilities on Jeju Island. The aim was to evaluate the potential of utilizing these strains as probiotics for industrial applications. A total of 129 strains were isolated from the gut of E. akaara and screened based on their ability to create a clear zone of 10 mm or more in a preliminary antimicrobial activity test. Twelve strains were selected for further analysis, including bile resistance, acid tolerance at different pH levels, antioxidant activity, antibiotic susceptibility, and biochemical characteristics using the API kit. Through these characteristic experiments, eight strains (G1, G3, G15, G21, B1, B2, B3, B5) were identified as having potential as probiotics. Among these, the B group strains (B1, B2, B3, B5) exhibited significantly higher activity compared to the G group strains (G1, G3, G15, G21). Based on the phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences of the selected microorganisms, the strains were named as follows: B1 strain as Lactobacillus paracasei B1, B2 strain as Lactococcus lactis B2, B3 strain as Lactobacillus plantarum B3, B5 strain as Lactococcus lactis subsp. hordniae B5, G1 strain as Bacillus licheniformis G1, G3 strain as Bacillus velezensis G3, G15 strain as Brevibacterium frigoritolerans G15, and G21 strain as Bacillus pumilus G21.
