        In this study, authors measured the each organ weight of the long term water deprived Mongolian gerbil, after then we calculated the mean, standard deviation, variance coefficient of the real measured organ weight and induced the organ weight change quantity, rate of quantity, deviation between measured and theological organ weight, deviation rate, sum of deviation rate, organ weight change rate, rate of organ weight by the mathematical formula. The results obtained as follow 1. The weight of the brains, lung, and testis were abruptly decreased after water deprived until the 5th day, after then slowly decreased until the 20th day. 2. The weight of the heart was decreased gradually from the first day until the 20th day. 3. The weight of the liver was abruptly decreased until the 10th day, after then the more slowly decreased until the 20th day. 4. The weight of the thymus, spleen, kidney, and pancreas were abruptly decreased until the 15th day, after then increased slowly until 20th day but the weight of the kidney was abruptly increased from the 10th day. 5. The organ weight change rate and the rate of the each day organ weight were very diversified.

        Multiple primary cancer means that more that two cancers occur independently in an individual. Recently, the incidence of multiple primary cancer has increased with lengthened survival, of cancer patients, development of new diagnostic technique and increased clinical evaluation. We report a patient who had adenocarcinoma of stomach combined with squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus simultaneously.

      • 남녀 중학생의 식생활 행동과 건강상태에 관한 연구 : 공주, 청양지역을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the dietary behavior-such as the knowledge of nutritive, dietary habit and food preference, etc. - and the state of health of the boys' and girls' middle school students. The study was analyzed by simple fregency, percentage. t-test, x2-test, dispersion analysis and person·s correlation in using the SPSS PC+ Package System by means of questionnare to 446 boys' and girls' middle school students in Chung Yang Kun and Kong Ju City in Chung Cheong Nam Do in Korea The results as follows : 1.The Knowledge of nuurition : most of the students think that they know a little about nutrtion. They have obtained the knowledge of nutrition from mass media or mother but they have not used them in their actural life. The scale of the nutritive knowledge of the students was relatively low(mean=7.14) and girl's was higher than boys' 2.They get three meal times a day. The most regular diet in a day was lunch and the irregular was dinner. The girls took diet irregularly than boys because of having no time to eat in the morning and want to take dinner with family. They think their problem is unbalanced diet(23.1%). They were apt to select delicious snacks(61.3%). The boys consider nutrition(20.2%) for snacks and girls consider taste(68.6%) 3.Their favorite foods material were chicken(85.7%), eggs(81.6%), youghurt(91.8%), cuttle-fish(93.3%), orange(96.9%), potato(87.4%), and dried laver(93.3%). They don't like eggs of guailo(41.0%), cheese(67.2%), oyster(63.5%), persimmon(24.2%) eggplant (55.6%), and green laver(25.3%). 4.Their favorite foods were Mandu(45.3%), beer soup(25.8%), Kimchi stew(47.8%), Chinese cabbage Kimchi(44.6%), Bulkoki(36.0%), Kokijorim(35.7%), Kalbijim(65.5%), Kokijorim(59.3%), Sauted rice(37.4%), soy-bean sprouts(44.4%), and Sauted cuttledfish(53.9%). 5.The average height was 161.6cm, the average weight was 52.0kg and girls and boys were in good health. There was no difference between boys and girls in the state of physical health, but boys were phychologically healthy. The students, who thke three meal a day didn't take an unbalanced diet. and who didn't take snacks were betteer in physical or mental aspects than students who take them irregularly. 6.There were correlation between the degree of perception and the score nutritive knowledge but the boys who think that they have lots of nutritive knowledge were actually low in nutritive knowledge score.

      • 枸杞 Lycium chinense Miller의 果實이 實驗的 糖尿에 미치는 影響

        The influence of fruit of Lycium chinense Miller on the blood sugar levels and serum transaminase (SGP-T, SGO-T) activities from alloxan-diabetic rabbits were observed. The Lycii Fructus were extracted with methanol, and the extracted sample was orally administrated to normal and alloxan diabetic rabbits. As for the blood sugar levels and serum transaminase activities of normal rabbits no significant variation were detected by administration of the extracted sample. The blood sugar levels and serum transaminase activity of normal rabbits were significantly increased by administration of the alloxan. The increased blood sugar levels of 'the alloxan-diabetic rabbits were gradually decreased by administration of the extracted samples, and were returned to the control levels after 12 day. The increased transaminase activities in serum of the alloxan-diabetic rabbits were significantly decreased after 96 hours. According to the above results, it would be concluded that the extract of Lycii Fructus influences for the recovery of the increased amount of blood sugar levels and serum transaminase activities by alloxan.

      • 영광원자력발전소 주변의 식생과 식물현존량 추정

        영광원자력발전소 주변의 식생에 대한 식물사회학적 조사를 실시하였으며, 순 1차 생산량과 식물현존량을 추정하였다. 또한 상관에 의해 현존식생도 및 녹지자연도를 작성하였다(1:50,000). Z-M 방식에 의한 삼림식생은 소나무군락과 곰솔군락으로 구분되었다. 전체적으로 교목층에 소나무와 곰솔, 아교목층에 졸참나무와 곰솔, 관목층에 털진달래와 신갈나무, 초본층에 털대사초와 그늘사초 등의 피복지수가 우세하게 나타났다. 토양의 pH는 4.65∼4.67, 유기물 함량은 7.28∼7.53%의 범위였다. 현존식생도에 의한 분포비율은 경작지(67%), 소나무(21.9%) 및 곰솔군락(9.1%)의 순으로 나타났으며, 녹지자연도는 등급 2가 67%(경작지), 7등급(이차림(A))과 6등급(조림지)이 각각 29.2%와 1.8%로 나타났다. Montreal model에의한 소나무림과 곰솔림의 식물현존량은 657,817.2와 177,367.0ton으로 각각 산정되었다. The forest vegetation and estimation of phytomass and net primary production in the vicinity of Yonggwang Atomic Power Plant were analyzed on the basis of the phytosociological data. Depending on physiognomy, the actual vegetation map and the degree of green naturality(DGN) were also drawn in the scale of 1:50,000. According to Z-M method, the forest vegetation was classified into two communities; Pinus densiflora and Pinus thunbergii communities. It was generally shown that Pinus densiflora and Pirus thunbergii in tree-1 layer, Quercus serrata and Pinus thunbergii in tree-2 layer, Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum and Quercus serrata in shrub layer, and Carex ciliato-marginata and Carex lanceolata in herb layer had high coverage index. The pHs and contents of organic matter of the forest soils collected in each sites were in the 4.64 to 4.67 and 7.28% to 7.53% in average, respectively. The distribution area of each vegetationindex. The distribution area of each vegetation type in the actual vegetation map was 67% cultivated land, 21.9% in Pinus densiflora community and 9.1% in pinus thunbergii community. The distribution of the degree of green naturality(DGN) was 67% in the second-grade (cultivated land), 29.2% in 7th grade (second forest(A)) and 1.8% in 6th grade (plantation). It was estimated that phytomass of Pinus densiflora and Pinus thunbergii in the study sites, which was calculated by Montreal model, was 657,817.2 and 177,367.0 ton, respectively.

        Many studies revealed the neuroprotective, cardioprotective, and chemopreventive actions of dietary flavonoids. The plausible mechanistic interpretation of the various effects of flavonoids was concentrated on the anti-oxidant or free radical-scavenging properties of these phytochernicals, both in model systems and under in vivo conditions. While there has been a major focus on the anti-oxidant properties. there is an emerging view that flavonoids and their in vivo metabolites. do not act as conventional hydrogen-donating anti-oxidants. but they may exert regulatory functions in cells through actions at protein kinase or lipid kinase signaling pathways. Flavonoids and more recently their metabolites. have been reported to act at phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI 3-kinase). Akt/protein kinase B(Akt/PKB), protein kinase C (PKC), mitogen activated protein kinase(MAP kinase), and various tyrosine kinases signaling cascades. Inhibitory or stimulatory actions at these pathways are likely to affect cellular function profoundly by altering the phosphorylation state of target molecules and by modulating gene expression. A clear understanding of the mechanisms of action of flavonoids, either as anti-oxidants or modulators of cellular signaling pathways, and the influence of their metabolism on these properties are key to the evaluation of these potent biomolecules as anti-cancer agents, cardio-protectants, and inhibitors of neurodegeneration.

        원형느타리백색변이체에 존재하는 바이러스의 특성

        색소변이체에서 버섯 바이러스의 게놈인 dsRNA가 확인되었으며, 크기는 각각 5.8kb, 1.8kb 이었다. 느타리바이러스 진단용 프라이머인 PVP로 RT-PCR을 수행한 결과 500bp 크기의 특이밴드가 관찰되었다. 또한 양송이 바이러스 진단용 프라이머 LIVP와 MBVP에서도 특이밴드가 관찰되었으나 양송이 바이러스와는 다른 양상이었다. 원형느타리의 백색변이체 (MGL2205)에 존재하는 바이러스유사입자는 구형이었으며, 크기는 14, 20∼45nm이었다. 균사체의 세포단면을 관찰한 결과 바이러스 순화액에서 확인된 바이러스유사입자와 비슷한 구형의 입자들이 관찰되었으며, 순화된 바이러스와 동일한 입자인지는 추후 확인되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. 원형느타리 백색변이체(MGL2205)에 존재하는 바이러스의 최적 증식 조건은 15℃, pH 6, 배양기간 3주인 것으로 판단되며, 이 결과는 이와 유사한 재배적 조건에서 재확인되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. This study was carried out to characterize virus-like particles (VLPs) in Pleurotus ostreatus. The white and the dark gray mutants frequently observed in mushroom farms of Pleurotus ostreatus (Wonhyeong-neutari). A 5.8kb segments of dsRNA was detected only in the white mutants but not in the dark gray mutants. The VLPs were purified from the fruit bodies by Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) and ultracentrifugation. Electron microscopy analysis showed that VLPs were isometric about 14, 20∼45nm in diameter. Further study is needed to reveal the morphological and yield variations of mushroom strains including VLPs observed in the mushroom farms. Also it is needed to maintain fundamental research for taxonomy, diagnosis, and physiology of VLPs in the mushroom strains.

      • 생합성 플라스틱 Poly-β-Hydroxybutyrate의 생분해와 토양온도의 관계

        생분해성 플라스틱인 poly-β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB)의 미생물에 의한 분해에 대하여 2, 10, 20, 30 및 40℃의 항온이 유지되는 토양에서 49일간 배양하면서 조사하였다. 무게 감소로 측정한 poly-β-hydroxybutyrate의 분해속도는 배양 온도가 높을 수록 증가하였다. 배양온도 40℃에서 poly-β-hydroxybutyrate는 하루당 3.5%의 무게감소 속도로 빠르게 분해되었다. 한편 토양에서 poly-β-hydroxybutyrate의 분해는 토양의 pH, 전기전도도와 같은 화학적 특성에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다. 그러나 탈수소효소 활성도로 나타낸 토양미생물의 활성도는poly-β-hydroxybutyrate의 분해에 따라서 증가하였다. The microbial degradation of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB) films was studied in soil microcosms incubated at a constant temperature of 2, 10, 20, 30 and 40℃ for up to 49 days. The degradation rate measured through loss of weight was enhanced by incubation at a higher temperature. At the soil temperature 40℃, poly-β-hydroxybutyrate was rapidly degraded at a decay rate of 3.5% weight loss per day. The degradation of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate did not affected significantly the chemical properties of soils such as pH and electric conductivity. However, microbial activity of soil in terms of dehydrogenase activity was increased by the degradation of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate.

        20세기 후반 여성 스포츠웨어의 성(性)적 이미지에 관한 연구

        As sports infiltrates each field of modern society and becomes familiar, sports wear was changed functionally and was introduced and enveloped into everyday dress. Modern sports wear has been the settled in everyday life deeply and become the clothes of life which are worn regardless of place, time and age. The aim of this paper was to clarify what kind of fashion of sports style would be given to the modern people. In this study, sports wear which has become everyday dress was classified from a gender point of view. It was divided into masculine image, feminine image, and neutral image. Sports wear of masculine image generated a silhouette which emphasized the shoulder with the aspiration for youth and health. Wide shoulder was considered as the symbol of masculine beauty and the expression of healthy beauty. It was reflected well in body conscious look. And owing to the development of up-to-date materials, innovation of design, and the study of human body technology, the functional character was settled in the sports wear which showed masculine image. Sports wear of feminine image was represented fashion of body exposure, body feet with body conscious look, and romantic mode. This image was expressed fashion as comforts, pleasant, active design, materials, color, and romantic feminine beauty. Sports wear of neutral image was expressed into unisex clothes. This cloths have no difference in gender, age, and class. It was used as casual sports wear. In the 1960s, young generation participated in such street sports as street basketball and skate. They usually wore the sports wears of neutral image such as cycling, skating, and ski. In the materials of sports, the development of up-to-date material like lycra made the sayings lifelike, "up-to-date material is the second skin" It show that glamorous feminine image and strong masculine image coexisted. The contemporary concept of sportswear is no longer limited to those clothes for sports found in such places like tennis court or swimming pool. Now, the sports wear become more like casual activity wear all classes of people can enjoy in their life regardless of where they are, when they wear, and even how old they are.
