        산업폐수 슬럿지를 이용한 경량골재 개발에 관한 연구

        Among the disposal techniques of inorganic wastewater sludges from industries, most of sludges were dealed with buring underground inefficiently. But we have tried to recycle the resources that exhausted inorganic sludges were properly blended to certain ratioes to make lightweight aggregate, that means manufacturing of it can be possible through blending of various components, drying, sintering, cooling and crushing to certain sizes that are needed by consumers. As disposal method of inorganic wastewater sludge is changed to environmentally fraternative method, this method could be very useful to make lightweight aggregates for decoration of building and the other so many purposes of those usages. That could be economically useful due to expected income for buring costs of ordinary disposal method from industries and sales income after manufacturing it. The second important profit is saving foreign currency from purchasing self-developed lightweight aggregate instead of importing expensive foreign product. This product will be also very impressive to user because of the fraternative lightweight to be composed of apatite structure that is important part of human body.

        병원간호직 근무자의 근속성향 결정요인

        This study purports to investigate the determinants of propensity to stay among nursing staff working at Korean hospitals. The independent variables contains three groups of determinants : environmental variables(job opportunity, spouse support, and parent support), psychological variables(met expectations, work involvement, positive affectivity, and negative affectivity), and structural variables(job autonomy, work unit control, routinization, supervisor support, coworker support, role ambiguity, role conflict, workload, resource inadequacy, distributive justice, promotional chances, job security, job hazards, and pay). The sample used in this study consisted of 329 nurses and 175 nurse aides from two university hospitals in Seoul and its surburbs. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis. The results of this study indicate that : (1) the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant positive effects on propensity to stay among hospital nursing staff : job satisfaction, met expectations, supervisor support, job security, and positive affectivity, (2) the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant negative total effects on propensity to stay among hospital nursing staff : job opportunity, negative affectivity, and rutinization, (3) the model explains 44.2 percent of the variance in propensity to stay among nursing staff working at two university hospitals, and (4) managerial support for improving the job autonomy, distributive justice, and promotional opportunity for nurse aides are needed.

      • 양어용 사료첨가제로서 감귤발효액 (EM-Fermented Orange)의 항산화특성

        Mandarine orange (Citrus unshiu Marc.) only added with sugar was fermented by effective microorganisms (EM). called "EM-fermented orange". EM was mainly composed of lactic acid bacteria. phototrophic bacteria and yeast. As pH of EM-fermented orange reached 3.5 to 4.0 in the course of fermentation. the incubation was stopped. and then. EM-fermented orange was preservable at room temperature for about 6 months. Composition and concentration of free amino acids in EM-fermented orange were analyzed. Concentration of total amino acids was 167 mg/l. and the relative content of carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine) which was well known as a kind of antioxidant materials was very high. 41%. In addition. crude extract showing antioxidant activity could be obtained from EM-fermented orange using some organic solvents. The antioxidant activity of the crude extract was equivalent to about 9% of that of vitamin E by the use of 1.1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. It was suggested that EM-fermented orange having antioxidant characteristics could promote the health of fish.

        This paper proposes a measurement method for the surface of micro-parts by using AFM(Atomic Force Microscope). To this end, two techniques are presented to extend the capacity of AFM. First, the measurement range is extended by using an image matching method based on correlation coefficients. To account for the inaccuracy of the coarse stage implemented in AFM's, the image matching technique is applied to two neighboring images intentionally overlapped with each other. Second, a method to measure the shape of relatively large specimen is presented by using the inherent trigger mechanism due to the atomic force. The proposed method is proved effective through a series of experiments.

        유기용제 노출에 따른 신발제조업체 근무 여성근로자들에서의 후천적 색각이상

        목적 : 복합유기용제에 노출되는 신발제조업체 근무 여성근로자들에서 유기용제 누적노출량과 후천성 색각이상 발현빈도간의 상관성을 조사하기 위해 본 연구를 실시하였다. 방법 : 신발제조업체 근무 여성근로자들 가운데 유기용제에 노출되는 85명과 유기용제에 노출되지 않는 근로자 88명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 조도가 표준화된 방에서 시력검사와 색각이상 검사를 실시하였다. 작업 부서를 접착, 사상 및 선처리 부서로 나누었고 작업 부서별로 현재노출량과 누적노출량을 구하였다. 결과 : 색각이상의 유병률은 노출군이 대조군보다 통계학적으로 유의하게 높았으며 (P=0.017). 유기용제 노출군 85명 가운데 후천적 색각이상인 청황색 색각이상자가 5명(5.9 %)이었다. 안증상도 노출군이 대조군보다 발생빈도가 높았으며 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(P=0.001). 색 혼란지수에 영향을 줄 수 있는 변수들인 연령, 교육기간, 누적노출량 등은 유의한 변수로 나타나지 않았다. 결론 : 유기용제 노출군에서 색각이상의 유병률이 대조군보다 유의하게 높았으며, 특히 유기용제 노출군에서 후천적 색각이상인 청황색 색각이상도 발견되었다. 그러나 유기용제 누적노출량과 색 혼란지수와 유의한 연관성은 발견할 수 없었는데 이는 유기용제의 노출량이 너무 낮았으며, 근로자의 이직률 또한 놓아 누적노출량 계산을 위한 추적기간이 제한되었기 때문인 것으로 생각되며 앞으로 고농도 노출 근로자를 대상으로 연구를 하면 분명한 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Objectives : This study was undertaken to investigate the relationship between color vision defects and occupational exposure to mixed organic solvents in women workers who were engaged in the shoe manufacturing industry. Methods : A total of 173 women workers were involved in this study, 85 of whom were exposed to mixed organic solvents and were defined as the exposed group, and 88 workers comprised the non-exposed control group. The patients were questioned as to their drinking history, the year in which they were exposed and whether they had eye symptoms of blureed vision, eye fatigue, and eye irritation. The exposed workers in the shoe manufacturing factory were engaged in 3 work areas which were pasting, trimming, and cleaning. Their Color vision was assessed using the Hahn's double 15 hue test under standard illumination and their current and cumulative exposure levels were measured. Results : The prevalence of color vision defect was 21.2% in the exposed group and 8.0% in the control group, and the blue-yellow defect was found to be 5.9% in the exposed group. The logistic regression for the acquired dyschromatopsia and color confusion index showed that there were no variables that had significant relationships. Eye symptoms were more frequently developed in the exposed group. Conclusions : There is a possibility of developing color vision defects when workers are exposed to mixed organic solvents. However, the results of the color confusion index showed that there was no significant relationship to the coumulative exposure level, because of the low exposure level and high occupational turn over rate of the workers. Because the workers in the present study were exposed to low level solvents it will be necessary to study workers exposed to higher levels of organic solvents.

      • Multiple occurrence of recurrent nodular fasciitis after surgical extirpation: masquarding as in-transit metastasis of sarcomatous presentation

        Nodular fasciitis (NF) is a rare benign fibrous tumor related with a proliferative reactive process arising mostly from the muscular fascia or deep subcutaneous region. It distinctively appeared as solitary nodule in young-aged patient with rapid growth, which gives its other name as pseudosarcomatous fibromatosis. A 16-year old boy visited our clinic for the palpable mass on the left shoulder. The initial lesion had already been partially removed by the skin biopsy at local clinic. The biopsy specimen showed only fragments of fibrous mass consisting of collagenous stroma with spindle-shaped cells, but no atypia or mitotic figure. Surgical excision was performed, of which the surgical specimen showed invasion of spindle shaped cells involving subcutaneous layer interlacing with conspicious collagenous fiborus stroma without malignant features. After 3 months, two nodules reappeared near the operation sites and the following biopsy results showed the same as before. We decided to observe the remaining lesions and there had been no significant changes for 5 months. Multiple lesional occurrence is as quite uncommon feature of NF as the recurrence after surgical treatment. Herein, we report a rare case of multiple recurrence of NF after surgical extirpation, which presented with in-transit metastasis of sarcoma-like feature.

      • Erosive adenomatosis of the nipple presenting early improvement after short-term cryotherapy

        Erosive adenomatosis of the nipple (EAN) is a rare benign neoplasm characterized by the erosion of the nipple forming crust with serous or bloody discharge. Although there is no pronounced link between its nature course with the malignant transformation, the erosive deformity is directly related to the recurrent functional discomfort and cosmetic problem, resulting in deterioration of the quality of life. A 22-year old woman visited the breast clinic for her persistent deformity of the left nipple. She underwent a core-needle biopsy of a breast mass, which was incidentally found during a breast examination. However, no additional abnormalities were found except for fibrocystic change, and then visited to our clinic for evaluation of the skin lesion. The physical examination revealed serous and bloody erosion on top of the nipple with loss of half of its normal structure. The skin biopsy showed hyperplasia of the tubular structure composed of layers of cuboidal cells, but no atypia or pleomorphism. Then she received four times of cryosurgery every six-weeks, and after 6 months the nipple almost completely healed only remaining a tiny slit-like hole. Although the first choice of treatment for EAN is local excision, it is not quite feasible approach in young-aged female patients given the unsatifactory cosmetical outcomes and the anxiety for invasive procedure. Cryotherapy could be one of the acceptable option for the treatment of EAN.

        중대산업사고 예방을 위한 종합위험관리체제(IRMS) 구축에 관한 연구

        The Process Safety Management (PSM) by the Law of Industry, Safety and Health has been performed for preventing major accidents of chemical plants since 1996. In terms of preventing chemical accidents more precisely, it is essential to develop a tool for quantitative risk assessment. For this, KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency) developed an Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) . The system is designed to assimilate data on chemical plant hazards from external database, to integrate these data with location information (topographic and demographic), and to make them user-friendly accessible. The system consists of several main functions: display of five major Korean petrochemical complex layout, display of equipment layout with its information utilizing the external database, zonation of the hazard effected area with consequence analyses, the most probable accident scenario generation, accident/incident database and calculation of frequency of accident using equipment reliability database, etc. The highlight of IRMS is to provide the risk contours using GIS(Geographical Information System) technology. IRMS is intended to manage hazardous installation more systematically and effectively, to reduce the number of accident remarkably, further minimizing production loss in the plant. The system is now under application to about 500 PSM sites as well as and emergency authorities in Korea by KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency)
