      • Solar urticaria in Korean patients

        Background: Solar urticaria (SU) is an uncommon type of photodermatoses characterized by erythematous wheal with pruritus after sunlight exposure, which shows a female predominance. Only a few studies to analyze the clinical features of SU were reported in Asia. Objectives: We aimed to analyze the clinical and photobiological characteristics of SU in Korea. Methods: We retrospectively investigated the medical records of patients with SU who visited the department of dermatology, Konkuk university medical center from January 2005 to January 2020. Results: Of a total of 44 patients, 36 (81.8%) were male and 8 (18.2%) were female. The mean age at onset was 17.6 years (range, 5-47) and the mean threshold time was 19.7 minutes. Among 32 patients who underwent phototesting, the action spectrum most commonly implicated was ultraviolet (UV) A only in 12 (37.5%), and then visible light (415nm) only was responsible for SU in 8 (25.0%). Three patients (9.4%) were induced by both UVA and visible light (415nm). Even 4 patients (12.5%) were triggered by only natural sunlight. Serum immunoglobulin E levels were measured in 33 patients, and 17 (51.5%) showed values higher than normal. The treatment most widely used were oral antihistamine (43.2%), followed by phototherapy (13.6%). Conclusion: SU is a rare photodermatosis in Korea, which shows a male preponderance. In this study, UVA and visible light (415nm) were predominant action spectrum of SU.

      • 젊은 성인에서 흡연에 의한 상완동맥 내피기능의 부전에 관한 연구

        Background and Objectives : Cigarette smoking is a major factor and the most modifiable risk factor for atherosclerosis. Endothelial dysfunction is an early event in atherosclerosis, before the structural change of the systemic arteries. We hypothesized that endothelial dysfunction might be present in the systemic arteries of young adult smokers and that this might be dose-dependent phenomenon. Therefore, we try to certify that smoking is associated with endothelial dysfunction in healthy young adults without other risk factor of atherosclerosis. Subjects and Methods : we studied noninvasively 29 subjects aged 3 to 4 decades without other risk factor of atherosclerosis, they were composed of the two groups, current smokers(n=15) and nonsmokers(n=14). Smoking history varied from 3 to 20 pack years. Using high-resolution ultrasound, vessel diameter and mean flow rate were measured at rest, during reactive hyperemia(with flow-mediated endothelium-dependent dilation), and after sublingual nitroglycerin(NG-induced endothelium-independent vasodilation). Result : Flow mediated endothelium dependent dilation was observed in the control subjects (9.4±3.44%) but was impaired in the smokers(5.8±2.51%)(p=0.004). NG-induced endothelium independent dilation is no difference in all subjects. Conclusion : Cigarette smoking is associated with endothelial dysfunction in healthy young adults.

        기업 사이버교육 학습자들의 내적통제소재, 조직의 지원, 학습몰입, 학업지속의향 간의 구조적관계 규명

        본 연구는 기업 사이버교육생을 대상으로 하여 내적통제소재, 조직의 지원, 학습몰입과 학업지속의향 간의 구조적 관계를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 A기업의 2009년 1월 사이버강좌 수강생 447명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과 내적통제소재와 조직의 지원은 학습몰입에 직접적인 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 내적통제소재와 학습몰입은 학업지속의향에 직접적인 유의한 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학습몰입은 내적통제소재와 학업지속의향, 조직의 지원과 학업지속의향을 매개하는 변수임을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 내적통제소재가 사이버교육 과정의 교수설계와 개발전략을 위해 고려되어야 하는 변수라는 것과, 조직의 지원이 기업 사이버교육의 효과성을 향상시키는데 있어서 중요한 변수라는 것을 시사한다. 이에 본 연구는 성공적인 사이버교육을 위한 학습전략을 제공하는데 있어서 기초적인 토대를 제공하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다. The purpose of the present study is to verify the structural relationship among internal locus of control, organizational support, flow and learning persistence in Corporate Cyber Education. The subjects were 447 students who participated in A’s corporate cyber courses. A hypothetical model was proposed, which was composed of internal locus of control, organizational support, flow as an extraneous variable, and learning persistence as an endogenous variable. Flow has also been suggested as an intervening endogenous variable. The results of this study through structural equation modeling analysis indicated that both internal locus of control and organizational support significantly affect flow. Also, internal locus of control and flow affected learning persistence significantly. As a result of the Sobel test to examine the significance of the mediation effect, flow was a mediating variable between internal locus of control and learning persistence, organizational support and learning persistence. These results imply that internal locus of control should be considered for the design and development strategies of online courses. Also, organizational support is critical to enhance the effectiveness of corporate cyber education. This study proposes the first step of learning strategies for successful cyber education.

      • 시판우유 및 조제분유의 화학적 성분에 관한 연구

        The study was analyzed to testify the excellency among commercial milk and infant formula. In view of these facts, it is of importance comparing chemical compositions. 5 commercial milk and 3 infant formula were purchased in supermarket. 1.Total nucleic acid concentration in commercial milk and infant formula were 1.43W /V% and 2.62W/V%, respectively. 2.Total free sugar concentration in commercial milk(6. 32W. V%) and infant formula (11.68W/V%). 3.Total amino acid concentration was 2. 86% in commercial milk, and 11. 20% in infant formula. 4.In fatty acids, especially DHA in commercial milk was not detected. 5.Major mineral and trace metal analyzed by ICP after wet digestion. The elements examined in the samples were Ca, Mg, K, P, Na in major mineral and Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb in trace metal. In the most of trace metal, infant formula was higher than commercial milk. Cd and Pb were not detected.

        양극성 장애에서 표피성장인자의 유전적 다형성에 대한 연합연구

        Objectives : Epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a neurotrophic factor which regulates the intracellular signaling molecules. These molecules are also affected by mood stabilizers such as lithium and valproate. In addition, epidermal growth factor enhances neuronal survival, maturation and differentiation especially in midbrain dopaminergic neurons of which dysfimction may play a role in pathophysiology of bipolar disorders. Bipolar disorder has some genetic commonalities with schizophrenia, and several association studies of EGF have been done with schizophrenia. In this study, we tried to investigate the geneticassociation between EGF A61G polymorphism and bipolar disorder. Methods : Total of 189 patients and 347 nonnal control were included. All patients satisfied the diagnostic criteria of DSM-IV for bipolar disorder type I (BPDI, N= 146) and bipolar disorder type II (BPDII, N=43). Genomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood, and genotyping was performed by TaqMan™ method. Genotype and allele frequency of EGF A61G polymorphism between the patients and the control were compared by contingency chi-square test or the Fisher's exact test. Results : No association was found between EGF A61G polymorphism and susceptibility of BPDI, BPDII and bipolar disorder (all patients). Female patients with BPDII showed overexpression of AG genotype compared to that ofcontrol group (p=0.03). However, this association was not significant after correction of multiple testing. Conclusion : In conclusion, EGF A61G polymorphism has no association with susceptibility of bipolar disorder. However, the disease modifying role of EGF gene polymorphism for bipolar disorder remains to be elucidated in respect to factors such as gender difference or diagnostic subtype.

      • 용융 AI-10Si 합금의 산화피막강도 및 표면 미세조직에 미치는 Mg첨가의 효과에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to determine the strength of oxide skins of Al-10Si alloy melts and the effect of Mg addition on the morphology of oxide skins as the practical alloy for automobile piston. This has been observed by Rotational Die Movement Equipment for the temperature range from 600℃ to 720℃, the oxidation time range from 2 min. to 60 min. and the Mg weight percent(wt %) range from 1% to 5%. As the surface temperature and the surface oxide time of alloy melts increased, the crystalization of oxide layer and the creation of oxides were verified.

        병원근무자에 대한 특수건강진단 적용 가능성에 관한 연구

        병원근무자들에 대한 특수건강진단 적용 여부를 판단하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 1995년 3월 10일부터 4주간에 걸쳐 부산시내에 위치하는 2개 종합병원 근무자 830명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행해 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 조사된 43개 항목 중 10% 이상의 대상자가 유해요인에 폭로되고 있다고 응답한 항목은 소음, 분진 등 16개 항목이었다. 이 중 분진, 소음 및 스트레스는 연구대상자의 50%이상에서 폭로되고 있다고 응답했으며 그 외 알콜류 소독제(41.3%), 방사선(34.6%), 일반약제(33.3%)의 순으로 폭로되고 있었고 VDT의 경우 25.2%, aldehyde류는 18.7%에서 폭로되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 대상자의 63.1%에서 병원근무 환경 중에 유해인자가 존재한다고 응답했고 병원의 환경측정이 필요하다고 대답한 사람은 80%에 달했다. 35.7%가 유해인자에 대한 교육을 받은 적이 없다고 응답했다. 전체 응답자의 35.7%가 유해인자에 폭로시 보호 장비를 착용하지 않는다고 응답했고 주기적인(격년) 건강진단은 48.6%에서 받는 것으로 조사되었다. 근무부서의 환기상태는 7.2%만이 좋은 편이라고 응답했다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 병원근무자들이 여러 가지 유해환경에 노출되고 있고 또, 이로 인해 발생할 수 있는 건강장해에 대한 예방대책이 소홀한 것으로 나타나 병원의 작업환경측정의 시행이 필요하고 이 결과를 바탕으로 병원근무자들에 대한 특수건강진단 적용여부를 결정해야 할 것이다. This study was performed to decide the possibility of special health examination to the hospital employees. We carried out questionnaire survey for 830 subjects at 2 general hospitals located in Pusan city. The summary of this study are as follows. 1. Above 10% of total hospital employees were replied that they exposed to 16 hazard items, such as dust, noise, stress and etc. Among them, over 50% of hospital employees exposed to dust(69.8%), noise(52.3%), stress(60.1%). And hospital employees exposed to alcoholic disinfectant(41.3%), radiation(34.6%), drug(33.3%), VDT(25.2%), and aldehyde(18.7%) also. 2. 63% of the hospital employees replied that there were hazardous factors in hospital environments, and 80% insisted the necessity for hospital environment measuring. 35.7% of respondents replied that they had never taken the education about hazardous factors. 35.7% of the total respondents answered that they didn't use protective equipment when exposed to hazardous factors. And 48.6% answered they took periodic health examination. Only 7.2% replied that ventilation condition of office room was proper. As shown in above results, hospital employees are exposed to various hazards, and turn out neglecting to health problems caused these hazardous factors. So at first, it is necessary to measuring hospital working environment, and then will be decided the possibility of special health examination to the hospital employees.

      • 근원세포의 융합과 연관된 표면 단백질의 확인

        배양 근원세포 분화에 따른 세포융합에 직접적으로 관여하는 단백질을 찾기 위해 48 시간 배양한 근원세포를 항원으로 BALB/C mouse에 면역시켜 얻은 spleen cell과 myeloma cell(P3U-1)을 융합시켜 근원세포와 반응하는 항체를 분비하는 hybridoma를 얻었다. 세 차례 한계 희석 후 계대배양하여 분리한 clone들이 분비하는 항체를 근원세포 배양액에 첨가하여 근원세포의 융합을 억제하는 효과가 있는 단일클론항체인 MAb MII-3J3l을 얻었다. MAb MII-3J3l의 효과는 2 ㎍/ml의 농도에서 세포분열에 영향이 없이 근원세포의 융합을 완전히 억제하였으며 이 효과는 적어도 48 시간 지속되었고 항체를 제거할 경우 융합이 재개되어 가역적인 억제효과를 나타내었다. MAb MII-3J31이 인지하는 단백질은 38 kDa로 근원세포 표면을 trypsin 처리하였을 때 잘리워 나감으로 표면단백질로 추정된다. The present study describes the production of monoclonal antibodies against cultured chick myoblast to pursue a protein may play a critical function in muscle cell fusion. Among a panel of monoclonal antibodies, MAb MII-3J3l inhibits myoblast fusion completely, while cell growth proceeds normally and its effect is reversible. The antigen reactive with MAb MII-3J31 isolated by radioimmunoprecipitation and detected by immunoblot was found a 38 kDa protein. For trypsin-treated cell lost its antigenic determinant, the protein may be located in the cell surface.
