        The purposes of this study were 1) to investigate the relationship between theacceptance oF unisex mode and rigidity character and 2) to find out any significantdifference in the acceptance of unisex mode according to grade, major and sex. The questionnaires were administered to 133 female and 174 male college students. The results; 1. The accptance of unisex mode was not related with rigidity character. 2. The acceptance of female unisex mode was higher than male unisex mode. 3. Females showed higher tendency in the acceptance of unisex mode and fashioninnovativeness than males. 4. No significant differences were found in the acceptance of unisex mode accordingto grade and major level.

        Epiglottitis is an uncommon but potentially life threatening infectious disease in young children. And it is rapidly progressing cellulitis of the epiglottis and adjacent structures that has the potential for causing abrupt, complete airway obstruction. The most common cause of acute epiglottitis is Haemophilius influenzae type b (Hib), therefore in USA, the acute epiglottitis is seen less commonly since the wide spread use of immunization against Hib. In Korea, there has been no report of acute epiglottitis caused by known bacterial organism, and a little investigation of the effects of the immunization against Hib, or Hib related respiratory diseases. In this report, we describe two cases of acute epiglottitis caused by Hib, occurred in non-immunized young-male children admitted to Ajou University Hospital. They had visited to the emergency center of Ajou University hospital with the complaints of acute fever, drooling, dysphagia and severe respiratory difficulties. In both cases, we observed the cherry-red colored, severely swollen epiglottis by the direct laryngoscopic examination. Hib was cultured in blood samples from both two cases, and the patients treated successfully by the 3 days of endotracheal intubation and proper antibiotics therapy without any complications such as pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis, or pericarditis.

        주택의 신축과 해체시 건설폐기물의 발생종류와 처리방법 비교ㆍ분석에 관한 연구

        The housing construction has been quickly changed by construction of apartments since 1960. An obsoleted apartment house has been increased by political measures with quantitative enlargement of housing supply. The redevelopment and reconstruction of housing have been activated as an alternative plan. The redevelopment and reconstruction for existing buildings increases in construction wastes, which is influencing on both management and disposal of construction wastes, besides the quantitative augmentation of construction wastes have an effect on both society and environment. Therefore the management and disposal system of construction wastes is demanded from a side of the both society and environment. The purpose of this study offers basic data to compare and analyze both the kinds of construction wastes and the ways of disposal of these wastes generated when founding and dismantling residential buildings.

      • 植物을 利用한 廢水 中의 카드뮴이온 除去에 關한 硏究 : Ⅰ. 소리쟁이 (Rumex crispus L.) 植物體에 對한 카드믐이온 吸收 Ⅰ. Absorption of Cadmium Ions by Dock(Rumex Crispus L.)Plants

        With the rapid increase of population and industrial facilities, surface waters of Korea are being increasingly polluted, and cadmium is one of the most serious pollutants. Plants in general are capable of absorbing inorganic substances dissolved in water, and this capability is known to differ in different environments due to adaptation. As an initial step to develop inexpensive alternative to traditional technologies of purifying polluted waters utilizing such capability of plants, cadmium absorption rate of dock (Rumex crispus L.: Poligonaceae) plants, one of the dominant species on the floodplain of heavily polluted Jungryang-chun, was determined. Because cadmium generally exists with zinc, the effect of zinc on cadmium absorption of this species was also determined. Cadmium absorption rate of this species increased with the increase of cadmium concentration in water: 1.63, 9.31 and 17.29 mg Cd^(++)/g plant/hr in 10, 50 and 100 ppm Cd(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O solution. Cadmium absorption rate in 50 ppm cadmium solution was not greatly affected by zinc coneentration:6.35, 5.99, 7.71 and 7.36 mg Cd^(++)/g plant/hr in 0, 2, 4 and 6 ppm Zn (NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O. Cadmium absorption was greater in plants with greater leaf and root dry weight. It was concluded that, this plant species can be used in removing cadmium in industrial and municipal waste water effectively and economically.

        Newspaper Advertisement not only reflects social culture in our society, but also affects in Social-Cultural Values. In addition, Newspaper Advertisement is the main mean. connecting between the public as consumer and the building industry as the producer of Apartment(APT) Market. Therefore, this paper studies residential culture in APT and also, aims to analyze the newspaper advertisement to find the relationship in residential market. Due to changes occurring in APT advertisement after 1998, the price decontrol of Apt has enforced, divided and analyzed since the APT advertisement since the beginning of early 1970's and right after 1998. As APT advertisement among the companies were inflamed due to the enforced level among many various types of APT. Even though the phenomena in APT market influences on the development and changes in traditional APT spatial planning, on the other hand, it results in falsification of our residential culture. Newspaper advertisement presents a new possible direction and proposes corrective social-cultural role by analysis of spatial & class distinction in APT.

        치주인대세포 배양에서 estrogen이 growth hormone receptor의 발현유도에 미치는 영향

        본 실험은 사람의 치주인대세포에서 에스트로겐과 growth hormone(GH)이 상호 어떠한 작용을 하는지를 규명하는 것이 목적이다. 교정치료를 받고자 내원한 환자중에서 건강한 20대 여자환자들의 상하악 제1소구치를 발거하여, 치근의 중간 1/3부위에서 긁어모은 치주인대 조직을 배양하여 치주인대세포를 얻었다. 사람의 치주인대세포의 분열증식에 대한 17β-estradiol과 hGH의 효과를 평가하고, 치주인대세포에 17β-estradiol을 전처리한 후 치주인대세포의 분열증식에 미치는 hGH의 효과 변화를 평가하였으며, 치주인대세포에 17β-estradiol을 전처리 하였을 경우 치주인대세포에서 hGH receptor의 발현 양상의 변화를 평가하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1.17β-estradiol이나 human growth hormone의 단독처리는 사람의 치주인대세포의 분열증식에 큰 영향을 주지 않는다. 2.17β-estradiol 10-12M로 전처리한 후 hGH를 투여한 경우 hGH의 농도에 관계없이 사람의 치주인대세포의 분열증식을 증가시킨다. 3.사람의 치주인대세포에는 hGH receptor가 없으나, 17β-estradiol 10-12M로 6시간 이상 처리하면 hGH receptor가 발현된다. 4.hGH이 사람의 치주인대세포의 분열증식에 미치는 효과는 hGH receptor의 발현과 관련이 있으며, 17β-estradiol의 전처리가 치주인대세포에서의 hGH receptor의 발현에 기여함으로써 hGH이 치주인대세포에 작용할 수 있도록 해준다. The present studies were performed to investigate the interaction of 17β -estradiol and human growth hormone(hGH) on the proliferation of human periodontal ligament(hPDL) cell. The independent effects of 17β-estradiol and hGH on hPDL cell proliferation were investigated and the effects of hGH on hPDL cell proliferation after 17β-estradiol pre-treatment were also investigated. Lastly, the change of hGH receptor expression in hPDL cell after 17β-estradiol pre-treatment were investigated. The obtained results were as follows; 1.The treatment of 17β-estradiol or hGH had no significant effects on hPDL cell proliferation. 2.After pre-treatment of 17β-estradiol, hGH stimulated the proliferation of the hPDL cell, regardless of hHG concentration. 3.Although there was not hGH receptor in the hPDL cell, hGH receptors were expressed in hPDL cell after more than 6 hours pre-treatment of 17β-estradiol. 4.The effect of hGH on hPDL cell proliferation was related to the hGH receptor expression. 17β -estradiol pre-treatment contributed to the hGH effects on the hPDL cell by stimulating hGHR expression.

        하수처리장 처리수의 工業用水 재이용시 經濟性 評價에 관한 硏究

        To provide against shortage of water resources, the importance of treated sewage is recognized and its using is increased, and yet the rate of reusing it is 2.9% in 2000. Rate of treated sewage is high and the quality of water in the sewage is being improved by advanced water treatment in Daegu, but the rate of reusing wastewater treatment in Daegu is low, and that in S-sewage disposal plant which has the highest rate of reusing it in Daegu is about 11%. As compared with the amount of water supplied(in 2001) of a local autonomous entity, the rate of using domestic water as industrial water in Daegu reaches the highest level at 441ℓ. In this study, after the actual state of operation of S-sewage disposal plant is analyzed, economic evaluation is estimated when wastewater of S-sewage disposal plant is reused as industrial water in the Third industrial complex. This research is anticipated to be fundamental data for diversifying reuse.
