        Radiofrequency ablation(RFA), as a form of minimally invasive therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, has become an important treatment modality. Because of limitation of surgery, RFA has become standard therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma in some situations. But there are some complications of RFA such as bleeding, infection, hematoma, adjacent organ thermal damage including intestinal perforation, needle track seeding, and so on. There are few reports in the literature that systematically evaluate the incidence of needle tract seeding and its associated risk factors. And only 2 cases of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA were reported in Korea. We report a case of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA.

        수종의 고정성 보정장치에 따른 유성견의 치주조직 반응

        교정력을 가한 후 각기 다른 재료로 제작된 고정성 보정장치를 적용한 경우에 발생하는 치주조직의 재형성과 치유과정을 조직학적으로 관찰하기 위해 건강한 치주상태를 가진 네 마리의 유성견을 대상으로 최초 교정력이 200gm이 되도록 견인 스프링 (sentalloy closed coil springR, Tomy Co., Japan)을 대상 치아에 결찰하여 1주일 간 교정력을 가한 후, 각각의 실험동물에 3가닥 호선인 0.018인치 DentaflexR(Dentarum Co., Germany), 3가닥 호선인 0.020인치 DentaflexR(Dentarum Co., Germany), 6가닥 호선인 0.0195인치 RespondR(G&H Co., U.S.A.)를, 그리고 자가중합형 레진 접착제인 Superbond C&BR를 고정성 보정장치의 재료를 이용하여 보정장치를 접착한 군과 보정장치를 접착하지 않은 군으로 나누어 3주간 적용 후 희생하여 H-E염색군, M-T염색군으로 나누어 광학현미경으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1.0.0195인치 RespondR를 접착시킨 군은 0.018인치 DentaflexR, 0.020인치 DentaflexR, Superbond C&BR를 접착시킨 군에 비교할 때 압박측에서의 거대세포 침윤 감소와 긴장측에서의 신생골 형성 증가가 매우 두드러지게 나타났으며 치주인대는 형태와 배열에서 대부분 정상적인 소견을 보였다. 2.실험 1군의 모든 실험대상에서 압박측 치조골 내부의 괴사골이 관찰되었고, 압박측과 긴장측 모두에서 치조골 표면의 골양조직 및 sharped 섬유의 형성과 치주인대의 재형성 현상이 나타나는 것이 관찰되었다. 3.실험 2군은 실험 1군에 비교하여 압박측에서 거대세포 침윤이 현저히 감소되었고 치주인대는 거의 정상적인 소견을 보였다. 긴장측에서는 수층의 골침착을 보이며 치주인대 측으로 골양조직과 골아세포가 구상으로 나타나는 활성화 소견을 보였다. 이상의 결과에서 더 여러 가닥이 꼬인 6가닥 호선인 0.0195인치 RespondR(G&H Co., U.S.A.)를 보정장치로 적용한 경우가 다른 재료의 고정성 보정장치보다 더 활발한 신생골주 형성의 활성화 소견이 관찰되었으며 대조군과 유사한 배열과 형태를 보이는 정상적인 치주인대 섬유의 배열양상이 관찰되어 다른 재료들에 비교하여 치주조직의 초기 재형성과정을 더 신속하게 유도하는 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the material for fixed type retainer, allowing physiologic tooth movement. and proper remodeling of periodontal tissue during retention period. The present study was performed to observe the histologic changes of periodontal tissue after application of different types of fixed type retainer after orthodontic tooth movement in young adult dogs. For this study, 4 young adult dogs were used as a experimental animal and experimental group was divided into three groups ; experimental group 1 contained right side maxillary third incisors and canines, experimental group 2 contained contralateral teeth of same animals, and control group contained mandibular premolars. And each dogs were applied the 4 different types of fixed type retainer to experimental group 1. The experimental teeth were ligated on the Sentalloy closed coil springR(Tomy Co., Japan) from maxillary third incisors and canines and applied orthodontic force at initial 200gm-forced during 1 week. All the experimental animals were sacrificed on the 3rd week after the orthodontic teeth movement and then the specimens were taken, fixed in formalin, embeded in parafin, sectioned 6-8μm in thickness and stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin staining, and Masson's trichrome staining method. Examined under the light microscopy. The following results were observed. There were observed that decreased infiltration of giant cells in pressure side and increased the new bone forming in tension side on the specimen of 6-stranded 0.0195' RespondR(G&H Co., U.S.A.) group. Periodontal ligament fibers were much compressed or elongated in 3-stranded 0.018', 0.020' DentaflexR(Dentarum Co., Germany), and Superbond C&BR(Sun Medical Co., Japan) groups. 2. In experimental group 1, necrotic bone inside the alveolar bone of pressure side, forming of the sharpey's fiber in osteoid tissue, and remodeling of the periodontal ligament were observed in all animals. 3. In experimental group 2, it was observed that the amount of bone resorption was equal or decreased in pressure side, and increased new bone forming and significantly decreased Infiltration of giant cell than the experimental group 1. By this results, it considered that 6-stranded RespondR(G&H Co., U.S.A.) wire was the most useful material allowing early periodontal tissue remodeling.

        정신분열병에 대한 리스페리돈의 효과 및 안정성

        연구목적 : 본 시험의 목적은 임상시험 시작전에 연구자들을 대상으로 PANSS Workshop을 통하여 PANSS, ESRS에 대한 국내에서의 표준화 작업을 구축하고 새로운 정신병 치료제인 리스페리돈의 효과와 안정성을 재확인하여 리스페리돈 사용에 대한 적정화를 이루는데 있다. 연구방법 : 1996년 4월부터 1996년 9월까지 국내 39개 대학병원 정신과에 입원중인 혹은 증상이 악화되어 입원하는 정신분열병 환자 377명을 대상으로 다시설 개방 연구를 시행하였다. 1주일간의 약물 배설기간을 가진후, 리스페리돈을 8주간 투여하였고, 기준점, 1주, 2주, 4주, 그리고 8주후에 평가되었다. 용량은 제1일에는 리스페리돈 1mg씩 1일 2회, 제2일에는 2mg씩 1일 2회, 제3∼7일에는 3mg씩 1일 2회 투여하였다. 이후 환자의 임상상태에 따라 임의로 증량할 수 있으며, 최대 일일 16mg을 초과하지 않도록 하였다. 추체외로 증상을 조절하기 위한 투약을 허용하였다. 임상증상 및 부작용의 평가는 PANSS(Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale), CGI(Clinical Global Impression) 그리고 ESRS(Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 : 377명중 343명(91%)이 8주간의 연구를 완결하였다. 치료 종결시점인 8주후 PANSS 총점수가 20% 이상 호전된 경우를 약물 반응군으로 정의할때, 약물반응군은 81.3%였다. 리스페리돈에 반응하는 예측인자로는 발병연령, 이전의 입원 횟수, 유병기간이 관련 있었다. 리스페리돈은 1주후부터 PANSS양성, 음성, 및 일반정신병리 점수상에 유의한 호전을 보여 효과가 빨랐다. CGI의 경우도 기준점에 비해 1주후부터 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. ESRS의 경우, 파킨슨 평가점수는 기준점과 비교해 투여 1주, 2주, 4주후 유의하게 증가되었다가 8주후 기준점과 차이가 없었다. Dystonia 평가점수는 1주후만 유의한 증가를 보였으며, dyskinesia 평가점수는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 혈압, 맥박수의 생명징후 및 일반 혈액학 검사, 생화학적 검사, 심전도 검사에서 유의한 변화는 없었다. 결 론 : 이상의 다시설 개방 임상 연구를 통해 리스페리돈은 정신분열병 환자에서 양성증상뿐만 아니라 음성증상 및 전반적인 증상에도 효과적인 것으로 사료된다. 보다 명확한 평가를 위해서는 다른 항정신병약물과의 이중맹검 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각되며, 또한 장기적 치료에 대한 평가도 함께 이루어져야 하겠다. Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of risperidone in the treatment of Korean schizophrenic patients. Method : This multicenter open study included 377 schizophrenic patients drawn from 39 university hospitals. After a wash-out period of 1 week, the schizophrenic patients were treated with risperidone for 8 weeks and evaluated at 5 points ; at baseline, and 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment. The dose was increased from 2mg/day(1mg twice daily) to 6mg/day(3mg twice daily) during the first week and adjusted to a maximum of 16mg/day over the next 7 weeks according to the patient's clinical response. Medication to control extrapyramidal symptoms was permitted. The psychiatric and neurological status of the patients was assessed by PANSS, CGI, and ESRS scales. Results : 343(91%) of 377 patients completed the 8-week trial period. Clinical improvement, as defined by a 20% or more reduction in total PANSS score at end point, was shown by 81.3% of patients. The predictors of response to risperidone were associated older age, shorter duration of illness, fewer previous hospitalization. Risperidone had rapid onset of action ; a significant decrease of the total PANSS and three PANSS factor(positive, negative, general), and CGI was already noticed at the end of first week. For the ESRS, parkinsonism rating scores were significantly increased until week 4 comparing with baseline. Dystonia rating scores were significantly increased until week 1, and dyskinesia rating scores were not significantly changed during the study. Laboratory parameters including vital sign, EKG, hematological, and biochemical values showed no significant changes during the trial. Conclusions : This study suggests that risperidone is generally safe and effective against both the positive and negative symptoms in our group of patients.

      • 스테레오 비젼과 레이저포인터를 이용한 거리 측정 시스템

        In this paper, we studied on the environment map building for the autonomous mobile robot navigation using the vergence controllable stereo camera system. First of all, distance measurements are necessary to build the environment map. So, we present the distance measurement method using the stereo camera system and a laser pointer. To measure the distance using the stereo camera system, finding the common points in the left and the right images are needed. In this study, we use a laser pointer to solve this problem. Secondly, we present the method how to obtain the 3-dimension position information using 3-D geometric schematic of the stereo camera and the measured distance information. This information is essential to the mobile robot navigation. Finally, we prove the presented method experimentally. An image of a corridor is taken by the stereo camera. The door and pillar in this image are landmarks. Therefore, we find such landmarks in the image and measure the 3-D position information for those landmarks. And the, we construct the environment map for the navigation of the mobile robot.

        Zone refining에 의한 고순도 Cu 제조에 관한 연구

        The refining efficiency of high-purity Cu was investigated prepared by zone refining, with respect to travel rate, distribution coefficient, number of pass and zone length. Especially, to investigate refining efficiency with respect to zone length, experimental and computer simulation results were compared. The composition of the refined high-purity Cu was analyzed by GDOS (Glow Discharge Optical Spectroscopy) and GDMS (Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometer). The composition profiles of each segment at the given condition were compared with the results of micro hardness profiles. The results showed that the refining efficiency was inversely proportional to the travel rate, while it was proportional to the number of pass. The travel rate was more effective than the number of pass to enhance the refining efficiency in zone refining process. Impurities whose distribution coefficients are below 0.5 were removed efficiently. The effectively refined region increased with decreasing the zone length from 45 mm to 30 mm. Especially, the element S, which is known to be hardly removed by zone refining, could be removed to a level of under 0.1 ppm over the 60% region at 1 mm/min. (Received July 22, 2004)

      • 경상남도 체육공원의 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 : 창원, 마산, 진해, 김해지역을 중심으로

        본 연구는 최근 생활체육의 장으로 널리 활용되고 있는 도내 체육공원의 현황을 파악하고 시설에 대한 미비점과 문제점, 시설이용에 대한 애로점, 시민들의 요망사항 등을 고려하여 체육공원 이용 활성화 방안을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 창원·마산·진해·김해 지역의 체육공원 중 다양한 계층이 고르게 사용하고 있는 13곳의 체육공원을 선정하여 직접 현장에 가서 현황을 파악하였으며 또한 일반 시민을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이러한 내용을 조사·분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 체육공원에 대한 행정관청 주도의 적극적은 홍보가 필요하다. 2. 체육공원 설치시 그 지역의 이용지를 예상하여 체육공원을 설계하여야 한다. 3. 연령이나 남·녀, 개인 및 집단, 환경 등을 고려하여 위치를 선정하고 다양한 사용자에 대하여 개인적으로 운동욕구나 흥미를 줄 수 있는 운동기구의 설치 및 확충이 요구된다. 4. 운동기구의 정확한 명칭, 운동요령, 운동효과, 체력기준표의 설치가 필요하며 설치 후 세심한 관리가 요구된다. 5. 운동효과를 극대화하기 위한 운동기구의 배치가 요구된다. 6. 화장실, 음수대(세면대), 차양막, 담소장소 등 부대시설의 확충이 요구된다. 7. 학교, 직장체육시설, 아파트 단지 내 소규모 체육공원의 설치와 필요할 경우 사설 시설과 연계할 수 있는 방법을 모색하여야 한다.

        The analytical studies from the test results are presented. From experimental envelope curve, hysteretic behaviors under cyclic loading are modeled for beam-column subassemblages. Modelled curves show relatively good reproduction for experimental curves. Finally, seismic performances are investigated for 7 story plain framed structure by nonlinear dynamic analysis. The resulting responses are different by each beam-column joint design.

      • Effect of gel spinning accompanied with cross-linking using boric acid on the structure and properties of high-molecular-weight poly(vinyl alcohol) fiber

        <P>To enhance the thermal stability of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) fiber, the fiber was prepared from the gel spinning of high molecular weight (HMW) PVA by using dimethyl sulfoxide/water (8/2, v/v) as a solvent, accompanied with the cross-link by boric acid (B-PVA). In addition, the structure and properties of the B-PVA fiber were compared with those of the HMW PVA fiber obtained by using the same spinning system without cross-linking (NB-PVA). Through a series of experiments, it turned out that cross-linking actualized by an optimum amount of boric acid (0.3 wt % based on PVA) and zone drawing caused significant changes in the properties of HMW PVA gel fiber. That is, cross-linking increased thermal degradation temperatures at each degradation step and amounts of final residues, resulting in improving thermal properties of the PVA fiber. On the contrary, it was found that in the case of the B-PVA fiber, some broadening of the original PVA unit cell occurred, which was identified by the peak shift to lower angle in X-ray diffractogram.       • Electrically conductive graphene/polyacrylamide hydrogels produced by mild chemical reduction for enhanced myoblast growth and differentiation

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Graphene and graphene derivatives, such as graphene oxide (GO) and reduced GO (rGO), have been extensively employed as novel components of biomaterials because of their unique electrical and mechanical properties. These materials have also been used to fabricate electrically conductive biomaterials that can effectively deliver electrical signals to biological systems. Recently, increasing attention has been paid to electrically conductive hydrogels that have both electrical activity and a tissue-like softness. In this study, we synthesized conductive graphene hydrogels by mild chemical reduction of graphene oxide/polyacrylamide (GO/PAAm) composite hydrogels to obtain conductive hydrogels. The reduced hydrogel, r(GO/PAAm), exhibited muscle tissue-like stiffness with a Young’s modulus of approximately 50kPa. The electrochemical impedance of r(GO/PAAm) could be decreased by more than ten times compared to that of PAAm and unreduced GO/PAAm. <I>In vitro</I> studies with C2C12 myoblasts revealed that r(GO/PAAm) significantly enhanced proliferation and myogenic differentiation compared with unreduced GO/PAAm and PAAm. Moreover, electrical stimulation of myoblasts growing on r(GO/PAAm) graphene hydrogels for 7days significantly enhanced the myogenic gene expression compared to unstimulated controls. As results, our graphene-based conductive and soft hydrogels will be useful as skeletal muscle tissue scaffolds and can serve as a multifunctional platform that can simultaneously deliver electrical and mechanical cues to biological systems.</P> <P><B>Statement of Significance</B></P> <P>Graphene-based conductive hydrogels presenting electrical conductance and a soft tissue-like modulus were successfully fabricated via mild reduction of graphene oxide/polyacrylamide composite hydrogels to study their potential to skeletal tissue scaffold applications. Significantly promoted myoblast proliferation and differentiation were obtained on our hydrogels. Additionally, electrical stimulation of myoblasts via the graphene hydrogels could further upregulate myogenic gene expressions. Our graphene-incorporated conductive hydrogels will impact on the development of new materials for skeletal muscle tissue engineering scaffolds and bioelectronics devices, and also serve as novel platforms to study cellular interactions with electrical and mechanical signals.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • 관성타원을 이용한 다관절의 로보트의 동특성 해석

        The dynamic characteristics of multi-body such as an articulated arm is analyzed and simulated by using the generalized inertia ellipsoid(GIE). Unlike the inertia ellipsoid of a single body, the GIE of multi-body, changes its shape and orientation depending on the configuration of the arm because of nonlinear effects like Coriolis and centrifugal forces. The reciprocal of the square root of the maximum eigenvalue of generalized inertia tensor of the arm tip is corresponding to the minor axis and to the maximum resultant inertia. The speed of the arm tip is maximum along the direction of the eigenvector of the generalized inertia tensor (and vice versa). The results of this study can be applied to design of the robot structure, i.e. the design parameters of the robot can be determined to have an isotropic inertia characteristics and reduce the nonlinear effects through the working space of the robot.
