        교육을 통한 한국의 대 아프리카 공공외교 연구

        본 연구는 한국의 대 아프리카 공공외교에 있어서 교육 협력사업이 가지는 의미에 대해서 살펴봤다. 한국이 아프리카를 대상으로 수행해온 기존의 교육 협력사업이 공공외교적으로 갖는 유의미성을 알아보고 효과성을 높이기 위한 방안에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지금까지 교육부 주도의 대 아프리카 교육 협력사업 사례를 분석하였다. 다자협력 플랫폼을 통한 공공외교 사례로 지역 국제기구를 활용한 협력 사례를 살펴보고, 한-아프리카 교육 협력사업의 경험을 공유하는 ‘한-아프리카의 날’ 개최 사례도 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 교육협력 사업이 단순히 개발협력의 결과물에 머물지 않고 대 아프리카 공공외교의 활용 대안으로 발전하기 위해서는 아프리카 지역의 특수성에 대한 이해도가 깊은 지역 기반의 다자협력 플랫폼과의 협력으로 영향력 제고의 가능성을 확인했다. 또한, 지금까지 수행되어온 교육 협력사업에 대한 외교적 관점의 결과물 재생산도 필요하며, 이를 위해서 교육 협력사업의 결과물을 공공외교 맞춤형 콘텐츠로 재해석하여 대상 국가의 문화적 맥락에 맞게 공급할 수 있도록 준비해야 할 것이다. The research examined the meaning of educational cooperation as Korea’s public diplomacy towards African countries, thus looking into the existing cooperation projects and seeking a way to improve its effectiveness. The paper analyzed the cases of the educational cooperation project led by the Ministry of Education, especially cases via international organizations as a multilateral platform held ‘Korea-Africa day’ to share experiences of the projects.         업사이클링 소셜벤처의 성공요인 분석

        본 연구는 소셜벤처가 업사이클링 비즈니스를 통해 기업의 지속가능한 가치를 높이는 과정을 ERIS 모델을 적용하여 분석함으로써 성공요인을 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 자동차 생산과정 및 폐자동차에서 수거한 천연가죽시트, 안전벨트 및 에어백 등의 소재로 업사이클링 비즈니스를 수행하는 소셜벤처를 선정하고, 벤처기업의 성과를 분석하는 ERIS 모델을 적용하여 사례분석을 진행했다. 분석 결과, 기업가 요인에서 기업가의 시장기회 파악 및 초기 시스템 구축 역량, 자원 요인으로는 유무형 자원의확보를 통한 일관된 브랜드 이미지 구축, 산업환경 요인으로 경쟁력에 근거한 경쟁적 산업환경 적응, 마지막으로 전략 요인에서는 모든 기업 활동이 지속가능성 추구로 인해 가치를 창출한다는 것을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과를 중심으로 결론 및 시사점을 도출하였다. This study aims to identify success factors by applying the ERIS model to analyze the process of social ventures increasing the sustainable value of companies through upcycling businesses. To this end, a case analysis was conducted by applying an ERIS model that analyzes the performance of start-ups by selecting social ventures that conduct upcycling businesses using materials such as natural leather seats, seat belts, and airbags collected from automobile production processes and end-of-life automobiles. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the entrepreneur's ability to identify market opportunities and establish an initial system in entrepreneurial factors, build a consistent brand image by securing tangible and intangible resources as resource factors, adapt to competitive industrial environment based on competitiveness, and finally, create value by pursuing sustainability in all corporate activities in strategic factors. Conclusions and implications were drawn based on the above results.

        Development of tau PET Imaging Ligands and their Utility in Preclinical and Clinical Studies

        The pathological features of Alzheimer's disease are senile plaques which are aggregates of ${\beta}$-amyloid peptides and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. Neurofibrillary tangles are aggregates of hyperphosphorylated tau proteins, and these induce various other neurodegenerative diseases, such as progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, frontotemporal dementia and parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17 (FTDP-17), and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. In the case of Alzheimer's disease, the measurement of neurofibrillary tangles associated with cognitive decline is suitable for differential diagnosis, disease progression assessment, and to monitor the effects of therapeutic treatment. This review discusses considerations for the development of tau ligands for imaging and summarizes the results of the first-in-human and preclinical studies of the tau tracers that have been developed thus far. The development of tau ligands for imaging studies will be helpful for differential diagnosis and for the development of therapeutic treatments for tauopathies including Alzheimer's disease.

        Neovascularization in Outer Membrane of Chronic Subdural Hematoma : A Rationale for Middle Meningeal Artery Embolization

        Objective : Chronic subdural hematomas (cSDHs) are generally known to result from traumatic tears of bridging veins. However, the causes of repeat spontaneous cSDHs are still unclear. We investigated the changes in vasculature in the human dura mater and outer membrane (OM) of cSDHs to elucidate the cause of their spontaneous repetition. Methods : The dura mater was obtained from a normal control participant and a patient with repeat spontaneous cSDHs. The pathological samples from the patient included the dura mater and OM tightly adhered to the inner dura. The samples were analyzed with a particular focus on blood and lymphatic vessels by immunohistochemistry, 3-dimensional imaging using a transparent tissue clearing technique, and electron microscopy. Results : The dural border cell (DBC) layer of the dura mater and OM were histologically indistinguishable. There were 5.9 times more blood vessels per unit volume of tissue in the DBC layer and OM in the patient than in the normal control. The DBC layer and OM contained pathological sinusoidal capillaries not observed in the normal tissue; these capillaries were connected to the middle meningeal arteries via penetrating arteries. In addition, marked lymphangiogenesis in the periosteal and meningeal layers was observed in the patient with cSDHs. Conclusion : Neovascularization in the OM seemed to originate from the DBC layer; this is a potential cause of repeat spontaneous cSDHs. Embolization of the meningeal arteries to interrupt the blood supply to pathological capillaries via penetrating arteries may be an effective treatment option.

        Relationship of Metabolic Diseases with Physical Activity Depending on Age

        본 연구의 목적은 2014년 조사되어진 제 6기 2차 국민건강영양조사 자료를 바탕으로 연령별 신체활동에 따른 대사성질환과의 관계를 파악하여 연령별 신체활동에 따른 대사성질환과의 관련성을 규명하여 예방적 기초자료를 제공하기 위한 연구이다. 본 연구는 제 6기 2차(2014) 국민건강영양조사의 자료를 이용하여 수행되었다. 정상군의 382명과 대사질환군의 1,525명을 총 9,701명의 설문 응답자 중 관련 자료가 없는 2,506명을 제외하고 총 7,295명을 분석했다. 본 연구에서 신체활동은 국제신체활동 설문지 (IPAQ)를 기반으로 재분류 되었다. 대사증후군의 정의는 2004년 개정 된 NCEP-ATP III에 근거하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 연령에 따른 대사성질환과 신체활동과의 관계에서 10~29세 정상군과 50~69세의 대사질환군에서 혈색소, 적혈구용적, 크리아티닌의 수치는 고강도 신체활동이 수행되었을 때 증가했고 저강도 신체활동을 수행되었을 때 감소했다. 30~49세의 정상군과 대사질환군에서 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤 수치는 고강도 신체활동이 수행되었을 때 증가했지만, 저강도 신체활동이 수행되었을 때 감소하였다. 따라서 연령과 운동강도가 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤 수치에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 결과는 정상군에서 연령과 운동강도에 따라 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤 수치에 차이는 없었지만 대사질환군에서는 연령에 따라 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤 수치가 감소하였고 운동강도에 따라 증가하였다. 종합하면, 본 연구의 결과는 대사질환군에서 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤 수치는 고강도 신체활동에서 긍정적인 효과를 나타내고 연령은 부정적인 효과를 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 우리가 신체활동과 연령에 따라 대사성질환을 더 잘 이해하는데 도움이 될 수 있다. Metabolic disease is associated with abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, and dyslipidemia. Physical activity has beneficial effects on a variety of diseases. This study examined the relationship between metabolic diseases and physical activity according to age. Among a total of 7,295 subjects, the data from 382 individuals in the normal group and 1,525 persons in the metabolic disease group were analyzed. The data were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA, the Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The levels of hemoglobin (HB), hematocrit (HCT), and creatinine (CR), were elevated when a high-intensity physical activity was performed, but they were reduced when a low-intensity physical activity was performed in the normal group aged 10~29 years and the metabolic disease group aged 50~69 years. In the normal group and metabolic disease group aged 30~49 years, the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was elevated when high-intensity physical activity was conducted, whereas it was reduced when low-intensity physical activity was performed. No difference in the level of HDL-C depending on age and exercise intensity was observed in the normal group; the level of HDL-C decreased with age and increased with exercise intensity in the metabolic disease group. Physical activity has different effects in metabolic disease depending on age.

        Thyroid Autoantibody Positive Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis

        BackgroundHashimoto’s encephalopathy (HE) and anti N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis have clinical overlaps. Case ReportA 70-year-old woman presented with acutely developed confusion, disorientations and psychosis. HE was suspected based on goiter, markedly elevated anti-thyroglobulin and anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody. She was placed on high dose steroid and intravenous immunoglobulins administration, which did not ameliorate her symptoms. After the antibodies to the NMDAR were identified, weekly 500 mg of rituximab with 4 cycles were started. The current followed up indicated a complete recovery. ConclusionsThe possible associations between NMDAR antibody and autoimmune thyroid antibodies in anti-NMDAR encephalitis with positive thyroid autoantibodies remain unclear. However, a trend toward a higher incidence of NMDAR antibody in patients with autoimmune thyroid antibodies than without has been observed. Cases of encephalitis with only NMDAR antibody (pure anti-NMDAR encephalitis) also occur. Therefore, it is important for clinicians to know the clinical and pathogenic differences between anti-NMDAR encephalitis with positive thyroid autoantibody and pure anti-NMDAR encephalitis for relevant treatment, predicting prognosis, and future follow-up.

      • Minocycline Attenuates Neuronal Cell Death and Improves Cognitive Impairment in Alzheimer's Disease Models

        Minocycline is a semi-synthetic tetracycline antibiotic that effectively crosses the blood–brain barrier. Minocycline has been reported to have significant neuroprotective effects in models of cerebral ischemia, traumatic brain injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases. In this study, we demonstrate that minocycline has neuroprotective effects in in vitro and in vivo Alzheimer's disease models. Minocycline was found to attenuate the increases in the phosphorylation of double-stranded RNA-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase, eukaryotic translation initiation factor-2 α and caspase 12 activation induced by amyloid β peptide<SUB>1–42</SUB> treatment in NGF-differentiated PC 12 cells. In addition, increases in the phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor-2 α were attenuated by administration of minocycline in Tg2576 mice, which harbor mutated human APP695 gene including the Swedish double mutation and amyloid β peptide<SUB>1–42</SUB>-infused rats. We found that minocycline administration attenuated deficits in learning and memory in amyloid β peptide<SUB>1–42</SUB>-infused rats. Increased phosphorylated state of eukaryotic translation initiation factor-2 α is observed in Alzheimer's disease patients' brains and may result in impairment of cognitive functions in Alzheimer's disease patients by decreasing the efficacy of de novo protein synthesis required for synaptic plasticity.
