옥소바나듐(Ⅳ)-카르복실레이트 착물의 자기적 및 적외선 분광학적 성질

카르복실기를 갖는 리간드들과 옥소바나듐(Ⅳ)사이에 형성되는 착화합물(VO(picn)₂,VO(htmq)₂, VO(quin)₂ 및 VO(pyra)₂ㆍ2H₂O)들을 합성하여 그들의 IR 및 자기적 특성을 조사하였다. 이들의 자화율 값과 V=O결합의 신축진동수 값으로부터 VO(picn)₂및 VO(htmq)₂ 착화합물에 있어 강한 분자간 상호작용이 존재하는 것으로 추정하였다. IR데이타를 그거로할 때 4개의 옥소바나듐(Ⅳ) 착물들에 있어 카르복실기는 모두 한자리 배위자로서 작용함을 알 수 있었다. 자유리간드와 옥소바나듐 착물의 IR스펙트럼을 비교 검토함으로써 중심원자와 리간드주게원자들로 구성되는 배위권에서의 기본진동 형태를 분류하고 착물 형성후 나타난 새로운 IR흡수띠들을 분류한 진동 형태와 대응시켰다. Four oxovandium(Ⅳ) complexes with carboxylate ligands, VO(picn)₂, VO(htmq)₂, VO(quin)₂ and VO(pyra)₂ㆍ2H₂O have been prepared and studied. Infrared spectral data coupled with the results of magnetic susceptivility study strongly suggest that there are relltively strong intermolecular interactions in VO(picn)₂ and VO(htmq)₂. In all oxobanadium(Ⅳ) complexes studied in this work, the carboxylate ligand coordinates to the metal ion in the unidentated fashion. Some fundamental vibration modes of oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complexex were empirically assigned from the difference in the spectrum of metal complex with free ligand.

For the destruction of toxic chlorinated organic compounds, this study proposes improved supercritical water oxidation method (multistep oxidation) using sodium nitrate as an oxidizer. This method solves the problems involved in the existing supercritical water oxidation method. Multistep oxidation means that NaNO₃ is oxidized to N₂ via NaNO₂ and NO. Toxic and hard to destroy organic substances like para-dichlorobenzen(4-DCBz), polychlorinate biphenyl(PCB) ware oxidized to non toxic substances in a condition, in which rapid pressure and temperature rise is restrained as much as possible. 4-dichlorobenzene(4-DCBz) and Polychlorinate biphenyl(PCB) in condition(450℃, p_(w)=0.25g/cm³, 30min) Was discomposed perfectly.

Unusual kinetic behavior was observed in the substitutions of hemin with imidazole and cyanide ion under conditions of [L] S 2[hemin] (L=substituting ligand) in N,N--dimethylformamide. The rates of these reactions were much slower than those the formations of mono- and bis-coordinate complexes. Based on the kinetic results, these slow reactions were interpreted in terms of the dissociations of mono-coordinate complex to solvated hemin. The activation volume was determined to be 24.3 -- 0.4 cm3 mol'1 for the reaction with imidazole by the high pressure stopped flow method. The large positive value of the activation volume strongly supports a limiting dissociative mechanism.
Properties of Coating Films Synthesized from Colloidal Silica and Methyltrimethoxysilane

<P>Colloidal silica/methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) sol solutions were prepared in variation with the ratio of MTMS to colloidal silica. Sol solutions were prepared by sol-gel reaction. To understand their physical and chemical properties, dip coating of sol solutions was performed on the glass substrates. The state of coating films was investigated in variation with the amount of MTMS and reaction time. The contact angle and thickness of coating films increased with an increasing amount of MTMS. The surface roughness of coating films decreased with an increasing amount of MTMS. Coating films were stable until 550°C. Thermal degradation temperature of coating films decreased with an increasing amount of MTMS.</P>

Effects of Ceramic Fillers on Light Reflectance and Arc Resistance of PTFE for Circuit Breaker

<P>This paper presents the effects of ceramic fillers on light reflectance and arc resistance of PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene) for nozzle of circuit breaker. In arc environment of a circuit breaker, radiation generated from arcing is considered to play a key role in transport mechanism of arc energy to the wall. Adding some ceramic fillers into PTFE material is expected to be efficient for improving the endurance against arc radiation. In this experiment, three kinds of ceramic fillers for achieving good endurance in the high temperature were used. Light reflectance and arc resistance of PTFE composites were investigated. The arc resistance of PTFE composites increased with the amount of ceramic fillers. The light reflectance of PTFE composites filled with ceramic fillers increased in the long wavelength region and decreased largely in the short wavelength region in comparison with that of pure PTFE.</P>

A case of perifollicular neurofibroma

The induced cutaneous epithelial hyperplasia overlying neoplasm is a well-known histopathologic phenomenon. The induced cutaneous epithelial hyperplasias were not only confined to the epidermal hyperplasia, but also reached adnexal hyperplasia with sebaceous or follicular differentiation. Basaloid epidermal growth on dermatofibroma is the common example of induced epidthelial hyperplasia and adnexal hyperplasia with sebaceous or follicular differentiation has been reported in neurofibromas. Herein, we present a case of a 43-year-old man with a rice-sized, dome-shaped pinkish papule in the left clavicular area. Histologically, wavy spindle cell proliferation in myxoid substance protruded the epidermis and extended into the middle dermis. A complete follicular structure was observed right in the center of the protrusion. On immunohistochemical staining, the tumor cells were positive for vimentin and S-100. Based on these results, diagnosis of perifollicular neurofibroma was made. Considering the location of the follicle, the close relation between the follicular structure and neurofibroma, specifically induced follicular differentiation, was implied.

This is about the successful use of eCG and hCG for producing a Siberian tiger pup born from 10-year-old, primiparous, albino Siberian tiger. From February 2010 to July 2010, natural breeding had been tried three times with no conception. During this period of five months, estrus behaviors appeared to be typically normal and a lot of matings were observed. After consecutive failures, 1000 IU eCG (equine chorionic gonadotropin) were intramuscularly injected on the day showing estrus behavior, followed with an injection of 750 IU hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) 80 hours later. The tiger stopped recurrence of estrus, and a cub, weighed 780 gram, was born alive 104 days after hCG injection. This study is the first report showing the unique, successful use of exogenous hormones as one of artificial breeding programs in the long history of captive breeding of carnivorous zoo animals in Korea.
