We investigated the role of the central MAPK pathways in extra-territorial (referred) pain resulting from inflammation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Experiments were carried out on male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 220-280 g. Under anesthesia, these animals were injected with 50 μL of complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) into the TMJ using a Hamilton syringe. In the control group, saline was injected into the TMJ. To identify the extent of inflammation of the TMJ, Evans blue dye (0.1%, 5 mg/kg) was injected intravenously at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 days after CFA injection. The concentration of Evans blue dye in the extracted TMJ tissue was found to be significantly higher in the CFA-treated animals than in the saline-treated group. Air-puff thresholds in the vibrissa pad area were evaluated 3 days before and at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 days after CFA injection into the TMJ. Referred mechanical allodynia was established at 3 days, remained until 12 days, and recovered to preoperative levels at 18 days after CFA injection. This referred mechanical allodynia was observed in contralateral side area. To investigate the role of central MAPK pathways, MAPK inhibitors (10 μg) were administrated intracisternally 9 days after CFA injection. SB203580, a p38 MAPK inhibitor, significantly attenuated referred mechanical allodynia, as compared with the vehicle group. PD98059, a MEK inhibitor, also reduced CFA-induced referred mechanical allodynia. These results suggest that TMJ inflammation produces extra-territorial mechanical allodynia, and that this is mediated by central MAPK pathways.

In this paper, we carried out investigation of monitoring algorithm development for examination of invester system. For transmiting data, RS-422C is adopted. The LabWindows/CVI development tool of National Instruments Co. is used for the formation of monitoring scree. The experimental set-up is composed of a PC to PC system. It is applicable to electric car inspection and repair.

Average current mode controlled power factor correction technique utilizing converters operating in continuous conduction mode is applied to welding machine to improve welding performance. Due to its simplicity. the boost converter with automatic control is potentially the least expensive active line harmonics reducing current. We implemented the inverter TIG welding machine with boost converter.

In this paper, an auto-tunning method for fuzzy controller based on the neural network is presented. The backpropagated error of neural emulaor offers the path which reforms the fuzzy controller's membership functions and fuzzy rule, and used for speed control of induction motor. For the torque control method, an indirect vector control scheme with slip calculation is used because of its stable characteristics regardless of speed. Motor input current is regulated by a current control fuzzy controller is sunchronous reference frame with decoupling term. DSP(TMS320C31) is used to achieve the high speed calculation of the space voltage vector PWM and to build the self-lesrning fuzzy control algorithm. An IPM is used to simplify hardware design.

A study on the status of disease in a Korean rural Community, Su-Dong Myun, Yong Ju Gun, Kyung-Gi Do was carried out from December, 28 1978 to January, 19 1979 through analizing the meclical records of Su-Dong Health Subcenter during the period september, 1977 to August, 1978 and following results were obtained. 1. New cases of out patients were 5,695 composed of 49.1% male and 50.9% female during the study period. 2. Cumulative cases of out patients were 9,956 composed of 56.4% male and 43.6% female during the study period. 3. Annual morbidity rate was 908.6 per 1,000 for male and 986.4 for female and average annual morbidity rate was 946.6 per 1,00 population. 4. The highest morbidity rate was 3,660.0 as composed of aged 0∼4, the lowest was 498.4 as composed of aged 10∼14 per 1m000 population per year. 5. Following was the order of five major disease which were classified with I.C.D. ① Diseases of the respiratory system : 33.4% ② Diseases of the digestive system : 21.5% ③ Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue : 15.4% ④ Diseases of the nervous system and sense organs : 7.9% ⑤ Accidents, poisonings and violence : 9.4% 6. The visiting rate in the health subcenter were 2.01 for male, 1.44 for female and the average 1.75 per each out patient. 7. Average medical fee per new case was 653±510 won and average cumulatived fee per case was 923±833 won. 8. The distribution of out patients according to the cost of medical fee, 48.9% of total new patients was treated with less than 500 won and 93.3% of new patients was treated with less than 1,000 won.

This paper presents a new spatter reduction method of DC spot wekler, incorporating single phase full bridge inverter driving high frequency transformer also. We proposed to the constant power control strategy to improve quality of the wekting product of spot wekling with dynamic resistance charater. Throughout simulation and prototype test, the system is verified with constant power control, and is implemented fieldtest.
