The complex of iron(II) tris(3-Br-phen) (3-Br-phen; 3-bromo-1,10-phenanthroline) was prepared as a precursor of electropolymerization and the crystal structure of [Fe(3-Br-phen)3]($PF_6$)2${\cdot}$CH3CN with a distorted octahedral geometry has been investigated. The reductive electropolymerization of $>[Fe(3-Br-phen)3]^{2+}$ complex onto the surface of a glassy carbon electrode and indium tin oxide (ITO) optically transparent electrode were performed in acetonitrile at room temperature. Thin film of poly-$>[Fe(3-Br-phen)3]^{2+}$ formed was adherent, electroactive and stably deposited on a glassy carbon disk electrode. The thin metallopolymeric film formed was also confirmed by absorption spectroscopy.
Behaviour of bentazon in the presence of rice plants in a lysimeter
Lee, Jae Koo,Fu¨hr, F.,Kyung, Kee Sung,Oh, Kyeong Seok 한국농화학회 1990 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.33 No.2
In order to simulate the rice paddy fields, two lysimeters of 0.25㎡ surface area were manufactured with stainless steel of 8mm thickness. When the herbicide ^(14)C-bentazon was applied to the surface by the conventional method for the control of weeds of rice plants, the leachates from the lysimeters contained 1.14%(lysimeter 1) -6.29%(lysimeter 2)of the originally applied radioactivities up to the 37th week after the application. The appromate amounts of COz evolved from the surfaces of the lysimeters in the presenece of rice plants during the experimental period of 20 weeks were about 1.33%(lysimeter 1) - 3.68%(lysimeter 2). No volatilization of bentazon from the soil surfaces was observed. The C-radioactivities detect in straw, ear without rice grain, chaff, and hulled rice grain after harvest corresponded to 2.5-3.2, 0.1, 0.05, and 0.03ppm, respectively, in two lysimeters. Partition of the ^(14)C-radioactivity pre sent in the leachates revealed that 96.1-98.95% of it remained in the organic phase(ethyl acetae), indicating that the leachates contain very small amounts of polar compounds resulting from the degradation of bentazon. In the time-course of the absrorption and translocation, the maximum amount of ^(14)C-radioactivity in the shoots, amounting to 4.08-7.57ppm, appeared 21 days agter the application. The degradation of bentazon in soil increased with soil temperature. The degradation products of small amounts detected in the leachates were identified as 6-0H and 8-0H bentazon by TLC and autoradiography.

The object of this study was to examine whether the germanium fortified yeast administered to SD rat is accumulated in the liver and kidney. The administration doses were within 2,000 ㎎/㎏ which is the level of NOAEL (no observed adverse effect level) proved through the previous study of single/consecutive oral toxicity test. There were no significant clinical symptoms and mortality following the administration of organic germanium-fortified yeast (0, 500, 1,000, 2,000 ㎎/㎏) during the whole test period, and also no difference in the consumed amount of feed and water for each group. No significant abnormalities of hematology and blood chemistry parameters were found in all groups of organic germanium-fortified yeast (0, 500, 1,000, 2,000 ㎎/㎏). The amount of germanium accumulated in liver and kidney was 0 g/㎏ by ICP-AES method in the group of organic germanium-fortified yeast. In the positive control group of GeO₂ (150 ㎎/㎏), the amount of accumulation was shown to 3135.0 and 4277.2 g/kg in each female and male kidney and 1044.3 and 2135.8 g/㎏ in each female and male liver, respectively. Organic germanium-fortified yeast, a biosynthetic product resulting from putting germanium into yeast, did not show any clinical symptoms, blood chemical significance, and residues in kidney and liver. It could be inferred that the non-toxic amount of organic germanium-fortified yeast was up to 2,000 ㎎/㎏.
Field Emission Enhancement by Electric Field Activation in Screen-printed Carbon Nanotube Film
Lee, Hyeon-Jae,Lee, Yang-Doo,Cho, Woo-Sung,Kim, Jai-Kyeong,Hwang, Sung-Woo,Ju, Byeong-Kwon The Korean Infomation Display Society 2005 Journal of information display Vol.6 No.4
By applying a critical field treatment instead of the conventional surface treatments such as soft rubber roller, ion beam irradiation, adhesive taping, and laser irradiation, electron emission properties of screen-printed carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were enhanced and investigated based on the emission current-voltage characteristics through scanning electron microscopy. After nanotube emitters were activated at the applied electric-field of 2.5 V/um, the electron emission current density with good uniform emission sites reached the value of 2.13 mA/$cm^2$ , which is 400 times higher than that of the untreated sample, and the turn-on voltage decreased markedly from 700 to 460 V. In addition, enhancement of the alignment of CNTs to the vertical direction was observed.

We report the new threadlike structures outside the blood vessels of mice. For this, we developed an in-situ searching method of the structure by vital staining with the dye of acridine orange and using a fluorescent stereomicroscope designed specifically for this purpose. We consider that the newly found threadlike structure might be rediscovery of the extra-vascular Bonghan duct which was reported in 1963 by Bonghan Kim.
