착유방법을 달리하여 얻은 기름골 기름을 37℃와 60℃에서 저장 중 산화안정성을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 저장 중 기름의 산가는 기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하였는데, 37℃에서 저장한 것보다 60℃에서 저장한 것이 높게 나타났고, 유기용매로 추출한 기름의 산가가 가장 높았다. 2. 저장 중 기름의 과산화물가는 37℃에서 저장한 기름의 경우 점차적인 증가를 보이다 저장 120일 이후 급격한 증가를 보이고 150일 이후 다시 감소하는 경향을 나타내었고, 60℃에서 저장한 기름은 37℃에서 저장한 기름보다 같은 저장기간에서 과산화물가 더 높게 나타났고, 그 경향은 저장 210일째까지 증가가 지속되어졌다. 3. 지방산은 oleic acid가 가장 주된 지방산으로 존재하고 있었고, 지방산은 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 palmitic acid, stearic acid, linolenic acid에서 근소한 증가와 oleic acid, linoleic acid는 약간의 감소 경향을 보였으나 저장에 따른 뚜렷한 변화는 볼 수 없었다. This study was carried out to investigate the oxidative stability and fatty acid composition during storage of chufa oil. Chufa oil was roasted at 170℃, 150℃, non-roasting or solvent extracting and stored at 37℃ or 60℃. The acid value and peroxide value of chufa oil at 60℃ were higher than their at 37℃. The acid value of chufa oil showed the trend of increase in all the samples and that of solvent-extracted oil was the highest during the storage period. The peroxide value of oils was gradually increase on the 120th day but significantly increased between 120th and 150th day. Oleic acid was the major fatty acid in chufa oil. Palmitic acid, stearic acid and linolenic acid increase and oleic acid and linoleic acid decreased during storage period. They were changed slightly and the obvious differents were not observed according to storage period.

Micro/meso cutting is getting more important in the fields of precision machining technology. A micro-turning lathe is one of parts to consist the Micro Factory. It accepts stepwise motion actuators that are used for feeding system instead of the conventional mechanism. It is consisted of two Piezoelectric ceramics; one is for feeding the slider, and the other is for clamping the slider in the guide way of the body. The linearity and positional accuracy of the actuators are good enough for high precision motion. The spindle unit is operated with DC motor on the top of the slider. The motion is communicated with miniaturized linear encoder attached on each side of axis. A mono crystal diamond tool is used for cutting tool. This micro-lathe has been made a machining experiment to see the characteristics of micro-machining.

Understanding the behavior of transgenes introduced into oocyte or embryos is essential for evaluating the methodologies for transgenic animal production. To date, many studies have reported the production of transgenic pig embryos with, however, low efficiency in environment of blastocyst production. The aim of present study was to determine the expression and duration of transgene transferred by intracytoplasmic sperm injection-mediated gene transfer (ICSI-MGT). Embryos obtained from the ICSI-MGT procedure were analysed for the expression of GFP and then for the transmission of the transgene. Briefly, fresh spermatozoa were bound to exogenous DNA after treatment by Triton X-100 and Lipofectin. When ICSI-MGT was performed using sperm heads with tails removed, the yield of blastocyst (25.3%), treated with Lipofectin (18.8%) and Triton X-100 (19.2%) were observed. Treatments of Lipofectin or Triton X-100 did not further improve the rates of blastocysts. Moreover, the apoptosis rates of embryos were obtained from the control and LIpofectin groups (8.7%, 9.7%, respectively), but were significantly higher in the Triton X-100 group (13.0%). Our results demonstrated that ICSI-MGT caused minimal damage to oocytes that could develop to full term. Moreover, the embryos derived by ICSI-MGT have shown prolonged exogenous DNA expression during preimplantation stage in vivo. However, more efforts will be required to improve the procedures of both sperm treatments cause of high frequency of mosaicisms.

Background/Aims: Recently, many cases of vitamin K-dependent coagulopathy of unknown origin have been reported. Such patients lack any relevant family history and have no systemic disease, raising suspicion of superwarfarin intoxication. We evaluated individual risk factors causing coagulopathy and hemorrhagic symptoms in patients with suspected superwarfarin intoxication. In addition, we determined how to effectively treat vitamin K-dependent coagulopathy caused by suspected superwarfarin intoxication. Methods: Seven patients with suspected superwarfarin intoxication who lacked any definitive history of rodenticide ingestion were included. Thirty-one patients initially diagnosed with rodenticide poisoning were also included. We performed a retrospective chart review of all subjects and examined clinical data including patient demographics and medical histories. Results: Patients initially diagnosed with rodenticide poisoning were divided into two groups, one of which had a laboratory abnormality (prothrombin time [PT] > 13 seconds) and another group with PTs in the normal range. There was no significant difference between the two groups in any of age, gender, the extent of chronic alcohol consumption, the causative rodenticide, psychiatric problems, ingestion of drugs interacting with warfarin, the extent of intoxication, or the type of ingestion attempt. The albumin level of the former group was significantly lower than that of the latter group (p = 0.014). Furthermore, a significant difference between the two groups was evident in terms of simultaneous ingestion of rodenticide and alcohol (p = 0.023). Conclusions: Most patients with superwarfarin poisoning did not exhibit any complication. When such complications were evident, they were associated with serum albumin level and coingestion of rodenticide and alcohol.
