The giant condyloma or carcinoma-like condylima is relatively rare. Although the disease is considered clinically mailgant. the possiblity of maligant changes from them are controversial even among the investigators but cannot be entirely overlooked. Most authorists consider that they get the possibility of malignant change. A case of malignancy of the penis which have apparently been transformed from giant condyloma acuminatum of the penis is herein presented with review of literature.

Bi_2(M_0O_4)_3 single crystal was grown by Czochralski technique. From the UV-VIS spectrum and the IR spectra Bi_2(M_0O_4)_3crystal was turned out having a indirect absorption process with energy gap, 2.8eV and having complicate absorption edge with maximum value in vicinity of 1860cm^-1. According to the crystallographic point group(2/m) and monoclinic system,Bi_2(M_0O_4)_3 crystal has two Raman active modes(Ag, Bg mode). Thus, the evolution of Raman spectra with temperature corresponding to selected experimental configuration-x(zz)y (Ag-mode), x(yx)y(Bg-mode)-was observed. From photoluminescence experiment, a violet-fluorescent light was observed. But we had a difficulty in analyzing the broad -spectra detected actually.

The present issue of insect resistance and environmental toxicity of pesticides is triggering deep discussion about the pest management tactics, in which pest monitoring and control activity are mainly involved. Novel control agents, hopefully overcoming the present issues and problems, should be researched and commercially applied to the farm fields. With the monitoring-based research, additionally we have to focus on the control-based, particularly control agent-based research and application. Entomo- pathogenic fungi can used as one of the possible novel control agents once considerations are given to the control of soil- or water-dwelling pests. In our research group, the entomopathogenic fungal library has been constructed using the mealworm-based isolation system, which showed a variety of opportunities of their use in pest control. Important key production technologies including granular formulation have been developed to increase their industrialization. Some entomopathogenic fungal isolates showed high biological performance in the control of rice weevils, western flower thrips and Japanese bettles in field stands. To elucidate the fungal mode of action, a fungal transformation system using AtMT and gene identification tools were established. Recently a more deep study about the relationship between insect and entomopathogenic fungi is be investigated using RNA seq. We suggest that to make the entomopathogenic fungal products be applied to agricultural farm field, R&D of down-stream process should be seriously considered as the key step.

This paper addresses developmentof the ultra-lightanalog sun sensors for small satel-lite applications. The sun sensor is suitable for attitude determination for small satel-lite because of its small, light, low-cost, and low power consumption characteristics.The sun sensor is designed, manufactured and characteristic-tested with the target re-quirementsof. ..Æ FOV (Field of View) and pointingaccuracyof. .Æ . Since the sunsensor has nonlinearcharacteristics betweenoutputmeasurementvoltage and incidentangle of sunlight, a higher order calibration equation is required for error correction.The error was calculated by using a polynomial calibration equation that was com-puted by the least square method obtained from the measured voltages vs. anglescharacteristics. Finally, the accuracies of 1-axis and 2-axes sun sensors, which consistof 2 detectors, are compared.

Background:Subepithelial fibrosis plays a major role in the development of irreversible airway obstruction in asthma. Eosinophils are major effector cells in allergic inflammation, and it has been suggested that eosinophil-derived mediators such as transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) play a role in the pathogenesis of airway remodeling. Objective : The aim of this study was to evaluate whether eosinophils activated by IL-5 plays a major role in the collagen gel contraction by lung fibroblasts. Method : Various cell numbers of lung fibroblasts were cultured in collagen gels to determine the appropriate numbers of fibroblasts. Purified human peripheral blood eosinophils were activated by IL-5 for 3 days, and TGF-β Mrna expression was evaluated using semiquantitative RT- PCR. The cultured supernatants with or without TGF-β were added to the collagen gel media with lung fibroblasts, and collagen gel diameter was serially measured to evaluate collagen gel contraction. Results : The amount of collagen gel conion was significantly associated with the number of fibroblasts (p$lt; 0.05), and TGF-β significantly contracted the collagen gel to contract in a dose-dependent manner (p$lt; 0.05). However, supernatants derived from IL-5-activated eosinophils did not contract the collagen gel compared to controls (p$gt; 0.05). Moreover, expression of TGF-β Mrna in eosinophils was the same before and after stimulus of IL-5. Conclusion: Activated eosinophils by IL-5 may play a minor role in the collagen gel contraction by lung fibroblasts.

This report provides a detailed description of the methodology for ophthalmic examinations according to the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) VII and VIII (from 2017 to 2021). The KNHANES is a nationwide survey which has been performed since 1998 in representatives of whole Korean population. During the KNHANES VII and VIII, in addition to the ophthalmic questionnaire, intraocular pressure measurement, visual field test, auto refractometry, axial length and optical coherence tomography measurements were included. This new survey will provide not only provide normative and pathologic ophthalmic data including intraocular pressure, refractive error, axial length, visual field and precise measurement of anterior segment, macula and optic nerve with optical coherence tomography, but also a more accurate diagnosis for major adult blindness diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and other ocular diseases, for the national Korean population.

<P>Aims: Hypoxia induces expression of various genes and microRNAs (miRs) that regulate angiogenesis and vascular function. In this study, we investigated a new functional role of new hypoxia-responsive miR-101 in angiogenesis and its underlying mechanism for regulating heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Results: We found that hypoxia induced miR-101, which binds to the 3 ' untranslated region of cullin 3 (Cul3) and stabilizes nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) via inhibition of the proteasomal degradation pathway. miR-101 overexpression promoted Nrf2 nuclear accumulation, which was accompanied with increases in HO-1 induction, VEGF expression, and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS)-derived nitric oxide (NO) production. The elevated NO-induced S-nitrosylation of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 and subsequent induction of Nrf2-dependent HO-1 lead to further elevation of VEGF production via a positive feedback loop between the Nrf2/HO-1 and VEGF/eNOS axes. Moreover, miR-101 promoted angiogenic signals and angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo, and these events were attenuated by inhibiting the biological activity of HO-1, VEGF, or eNOS. Moreover, these effects were also observed in aortic rings from HO-1(+/-) and eNOS(-/-) mice. Local overexpression of miR-101 improved therapeutic angiogenesis and perfusion recovery in the ischemic mouse hindlimb, whereas antagomiR-101 diminished regional blood flow. Innovation: Hypoxia-responsive miR-101 stimulates angiogenesis by activating the HO-1/VEGF/eNOS axis via Cul3 targeting. Thus, miR-101 is a novel angiomir. Conclusion: Our results provide new mechanistic insights into a functional role of miR-101 as a potential therapeutic target in angiogenesis and vascular remodeling. Antioxid.
